powell´s coach said asafa was really tired before and during the race because of his hard training the week before the race. asafa was out from the track during 2 months because of an ankle injury so he has now to work harder to be a 100% in berlin. that´s the explanation of his bad presentation.

ok, so asafa obviously has issues overcoming rivalris in races, but i cannot understand why he alays shuts it down near the end of a race! I mean its his full-time profession aswell, he could've ran a 10.1 something there if he hadn't have shut it down.

Powell best races are when he is not challenged and gets a good start.Once his competitors starts to close in on him he simply just shuts down and never completes his race.I loose too much money on powell . My prediction is that he is not going to medal in the 100m at Berlin.However, I still respect him.

Lewis Johnson says "And a fair start" at the start of every race that he comments on. It's start to get annoying. I hope that I'm not wrong but I think Asafa is working on different aspects of his race...He's not pushing it too much...we'll see though...I'm a big fan of Bolt, but I'm not counting out Tyson Gay who is also good. It's a 100m race...and it's difficult to recover from mistakes made in such a race. Whoever makes the least mistakes will win at the World champs.

This is the type of start Bolt will need to put Gay away in the 100 in Berlin.

If Bolt runs this well in normal conditions and doesn't let up, Gay is going to struggle to keep up. Once Bolt gets his last 30 under him a little better, this type of start and top speed could carry him clear to 9.60.

Powell could've gotten 4th but realized he wasn't going to catch Usain and gave up during the last 15 meters, which allowed Williams and Williamson to over take him. You can tell its psychological for Powell. Instead of racing the clock he's trying to race Usain and that causes him to lose focus. Once you lose focus all that training is worthless.

IMO, a race shouldn't be the time to "test" the field. Thats why you train. A race is used to get the best time you can, from what you've been trained to do. You then see what your weaknesses are and work on them. Then at the next race try to get a better time.
