i dont understand. my mother when to the pc shop because there was a virus, she comes home and tells me there was a virus and she had to pay $60 dollars to get the virus fixed. is facebook a virus or not? :\
yes but in tests my friend did mbam vs superantispyware aginst a infected computer and 1/20 times superantispyware did better then mbam mbam went 19/20.
@commando189 - It very much depends on the malware as both programs are similar but work in different ways. There are also many other tools which remove other unwanted junk from infected machines :-)
Not that social networks are useless but some groups of people are quite naive and actually believe that they have to accept an agreement or have their accounts terminated. One more thing I would like to add is always use Google to find out if the email is legitimate before opening an attachment or clicking on a link. =D Btw, 5/5! =P
4DarkAces - As you say, the problem is that many are naive and sadly they are the ones who open these attachments without any form of research. Educating users is a long uphill battle which will continue :-)
Danerd9 - Social networks have their uses, and by the same token, are also the target for malware. Having large memberships malware spreads more easily so users need to be aware :-)
Danerd9 - At the moment anything is better than IObit, they have really shot themselves in the foot, SUPER, like MBAM, is well established and works well, although those two have also fallen out in the past but now get along well with differences resolved. Two different apps that work in slightly different ways, both good though :-)
DjToronto4 - There is koobface circulating within facebook as well as many other forms of malware. Emails apparently from 'Facebook Security' or 'Facebook Support' are purely malicious in their intent and once downloaded and unzipped they deposit their payload with nothing for users to see. Removal is pretty simple though :-)

What's the file name of the UPS virus?
I recently accidentally loaded it, used Malwarebytes, and it successfully found and destroyed a malware program.

@ kevlonk - Currently it is Bredolab and also variants of Braviax :-)

SuperHumanPerfect - Both work slightly differently, MBAM being faster than SUPER but having both as on-demand scanners is a good combo :-)
