@MsAlicia66 You definitely can (and should) take your maltese on walks. Just remember that they don't have nearly as much energy as big dogs so they won't be able to go as far.

When they are small , can you take them outside like for a walk ?

@Ludidiki You can definitely take them outside for a walk. However, you just have to be careful because other dogs may consider them to be chew toys :) Also, my maltese hated going on walks when he was little. Sometimes it's easier to get their energy out by letting them run around the yard instead.

@phantomwaltz technically it's "ok" but after having done it, and now that my dog is grown up, I would recommend keeping them with the mom for 10-12 weeks at least. There are important behaviors they learn from their mother and litter mates that are much more difficult (if not impossible) to teach them yourself).

That is the cutest little thing! That tail cracks me up--I want to pick him up and cuddle him. Puppies are the sweetest little things!! No matter what mood I'm in, if I see a puppy, I can't help but smile and feel happy. :)
