Grumpy guy holds all the fish an inch from the camera. Try smiling, quit being so angery when catching fish. Hold the fish next to you, not up to the camera to make a 2lb trout look like something its not.

Beautiful fish thats for sure. Unfortunately these are not true Golden trout.  Some really nice looking brookies too.

@mountainguide5 confused on the definition of true????? are you trying to say not native, or wild, or are you refering to the genetics when you refer to TRUE, many trout in the winds are golden cutts, or goldbows, but there are some lakes in the winds that are genetically pure still from the 1930 stockings, so there not native, but after 80 years, i would consider them wild, genetically pure, some are, some aren't, but if they are not true, that would make them false goldens,

I think he doesn't look happy cause he knows how far he still has to go, I caught 2 nice ones last year up in the Beartooths and if the guy with me didn't tell me they were Goldens i Guess i would have gone through live hoping i could one day hook one, never knowing i did, does take some hiking thought and, they don't hang in Mammas pond down by the campers

hay ramblin man albrta has goldies three isle lake in the kananaskis has them do sum research they r in quite a few lakes here doubt they r as big as these but at least we would be smiling if we caught a tiddler and to the kiwi we use bait that big to but not unless were fishing 4 pike and when u get the world record let me no rainbow 40 + lake deffinbaker lock long scotland brownys over 25 but ya nz has big fish but the lakes r so small they run on to shore

they are small because they live in such a high altitude environment that oxygen levels and food resources restrict thier growth and overall size.

Big trout for sure in New Zealand but you don't have any Goldens there nor do you have trout at 10000 feet. These 2-3lb Golden trout this guy is catching are the finest game trout in the world. I do hope I can make it down to NZ one day and hook into a twenty pounder!!!

Fished for Goldens in the Bridger Wilderness (Coon Lake)in the 70's. Absolutel the most beautiful trout in existence. BTW, nice brookies too. Many thanks for the pics. Brings back many fond memories to this old Phart!!!

I never seen that big of a golden trout before in the high sierra they are very small. when i when to wyoming all i caught were cutthrout trout flying is best kind of fishing
