I know of a more sophisticated operation going on where they have cameras hung from the ceiling in each theater. They use High Quality Digital cameras that have manual adjustable exposure set on low enough that it does not cause white bursts and the audio is patched in using the theaters headphone device for the hearing impaired. I offered them to make a little change to use a dolby digital input DVD recorder instead. Now the sound will be in 5.1 as it down mixes from 7.1!
One of my old friends (who i don't like anymore) tried this and he got away with it but he didn't sell it or put it on limewire for ppl to download etc.

i work at a theater and one time i saw this guy filming the movie so i grabbed a hammer and smashed his camera and said "enjoy the movie sir"
