  • B.D.H is exquisite!

  • the lion must have escaped from the zoo...

  • originally it wasnt set in japan...then the lion would make a lot MORE sense

  • Shakespeare probably didn't care that there weren't any lions or mountain lions in France (yes, the original doesn't make sense either)

I don't think it's such a big deal either, although I now remember that one criticism which Shakespeare's friend and admirer Ben Jonson made of him as a writer was that he "wanted art and sense" because in The Winter's Tale for example he "brought in a number of men saying they had suffered shipwrack in Bohemia, where there is no sea neer by some 100 miles."

  • @slim0000shady I think no, not exactly the same because the setting of this film was the director's choice and I think no movie adaptation can recreate the exact story from the book of any kind without having to delete or change some scenes and script.

  • You gotta watch out for those vicious Japanese lions, folks...

  • i love how Celia calls her a dog in Elizabethan English.

  • lmao...ok..shakespere in japan??? i love this play/movie/ thing

  • in the book there is a snake first then the lion comes o_o is it just me or is celia really tall and really skinny, at least she looks that way when she's on the rock

  • OMG HHAHAHAHAHAHA I just noticed he wrote Roslyn In Kanji

makes sense since they are in japan

  • since when are there random lions in japan? o.O

I think in the actual story it was a mountain lion, they couldn't have gone with that?...

  • haha well there wernt lions in france were shakespear originally had the story take place

  • Since when??

    Since now!!! LOL

  • @mintedsalami LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mintedsalami the actual story isn't set in japan. It's supposed to be somewhere near france.

  • @mikhailcazi Yes, but even then it's not an African lion.

  • @mintedsalami maybe in 1500s they imported lions. :P :P or they may have had them. :P who knws.

  • @mintedsalami To be honest, the original play is set in France, and there aren't many lions there either...

  • wait.. is that jaques??? the 2nd son?

  • no there is the melancholy jaques and the jaques the brother.

  • err.. one of them is spelt with a 'c' in them... but i was just asking about the guy with the lion
