I always thought Doris had it all, looks, could sing, and was a great actress. I don't recall ever not liking anything she has done. I believe America and the rest of the world fell in love with her as I did. This song reached the number six spot on the billboard charts in 1958. The Shirelles another of my favorites did a great cover of it in 1962 and took it to the # 19 spot on the charts. Hey 'You Tube members' out there which version do you favor, Doris or The Sirelles, let me know!!

@dakotajim11378 Love the Shirelles, but I can't see anybody ever outdoing this wonderful version of "Everybody Loves a Lover." I remember this song hitting the charts when I was 8 in 1958. I've loved it ever since. This is the best that Doris Day ever did...
