OK It's really stupid to say Jesus didn't exist, I mean you can think God doesn't exist, fine, but Jesus? That's an absurdity, if you look at basic history especially the Christian impact on say; the Roman empire it's clear there was a "Jesus" albeit that wasn't his name nor was he white, nor did he call himself the son of God, but 'Jesus' refers to a real person who walked the earth nonetheless
@JihadiTV Please provide ONE SINGLE HISTORICAL REFERENCE to jesus, from that time period, other than the bible or similar religious works. JUST ONE. I'll be waiting....and waiting.....and WAITING. Post the necessary evidence to support your claim.
@homeostasis4me You clearly lack historical training. There are 24,000 documents supporting Christ's existence. There are 10 supporting the existence of Julius Caesar, all written after his death. There are 3 supporting Socrates, again written after his death. There are plenty of historians who wrote about or mentioned Christ, but due to your ignorance in the field of history you think there is no evidence for Christ, when in reality there is more evidence for Him than anyone else. LOL
@emekonen REALLY? Name one single document that relates his existence, based on firsthand experience, tht is not biblical scripture. JUST ONE. 24,000 "documents", INDEED! Put up or shut up. Provide supporting material, Ace. One firsthand nonbiblical account.
@emekonen I don't deny that he existed, I believe there was a man named Jesus who was born a while ago. But I don't think he had any supernatural powers or that he was the son of a so-called god or divine being..
@JihadiTV Absolutely, if Jesus was entirely fictional, then they could have just had his family coming from Bethlehem to fulfill "prophecy", but they invented that whole phony cesus thing to move his birthplace from Nazareth to Bethlehem. That makes me feel pretty strongly that there must have been a Jesus of Nazareth to inspire the new testement mythology.
"Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity"
-Thomas Jefferson, writer of the Decleration of Independence.
so whats that fake quote prove, just because you write someone name in the end dont make it true, and just because you got it from website done make it true, i know so many websites and christians saying Charles Darwin became a christian in his deathbed. Well here is what charles Darwin said, "Kill atheist and people who believe in evolution, and also kill those who hate christianity"-Charles Darwin writes of Origin of Species. A christian wont hate christianity and darwin wont hate atheist.
"Christianity neither is, nor ever was, a part of the common law"
Vol. 1 "Whether Christianity is Part of the Common Law "(1764). Published in The Works of Thomas Jefferson in Twelve Volumes, Federal Edition, Paul Leicester Ford, ed., New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1904,, p. 459.
@SkyShaw Where have we got as a result of atheism? I will tell you where, 150 million deaths in under 100 years since the invention of atheist communism.
@emekonen actually atheism is much older than Communism. Going to 5 BCE, Diagoras of Melos was forced to flee from athens when he declared that there were no gods, and in 6 BCE the advent of buddhism created a major religion that had no true gods. And there are christian communists by the way.
@SkyShaw So what does that have to do with anything? Communism is an atheist ideology. There is just as much logic for blaming atheism for those deaths as there is blaming Christianity for what people who considered themselves Christian have done. So whats the point? Atheism is responsible for more deaths, period.
@emekonen yeah...so I guess atheists are better at everything than christians huh? Better at math, art, science, and killing. BTW I decided rather than waste my time I'm just gonna mock you from this point on.
@SkyShaw I have come to expect that from your terribly misinformed and ignorant replies to this video. Its ok to blame Christianity for things perpetrated by people, but when it comes to atheism, well thats just totally different. Get a life, and an education, lol.
@emekonen Don't want to intrude but, you can find statistics that show that there are more atheists that have a better education than christians as of 2007... sorry
@emekonen Sorry but communism is not an atheist ideology. According to Marx, communism is an order in the social stratification in societies which deem every class to be equal as all others. And atheism is not an ideology, because an ideology is a belief that justifies political and social actions. Atheism is the lack-of belief in any religion, which does not involve religious orientation or stratification. It is therefore in itself, opposite to what others claim.
@DevilDman Communism is an atheist ideology. Its not a coincidence that all the communist leaders were atheist, and the founders of it were atheist. And yes, atheism is indeed a belief. The definition of belief encompasses atheism, and even the definition of religion could indeed be applied to atheism. Its so easy to blame Christianity for everything, yet when it comes to atheism well then we must say that it is a "lack of belief", please.
@emekonen Atheism is not a religion. As my friend said: "Atheism is the absence of god-belief. All else is embellishment. Atheism has no dogma, no rites, no holy books, no places of worship and no clergy of any description. It offers no moral guidance, no political opinions and no world view" So no, it is not a religion. Go look up what religion actually means, and I am certain that you will not find the word 'atheist' in there.
@emekonen Here's an analogy if you still don't understand: Saying "Atheism is a religion" is like saying 'not collecting coins still makes you a coin collector'.
@DevilDman So you do believe it is a belief, just not a religion? A belief is: an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists, or trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something. That is according to the New Oxford English Dictionary. Do you want to know the definition of religion? If atheism is a belief, as demonstrated by the definition, then could it not be a religion?
@emekonen No, that doesn't make sense. Its a fallacy to say you believe that you don't believe in god. If you tell me that orange is a hair color, and I tell you that the person is bald, baldness is not a hair color. It is the absence of hair, just like atheism is the absence of belief.
@DevilDman Your definition does not make sense but saying, I do not believe in God DOES make sense. If you described yourself by everything you lack belief in, then you would be describing yourself for a long time. Who does that? For instance, "Sir would you like to register to vote? No thank you, I lack belief in voting." That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, yet somehow that makes sense to you.
@emekonen You have to put this conversation in a non-biased context. In your argument you prioritize religion and you revolve around it as well. Ignoring religious context, if you say that you do not believe in something, this does not classify you under any title or culture or religion. Your example of the voting person doesn't make sense. In that scenario one would say that the person is NOT a voter. Not, "i lack belief in voting." Saying atheism is a religion is like saying even though the
@DevilDman No, I gave you the definition of belief. Atheism fits within the definition of it. YOU said it is not religion, I said it is a belief. So now that I proved to you atheism is a belief you switched out the word for religion, and I asked you, so you agree it is a belief then? Since you switched words I tried to clarify. You are contradicting your own self. Atheism IS a belief, scientific atheism is a religion.
@DevilDman Well your entitled to that belief. Problem is validating your belief. Christianity has a foundation that reaches all the way back the beginning of history. Plenty of historical evidence to prove Christ existed, so its not as if there is no substance to our beliefs. How rational is it to attack a God you do not believe? Comparing unicorns to a religion that has thousands of years of historical evidence is ignorant and stupid.
@emekonen Just because there is historical evidence on Jesus (and yes I know there is) doesn't mean that there is a god. There is plenty of historical evidence that Egyptians have Sun and Sky gods, how come you don't believe in them? So if I say I don't belief that there is a god, then that doesn't mean that i've just found my new religion.
@DevilDman Good Point, problem is, I do believe them. I do not believe IN them though. There is also sufficient evidence for their existence, even in a Christian context. But just randomly making things up is no comparison and if you have any sense I think you would come to that realization.
@emekonen The problem with history is that it can be easily tampered with, especially if it is an ancient documented source. Furthermore, on this point, there is no empirical evidence for any divine beings. There are only historical claims that explain the behavior and events of what people did and believed at the time. So, explain to me what you mean exactly by evidence, other than the tampered papers of 'god'.
@DevilDman Ok so then if we must question any evidence for the existence of any deity, then whats to stop us from questioning everything that gets our panties in a bunge? You ask me to give you evidence, but then you give me stipulations as if you know anything about history, how history works, how things are dated, and what exactly makes something "evidence." So its no win for me, you set me up to fail based on YOUR personal bias and not fact.
@emekonen You can call this the strawman argument if you want, but I do know how history works, as I specialize in that field. I asked you to define what exactly evidence is in your perspective, and how you could reflect accurate evidence towards religion.
@DevilDman Thats pretty simple to answer actually. There are numerous sources that support the existence of Christ, as well as the OT. If you are trying to confuse evidence for God with evidence for religion, then you are not very good in your field. This is why believing in God is faith, knowing that Christ existed, due to clear evidence, is fact. Should we doubt every historical figure that does not meet our standards of what existence means?
@emekonen We are still talking about evidence for god. Historical figures do not spontaneously arise, i know that. Their is factual sources that support the existence of Jesus, this I know as well. But what we will never be able to prove is that he was a son of some divine being, there will never be evidence for this. And taking a leap of faith for the existence of god, is the same as taking a leap of faith for evolution, and yet, creationists deny evolution.
@DevilDman Exactly. I never said I could prove Christ was God and you make a wonderful point with evolution. Based on the available evidence we both have come to different conclusions. Berating someone for that is unacceptable. I gave you accurate evidence for religion, that you seem to agree exists so I do not see what the fuss is about?
@emekonen The fuss, and my point, is that not believing in god does not make that a religion. And you say it is because it is a belief, just like religion. Well this is fallacious because you can believe in many things: this doesn't mean you adopted a religion.
@DevilDman Atheism is a religion, according to the definition of religion. What your doing is applying your own personal definition of what religion is to this discussion, without actually knowing what it means. One could say "Consumerism is the new religion". Meaning it is a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance, New Oxford English Dictionary. According to your zealous defense of atheism it is clear that it is your religion and you are religious.
@emekonen First of all, there is a difference between a subjective and an objective statement. I'm sure you're bright enough to figure out what 'consumerism is the new religion' falls into. Second, religion has many definitions, one including the practice of religious belief, scrupulous conformity, and a value to be held of supreme importance. Atheism is not an ideology of supreme importance, it's a subjective judgment of an individual. If you still say it is, well then, afairyism is a religion.
@DevilDman So then what is Christianity? I made no judgment whatsoever to believe in Christianity based on the available evidence? That HAD to be about the stupidest statement you have said yet. lol yea sure your a historian alright.
@emekonen You believe in Christianity because you took a leap of faith. What, you don't know what Christianity is? Do I have to explain to you that Christianity is a religion now? And by the way, most radical theists have the lowest percentage of education, which explains their ignorance. You support this with your own examples. What education do you have?
@DevilDman I know Christianity is a religion, so is atheism. Thanks for the blanket statement, backed with no facts. And nice ad hominim attack. Because I do not believe as you do, I am ignorant. I believe in Christianity because based on the evidence I believe it to be true. This is ignorance because I have come to a different conclusion than you? Sounds like there is no room for any belief other than your own. This conversation is over.
@emekonen What evidence. Christianity exists, we all know that. But what it tries to convey, is not supported by anything other than a book with many myths in it. So believe what you want, but this analogy says it all: A man who does not collect coins, does not mean that coin collecting is still his hobby. Atheism, can never be a religion. I think you should go search for the definition of atheism, and you might come back with some unambiguous points.
@DevilDman Some things are faith, some things are not. To make a blanket statement that ALL Christianity is myth proves your lack of intelligence. Of the three definitions of religion, atheism is definetly covered. Your lack of common sense clearly shows that you believe religion ONLY deals with God. Hence when I made a simple comparison you completely misunderstood. Your analogy makes no sense.
@emekonen Obviously you don't understand the analogy, and I don't feel like explaining it to you, its rather simple. And i did not say that ALL Christianity is myth, re-read my comment carefully. I said what it tries to convey. The practice of Christianity exists. However, what I said was what it conveys is backed up only by stories and myths in some ancient book in which people believe fell from the sky. And yes, religion is primarily God oriented. I don't what Christianity your talking about
@DevilDman Well you are showing your immaturity and lack of education. I do not know a single person who believes the bible fell from the sky, lol. Just like any other historical text many things in scripture can historically be proven. Since you make such outrageous claims that the bible is full of myths and it fell from the sky, I want you to cite to me your sources. Until then do not reply to me, essentially this will end our communication.
@DevilDman Seriously though, what makes you so qualified to make such broad statements? How much study have you done on this subject that enables you to make such accusations? I mean at 19 how much college education can you have?
@emekonen Hoh boy, your not the brightest person i've seen. I am not 19 young one. I'm probably twice your age, and I teach Classics of Greek Mythology at the Cegep level. Now, if you want a source, look at Genesis where a man in the sky creates the world out of nothing, and creates a human out of nothing, and then creates a woman out of a man. Figure that one out. Creation science is as bologna as the spaghetti monster is.
@DevilDman LOL like the alternative makes any more sense. Your deflecting the argument, I asked for sources on your claims that we believe the bible "fell from the sky" and is "full of myths". Your profile states that you are 19, the way in which you speak would suggest your much younger. If you want to brag, go ahead. You have proven nothing except your irrationality. You attack a God that you do not believe exists. lol
@emekonen I think you are actually blind. Genesis is a myth. The story of Moses is another, the whole BIBLE is fiction. There's your source. Second, my initial point is that atheism is not a religion, i'm not attacking your little god. Third, if you would take a biology class, you'd know that evolution is more probable than anything you've read in your bible. Evolution has been proven many times, yet you creationists deny it. Just look at the experiment conducted by John Endler and David Reznick
@DevilDman Here is the alternative. Matter decided to exist, it had to, because space had to, at some time, come into existence for matter to have space to exist. Evolution is about as probable as me winning the lottery every day of every month of every year for a few billion years. Maybe you believe in the multiverse theory or that the universe was always self existent, I dont know but your condescending attitude is definitely proof that you DID evolve from an ape.
@emekonen Even if I did evolve from an ape, i'd rather believe that than live a blind life praying and kissing the ass of a man in the sky. Keep praying, we'll see how many prayers your god answers. And by the way, you guys have one of the lowest educations and you do stupid things all the time just to seek attention. If you want more people converted to Christianity, at least set a good example instead of killing abortion doctors, making fun of homosexuals, and discriminating everyone else.
@DevilDman Please dont put words into my mouth nor condescend to me. It seems to me that you have a serious problem with a God you do not even believe exists, that is irrational to me. I do not condescend to you or anyone else that disagrees with me, so why are you doing it to me?
@emekonen And if your so smart, explain how there are famous and renown evolutionary biologists such as Theodisious Dobzhansky, Ehab Abouheif and others, who maintain religious belief and accept evolution.
@DevilDman I personally know some theistic evolutionists, I should not have to explain their position. Personally I believe the reason for the 6 day creation is the establishment of structure and time FOR mankind, rational right? If it were in an instant its not logical, neither billions of years. They are entitled to their views but it does not make them right. We all come to conclusions based on the evidence, dont be arrogant because mine differs from yours, thats the bottom line.
@emekonen How is it not logical for creation to occur over billions of years? You said it yourself, we come to conclusions based on evidence. Evidence shows that it is impossible, for example, for the world to have been created 6 thousand years ago.
@DevilDman Thats an interpretation based on Charles Lyell's belief that each layer of the earth equals a certain epoch. That is not proof, it is an interpretation. For instance when a fish dies, it floats, yet we find thousands of thousands of fossilized fish. This means that they somehow swam to the bottom of the ocean and laid there so that sediment could build up over them over a period of thousands, or millions of years. Logical? Its an interpretation buddy. Now leave me alone kid lol.
@emekonen I think you should do your homework before you speak out. Take a geology class and a biology class and you won't embarrass yourself as much. What you said, is very, very primitive. Come back when you know a bit more about science.
@DevilDman LOL. So the geological column is not created by Charles Lyell? Look I am not condescending to you, like you are me, for believing what you do. We look at the evidence, which is NOT empirical, and come to different conclusions. You however seem to find it necessary to attack those who disagree, that to me is irrational and sad.
@quezcatol I probably would have to research serious scientists that believe in unicorns, (you never know), but there are other theories such as lockness monsters, aliens residing on earth, big foots, giant birds and unknown creatures that SERIOUS scientists believe in. So yes, it does work.
@DevilDman I agree. These people try to be scientific and fail miserably with their lochness and big foot ^^ but atleast some "try" and other made up facts to prove them...

That's an absurdity, if you look at basic history especially the Christian impact on say; the Roman empire it's clear there was a "Jesus" albeit that wasn't his name nor was he white, nor did he call himself the son of God, but 'Jesus' refers to a real person who walked the earth nonetheless
JihadiTV 2 years ago
@JihadiTV Please provide ONE SINGLE HISTORICAL REFERENCE to jesus, from that time period, other than the bible or similar religious works. JUST ONE. I'll be waiting....and waiting.....and WAITING. Post the necessary evidence to support your claim.
homeostasis4me 2 years ago
Err, Roman records of Pontius Pilot (So called executor of Jesus)
JihadiTV 2 years ago
@homeostasis4me You clearly lack historical training. There are 24,000 documents supporting Christ's existence. There are 10 supporting the existence of Julius Caesar, all written after his death. There are 3 supporting Socrates, again written after his death. There are plenty of historians who wrote about or mentioned Christ, but due to your ignorance in the field of history you think there is no evidence for Christ, when in reality there is more evidence for Him than anyone else. LOL
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen REALLY? Name one single document that relates his existence, based on firsthand experience, tht is not biblical scripture. JUST ONE. 24,000 "documents", INDEED! Put up or shut up. Provide supporting material, Ace. One firsthand nonbiblical account.
homeostasis4me 1 year ago
@emekonen Let's see how ignorant I am, Slick! I'll be verifing your supporting material-.trust me. Better do your homework.....
homeostasis4me 1 year ago
@emekonen I don't deny that he existed, I believe there was a man named Jesus who was born a while ago. But I don't think he had any supernatural powers or that he was the son of a so-called god or divine being..
DevilDman 1 year ago
@JihadiTV Absolutely, if Jesus was entirely fictional, then they could have just had his family coming from Bethlehem to fulfill "prophecy", but they invented that whole phony cesus thing to move his birthplace from Nazareth to Bethlehem. That makes me feel pretty strongly that there must have been a Jesus of Nazareth to inspire the new testement mythology.

so whats that fake quote prove, just because you write someone name in the end dont make it true, and just because you got it from website done make it true, i know so many websites and christians saying Charles Darwin became a christian in his deathbed. Well here is what charles Darwin said, "Kill atheist and people who believe in evolution, and also kill those who hate christianity"-Charles Darwin writes of Origin of Species. A christian wont hate christianity and darwin wont hate atheist.

SkyShaw 2 years ago
@SkyShaw Where have we got as a result of atheism? I will tell you where, 150 million deaths in under 100 years since the invention of atheist communism.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen actually atheism is much older than Communism. Going to 5 BCE, Diagoras of Melos was forced to flee from athens when he declared that there were no gods, and in 6 BCE the advent of buddhism created a major religion that had no true gods. And there are christian communists by the way.
SkyShaw 1 year ago
@SkyShaw So what does that have to do with anything? Communism is an atheist ideology. There is just as much logic for blaming atheism for those deaths as there is blaming Christianity for what people who considered themselves Christian have done. So whats the point? Atheism is responsible for more deaths, period.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen yeah...so I guess atheists are better at everything than christians huh? Better at math, art, science, and killing. BTW I decided rather than waste my time I'm just gonna mock you from this point on.
SkyShaw 1 year ago
@SkyShaw I have come to expect that from your terribly misinformed and ignorant replies to this video. Its ok to blame Christianity for things perpetrated by people, but when it comes to atheism, well thats just totally different. Get a life, and an education, lol.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen Don't want to intrude but, you can find statistics that show that there are more atheists that have a better education than christians as of 2007... sorry
DevilDman 1 year ago
@emekonen Sorry but communism is not an atheist ideology. According to Marx, communism is an order in the social stratification in societies which deem every class to be equal as all others. And atheism is not an ideology, because an ideology is a belief that justifies political and social actions. Atheism is the lack-of belief in any religion, which does not involve religious orientation or stratification. It is therefore in itself, opposite to what others claim.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Communism is an atheist ideology. Its not a coincidence that all the communist leaders were atheist, and the founders of it were atheist. And yes, atheism is indeed a belief. The definition of belief encompasses atheism, and even the definition of religion could indeed be applied to atheism. Its so easy to blame Christianity for everything, yet when it comes to atheism well then we must say that it is a "lack of belief", please.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen Atheism is not a religion. As my friend said: "Atheism is the absence of god-belief. All else is embellishment. Atheism has no dogma, no rites, no holy books, no places of worship and no clergy of any description. It offers no moral guidance, no political opinions and no world view" So no, it is not a religion. Go look up what religion actually means, and I am certain that you will not find the word 'atheist' in there.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@emekonen Here's an analogy if you still don't understand: Saying "Atheism is a religion" is like saying 'not collecting coins still makes you a coin collector'.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman So you do believe it is a belief, just not a religion? A belief is: an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists, or trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something. That is according to the New Oxford English Dictionary. Do you want to know the definition of religion? If atheism is a belief, as demonstrated by the definition, then could it not be a religion?
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen No, that doesn't make sense. Its a fallacy to say you believe that you don't believe in god. If you tell me that orange is a hair color, and I tell you that the person is bald, baldness is not a hair color. It is the absence of hair, just like atheism is the absence of belief.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Your definition does not make sense but saying, I do not believe in God DOES make sense. If you described yourself by everything you lack belief in, then you would be describing yourself for a long time. Who does that? For instance, "Sir would you like to register to vote? No thank you, I lack belief in voting." That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, yet somehow that makes sense to you.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen You have to put this conversation in a non-biased context. In your argument you prioritize religion and you revolve around it as well. Ignoring religious context, if you say that you do not believe in something, this does not classify you under any title or culture or religion. Your example of the voting person doesn't make sense. In that scenario one would say that the person is NOT a voter. Not, "i lack belief in voting." Saying atheism is a religion is like saying even though the
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman No, I gave you the definition of belief. Atheism fits within the definition of it. YOU said it is not religion, I said it is a belief. So now that I proved to you atheism is a belief you switched out the word for religion, and I asked you, so you agree it is a belief then? Since you switched words I tried to clarify. You are contradicting your own self. Atheism IS a belief, scientific atheism is a religion.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen So if I believe in unicorns, then what your saying is that the belief in unicorns is my religion. Great. Keep it up.
DevilDman 1 year ago 7
@DevilDman Well your entitled to that belief. Problem is validating your belief. Christianity has a foundation that reaches all the way back the beginning of history. Plenty of historical evidence to prove Christ existed, so its not as if there is no substance to our beliefs. How rational is it to attack a God you do not believe? Comparing unicorns to a religion that has thousands of years of historical evidence is ignorant and stupid.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen Just because there is historical evidence on Jesus (and yes I know there is) doesn't mean that there is a god. There is plenty of historical evidence that Egyptians have Sun and Sky gods, how come you don't believe in them? So if I say I don't belief that there is a god, then that doesn't mean that i've just found my new religion.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Good Point, problem is, I do believe them. I do not believe IN them though. There is also sufficient evidence for their existence, even in a Christian context. But just randomly making things up is no comparison and if you have any sense I think you would come to that realization.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen The problem with history is that it can be easily tampered with, especially if it is an ancient documented source. Furthermore, on this point, there is no empirical evidence for any divine beings. There are only historical claims that explain the behavior and events of what people did and believed at the time. So, explain to me what you mean exactly by evidence, other than the tampered papers of 'god'.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Ok so then if we must question any evidence for the existence of any deity, then whats to stop us from questioning everything that gets our panties in a bunge? You ask me to give you evidence, but then you give me stipulations as if you know anything about history, how history works, how things are dated, and what exactly makes something "evidence." So its no win for me, you set me up to fail based on YOUR personal bias and not fact.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen You can call this the strawman argument if you want, but I do know how history works, as I specialize in that field. I asked you to define what exactly evidence is in your perspective, and how you could reflect accurate evidence towards religion.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Thats pretty simple to answer actually. There are numerous sources that support the existence of Christ, as well as the OT. If you are trying to confuse evidence for God with evidence for religion, then you are not very good in your field. This is why believing in God is faith, knowing that Christ existed, due to clear evidence, is fact. Should we doubt every historical figure that does not meet our standards of what existence means?
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen We are still talking about evidence for god. Historical figures do not spontaneously arise, i know that. Their is factual sources that support the existence of Jesus, this I know as well. But what we will never be able to prove is that he was a son of some divine being, there will never be evidence for this. And taking a leap of faith for the existence of god, is the same as taking a leap of faith for evolution, and yet, creationists deny evolution.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Exactly. I never said I could prove Christ was God and you make a wonderful point with evolution. Based on the available evidence we both have come to different conclusions. Berating someone for that is unacceptable. I gave you accurate evidence for religion, that you seem to agree exists so I do not see what the fuss is about?
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen The fuss, and my point, is that not believing in god does not make that a religion. And you say it is because it is a belief, just like religion. Well this is fallacious because you can believe in many things: this doesn't mean you adopted a religion.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Atheism is a religion, according to the definition of religion. What your doing is applying your own personal definition of what religion is to this discussion, without actually knowing what it means. One could say "Consumerism is the new religion". Meaning it is a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance, New Oxford English Dictionary. According to your zealous defense of atheism it is clear that it is your religion and you are religious.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen First of all, there is a difference between a subjective and an objective statement. I'm sure you're bright enough to figure out what 'consumerism is the new religion' falls into. Second, religion has many definitions, one including the practice of religious belief, scrupulous conformity, and a value to be held of supreme importance. Atheism is not an ideology of supreme importance, it's a subjective judgment of an individual. If you still say it is, well then, afairyism is a religion.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman So then what is Christianity? I made no judgment whatsoever to believe in Christianity based on the available evidence? That HAD to be about the stupidest statement you have said yet. lol yea sure your a historian alright.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen You believe in Christianity because you took a leap of faith. What, you don't know what Christianity is? Do I have to explain to you that Christianity is a religion now? And by the way, most radical theists have the lowest percentage of education, which explains their ignorance. You support this with your own examples. What education do you have?
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman I know Christianity is a religion, so is atheism. Thanks for the blanket statement, backed with no facts. And nice ad hominim attack. Because I do not believe as you do, I am ignorant. I believe in Christianity because based on the evidence I believe it to be true. This is ignorance because I have come to a different conclusion than you? Sounds like there is no room for any belief other than your own. This conversation is over.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen What evidence. Christianity exists, we all know that. But what it tries to convey, is not supported by anything other than a book with many myths in it. So believe what you want, but this analogy says it all: A man who does not collect coins, does not mean that coin collecting is still his hobby. Atheism, can never be a religion. I think you should go search for the definition of atheism, and you might come back with some unambiguous points.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Some things are faith, some things are not. To make a blanket statement that ALL Christianity is myth proves your lack of intelligence. Of the three definitions of religion, atheism is definetly covered. Your lack of common sense clearly shows that you believe religion ONLY deals with God. Hence when I made a simple comparison you completely misunderstood. Your analogy makes no sense.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen Obviously you don't understand the analogy, and I don't feel like explaining it to you, its rather simple. And i did not say that ALL Christianity is myth, re-read my comment carefully. I said what it tries to convey. The practice of Christianity exists. However, what I said was what it conveys is backed up only by stories and myths in some ancient book in which people believe fell from the sky. And yes, religion is primarily God oriented. I don't what Christianity your talking about
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Well you are showing your immaturity and lack of education. I do not know a single person who believes the bible fell from the sky, lol. Just like any other historical text many things in scripture can historically be proven. Since you make such outrageous claims that the bible is full of myths and it fell from the sky, I want you to cite to me your sources. Until then do not reply to me, essentially this will end our communication.
emekonen 1 year ago
@DevilDman Seriously though, what makes you so qualified to make such broad statements? How much study have you done on this subject that enables you to make such accusations? I mean at 19 how much college education can you have?
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen Hoh boy, your not the brightest person i've seen. I am not 19 young one. I'm probably twice your age, and I teach Classics of Greek Mythology at the Cegep level. Now, if you want a source, look at Genesis where a man in the sky creates the world out of nothing, and creates a human out of nothing, and then creates a woman out of a man. Figure that one out. Creation science is as bologna as the spaghetti monster is.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman LOL like the alternative makes any more sense. Your deflecting the argument, I asked for sources on your claims that we believe the bible "fell from the sky" and is "full of myths". Your profile states that you are 19, the way in which you speak would suggest your much younger. If you want to brag, go ahead. You have proven nothing except your irrationality. You attack a God that you do not believe exists. lol
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen I think you are actually blind. Genesis is a myth. The story of Moses is another, the whole BIBLE is fiction. There's your source. Second, my initial point is that atheism is not a religion, i'm not attacking your little god. Third, if you would take a biology class, you'd know that evolution is more probable than anything you've read in your bible. Evolution has been proven many times, yet you creationists deny it. Just look at the experiment conducted by John Endler and David Reznick
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Here is the alternative. Matter decided to exist, it had to, because space had to, at some time, come into existence for matter to have space to exist. Evolution is about as probable as me winning the lottery every day of every month of every year for a few billion years. Maybe you believe in the multiverse theory or that the universe was always self existent, I dont know but your condescending attitude is definitely proof that you DID evolve from an ape.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen Even if I did evolve from an ape, i'd rather believe that than live a blind life praying and kissing the ass of a man in the sky. Keep praying, we'll see how many prayers your god answers. And by the way, you guys have one of the lowest educations and you do stupid things all the time just to seek attention. If you want more people converted to Christianity, at least set a good example instead of killing abortion doctors, making fun of homosexuals, and discriminating everyone else.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@emekonen Therefore, the belief in god only comesdown to your own opinion, hence faith. But it is nowhere near a source of empirical evidence.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Please dont put words into my mouth nor condescend to me. It seems to me that you have a serious problem with a God you do not even believe exists, that is irrational to me. I do not condescend to you or anyone else that disagrees with me, so why are you doing it to me?
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen And if your so smart, explain how there are famous and renown evolutionary biologists such as Theodisious Dobzhansky, Ehab Abouheif and others, who maintain religious belief and accept evolution.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman I personally know some theistic evolutionists, I should not have to explain their position. Personally I believe the reason for the 6 day creation is the establishment of structure and time FOR mankind, rational right? If it were in an instant its not logical, neither billions of years. They are entitled to their views but it does not make them right. We all come to conclusions based on the evidence, dont be arrogant because mine differs from yours, thats the bottom line.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen How is it not logical for creation to occur over billions of years? You said it yourself, we come to conclusions based on evidence. Evidence shows that it is impossible, for example, for the world to have been created 6 thousand years ago.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman Thats an interpretation based on Charles Lyell's belief that each layer of the earth equals a certain epoch. That is not proof, it is an interpretation. For instance when a fish dies, it floats, yet we find thousands of thousands of fossilized fish. This means that they somehow swam to the bottom of the ocean and laid there so that sediment could build up over them over a period of thousands, or millions of years. Logical? Its an interpretation buddy. Now leave me alone kid lol.
emekonen 1 year ago
@emekonen I think you should do your homework before you speak out. Take a geology class and a biology class and you won't embarrass yourself as much. What you said, is very, very primitive. Come back when you know a bit more about science.
DevilDman 1 year ago
@DevilDman LOL. So the geological column is not created by Charles Lyell? Look I am not condescending to you, like you are me, for believing what you do. We look at the evidence, which is NOT empirical, and come to different conclusions. You however seem to find it necessary to attack those who disagree, that to me is irrational and sad.
emekonen 1 year ago
@DevilDman the diffrence is, you and other atheist doesnt believe in unicorns.
thats why the logic is flawed. Tell me a serious scientist who actually believe in unicorns and who isnt making a joke, or spaghetti monster etc.
I dont belive in a God either, but I wouldnt compare the that the universe could have a meaning with a folklore that we can prove is made up today.

@quezcatol I probably would have to research serious scientists that believe in unicorns, (you never know), but there are other theories such as lockness monsters, aliens residing on earth, big foots, giant birds and unknown creatures that SERIOUS scientists believe in. So yes, it does work.
