hey does anyone knows how old you have to be in america to ride motorcycle with as much whp as you want ??? because in germany you can ride a 16 !! whp bike with 18 yrs and if you are 21 you can get as much whp as you want ! thx guys
That engine mapping feature is a great idea. I wish more motorcycles would have adjustable mapping features to enable more manageable riding in every day riding conditions. You don't need max fuel consumption and 160+ HP if you're on the freeway.
1st bike - 04' Ninja 500R, 2nd bike - 02' Yamaha R1, I suggest starting on something like a 500-600, 250's are no comment.. Anyway, I wouldn't be here if I didn't wear a helmet, if my 998cc R1 was my first bike I would most likely be dead. Been riding since 08', & depending on how you ride, get ready to pay rediculous insurance rates, thousands in fines, (depend's which police state you live in) & attorney fees! goodluck!
people are really dumb, theres no problem startin out on a 750. startin out with a 250 is totally a dealer money scam cuz they know youll keep wanting to move up and pay more money, no sense buyin a lil bike if your just gonna end up with this one in the long run... save your money
My first bike was an 06 750, 2nd 07 gsxr 1000 third was 06 daytona 675. I can only hope that this is my next bike. The 750 is the best out of those three, I regret selling that everyday of my life.
I'm 5'6 150 lbs. How low can I lower this bike? I want to start riding next summer. I also want to start out with a bike like this... a 750. I don't wanna go fast yet. It's my first time to ride. Advise...
holy crap. you want this to be your first bike?? i would HIGHLY suggest you don't. this bike will get you seriously injure or kill. beginners don't know how to be sensitive to the massive power that creeps up on the throttle if you don't have the experience. even a GSXR 600 would be too much. i've been riding for close to 20 years and i own a GSXR 1000. i still get scared from all the power. i recommend you start with either a ninja 250, 500, or 650. perfect to gain some experience.
Not the biggest GSXR fan, but I've heard the 11's are pretty good. Always liked the 750 though... wish Honda/Yamaha/Kawasaki could produce a 750cc sportbike. As far as looks? Still just looks like a run-of-the-mill GSXR to me. I like the look of the 2001 GSXR's :)
why the F dont they start including fuel gauges!!! 99% of the riding is on the street for god sakes. the only bike i ever had a fuel gauge on was my first bike a ninja 250... seriously. beautiful bike though
Worse? The last GSX-R generation (08-10) looked like dog shit. This looks much nicer, especially the stock pipe (which would go anyway) and the headlight configuration.
@fnogyrabyore It's not as much as some of the other manufacturers have been pulling out recently, sure. It's nothing to sneeze at though. There are a number of things that I love about the Gixer - instruments, ergonomics - but the colour schemes and the headlight treatment is a step back in my opinion. I'd still love to have one though :).
@FirEiLiE Only the japanese Sport bikes are getting Uglier every year which Sucks! The Euro Bikes are beautiful, and doesn't scacrifice performance while looking good. I Love The new ZX-10, but man Looks wise it doesn't hold a candle to the Ducati 1198S, the Aprilia RSV-4 Factory, or even the BMW S1000RR. I guess Japan feels they have to sacrifice good looks to get performance. This Gxxr looks like it was hit in the face like the Honda CBR 1000RR. I like good looks to go with performance!
yeah it is the bikes coming out of the jap factory's that are the worse looking, but i don't see how the styling on the fairings can hinder a bikes performance. the r6 is the only exception
@FirEiLiE I agree 100%! I honestly just don't get why they are sacrificing looks. It seems that mostly only die hard fans that will like whatever a brand uts out, are the only who probably doesn't see it, or even care that it looks worst. I understand they like the higher performance over the look. Perfect example is the CBR 1000 RR. In 2004-06 The bike was probably the best looking 1000 cc Jap bike of out all, but Honda went for higher performance but with it, they took away its hot Looks.
@supersayin1 Looks? Are your serious? This is a pure sports bike. It's function is it's purpose. You know as well as I do there are plenty of other bikes that can for fill the sports + looks category. This is a no holds barred bike an looks play no part. It's goal, besides it's target sports bike customers, is to compete in production based racing. If you hobble the bike with aesthetic requirements it would simply get hammered on the tack.
@eric1138 Honestly It wouldn't get hammer, Suzuki has faired very well on and off the race track, with head turning beauty and amazing performance on the track. I honestly don't feel you have to sacrifice good looks for performance. Ducati, Aprilia,KTM, BMW, and MV all prove this point. Check the W's that Ducati,BMW,and Aprilia have behind their names on the tracks. I UNDERSTAND YOUR POINT, but while it appeals to hardcore racers, it also has to appeal to people who want looks as well.
I just bought a limited edition isle of man TT suzuki gsxr 750 2007 and I'm only 17. It's cost me everything I earn! Worth it? DEFINITELY!!!

My advice : Keep it stock, put a PC V in, dyno, and flash the ECM to get rid of the restrictions.
