Shakespeare probably didn't care that there weren't any lions or mountain lions in France (yes, the original doesn't make sense either)
I don't think it's such a big deal either, although I now remember that one criticism which Shakespeare's friend and admirer Ben Jonson made of him as a writer was that he "wanted art and sense" because in The Winter's Tale for example he "brought in a number of men saying they had suffered shipwrack in Bohemia, where there is no sea neer by some 100 miles."
how come oliver didn't recognized celia ? they were practically living in same place before the girls escaped...so this is how blind a man gets when in love?^^
@slim0000shady I think no, not exactly the same because the setting of this film was the director's choice and I think no movie adaptation can recreate the exact story from the book of any kind without having to delete or change some scenes and script.
in the book there is a snake first then the lion comes o_o is it just me or is celia really tall and really skinny, at least she looks that way when she's on the rock
B.D.H is exquisite!
