  • Hey Eric. What do you think about a 95 Camaro LT1 with intermittent tach problems and intermittent no-start with an occasional stall? Replaced crank sensor, no fix. Wiggle the crank sensor connector seems to help, but this may be coincidental, as it goes right back to not starting in minutes - but then may start and run for 30mins no problem.. I see codes like P0372.

  • @BoxingJ Keep in mind the tone ring is also a part of that signal, if it's damaged in anyway it could also cause issues and a code like that. If it's inside on the crank however and you have a manual trans check your thrust bearings as this can cause the crank to walk out of position causing a loss of signal.

  • Hey Eric I like your stand on the pod casts. Sometimes you have to make a tough call like that but its a neccesary call

  • @chrisr1672 Thank you for your input, looking back I would not have done anything differently especially since I know what's coming to you the viewer in the not too distant future. :)

  • anyone who wants eric to employ some of his recently discovered radio voicing skills in his FATR episodes please thumb up! :)

  • and lastly, because of YOU and your videos, (which I keep downloading, in case you will get tired of broadcasting, I have already copies.) I've learned to have SELF-CONFIDENCE on how to deal with troubleshooting the problems of my car. I've learned a lot from you. You are such a NICE "dirty guy"..hahaha! Keep up the good work and think about my suggestion. I hope others who keep following you will agree with me. If they don't..for all I care..hehehe! They can go to hell! hahaha!

  • @maribethbgallemit88 I'll take your suggestions to heart thank you. In a way I'm kind of working on something to help make my life easier and make more information available to the viewers, trust me I'm well aware of how much time I spend doing this but it is something that I love to do so it really doesn't seem like work. I do however appreciate your concern and thank you very much for your comments it means a great deal to me, thank you.

  • Eric, deal with us on a "One is to One" basis. I am sure all your efforts are compensated and you will continue to do what you are doing with a smiling face rather than trying to explain to us the efforts that you are doing yet some don't understand as if begging us to understand.. when you are doing such a GREAT job for us and that is lessening expenses to troubleshoot the problem of our cars. Eric, you have good brain and we do appreciate it because you SHARE....GREATFUL in all that you do:-)

  • Eric, we need your brain to guide us in how to go about making our cars running in good condition. The reason why you have many followers. If you won't do it. I believe one day you will get exhausted and stop all these but! for us who needs you..what will happen to us who are already dependent on you..so please and I hope you will try to analyze things. Be practical! you need us and we need you. Meaning..the "give and take" attitude. Hope you will agree with me. Thanks for all your videos.

  • Also, some don't understand the EXTRA EFFORTS that you are doing just so we can get to lessen our expenses. You are just SHARING your knowledge when it comes to cars. Yet people are not thankful. So if i may suggest, deal only with people who appreciate what you are doing and then charge us for the knowledge shared. You need to earn for your family. You are not oblige to teach people without something in return because you spend your time doing those videos and its not easy like others think.

  • Hey Eric, me here from the Philippines. I've viewed some of your other videos where you were explaining your side about doing good yet some doesn't understand. Well, as the saying goes.. you can NEVER please everybody. That is right! Remember, JESUS CHRIST came on earth to SAVE mankind yet what did HE get in return? You see.. so don't expect all people to enjoy and be thankful in all that you do. But for those who enjoys like me. Be happy!!! This is where you can get your satisfaction. Hehe!

  • i think my ignition system is good. i have changed a bunch of stuff in that. there is also a new fuel pump, fuel tank and filter. all lines were cleaned out. all i can think of is the fuel pressure regulator or leaky fuel injectors, but i don't see the injectors leak. what do you think it could be? i was kinda leaning more toward the fuel pressure regulator. what could it be? o love your videos by the way lol!

  • @nico27004 Have you checked fuel pressure?

  • @EricTheCarGuy yea i did. seems to loose pressure after it sits for over a day. i know that the regulator hasn't been changed since 1984 lol! i just wanted your opinion on what it could be so i can go in the right direction.

  • toyota pickup is hard to start after sits for days and misfires after turned on. it has a new cap and rotor, plugs and wires. could that be fuel infectors or something like that?

  • @nico27004 If you know your ignition system is in good order then the next step I would take is to check the fuel pressure especially when the problem is present.

  • Hi from the UK stumbled across your videos a while back and think they are great keep up the good work, even as a HGV mechanic who rarely touches cars i can still appreciate then and the time and effort it must take plus you should never stop learning things even if you never work on them you may do one day eh? Speaking of workshop pranks have you seen the airbag one called idiotic airbag prank?

  • @BrettyUK In fact I'm looking at doing some videos on diesels and trucks at some point as I do like to learn new things as you point out. I haven't see the video you refer to but it sounds fun. Thanks for your comments.

  • Can you explain how an automatic transmission works? Please thank you.:)

  • @I4Inst1nct There is actually one sitting behind me in this video that I plan to use to cover that at some point.

  • @EricTheCarGuy Alright man for sure thanks.

  • hey Eric i was going to get a pulley puller tool for a crankshaft pulley and just for other pulleys. do i need a special pulley pusher for my 1984 Toyota pickup 22r or can i use just a universal one?

  • @nico27004 You don't normally need an installer as you can draw them up with the fastener most times in my experience.

  • where is this video your talkin bout?

  • @curtis9188 You might be able to find it on my FB posts but it's probably far down in the history by now.

  • No way Eric - Ahh the brake shop vid, my highest rated comment for some time lol

  • Do you have to do, Eric

  • Eric, Although I am disappointed that the podcast will no longer have your input, I can understand. We all are presented with choices and your decision as to how you use your time is indeed yours. I look forward to your other videos. Grace and Peace

  • @docdavidb I will have other things that I hope will make for a better interaction with the viewers for the not too distant future. I appreciate your comment very much.

  • Eric don't stress out and don't worry about keeping to a strict schedule. I watch because I learn about auto repair period. I would be happy with just one video a month.

  • @MrFer5900 Believe it or not the schedule is more for me than anyone but thanks for your concern and for your comment.

  • Hey buddy, got another question for you. I did a compression check on my Jeep the 5.9 v8 . I did a dry and a wet test (with oil squirted in the cylinders).

7 cylinders dry test average was 162psi (they all were between 160 and 165), wet test 7 cylinders were average around 167 psi (most of them were between 166-169)

However number 2 cylinder dry test was 149-150psi, and with oil it was 155psi. This one seems to be around 10-15psi lower then the rest.. is this ok ?? Seems a little low

  • @1ownjoo2 Next do a leak down test to determine where the compression is going, I did a video on that that shows the process and how to interoperate the results.

  • why cant canadians participate?

  • @ishtimal International shipping is a real pain these days.

  • Who could possibly dislike Eric's videos!? Facepalm

  • I'm watching your videos from France..... for me you are awesome... An incredible human person, a wonderful interesting carguy, and your video are really well done.... You are spending a lot of time to show some of your tricks and art...... one word THANK YOU Eric!!!!!!!

  • @feeldiben Thank you very much for that comment, it's been a tough day so far and your comment really brought a smile to my face so thank YOU.

  • hey i have to remove the rear drum brakes on a 2000 dodge durango to install new lugs and could not for the life of me get the drum off,i tried heat hammers, pry bars, and i also saw ur video on removing drum brakes with 2 bolts but i do not have the wholes on the drum, any help or advice would be greatly apriciated. and keep up the great work :)

  • @tuxedo94 I do not recommend heating a brake assembly BTW. There is a special tool that is available for drums that won't come off like that that you might want to see if you can track down. Also if it's hanging up on the shoes try and back the adjuster off before you attempt to remove it. Good luck.

  • watch?v=XCZkWeO4Dso&feature=related

  • @mh89780 Thank you very much and I will.

  • What normal repair videos? lol And again why do people change a good thing because of a few people who were not smart enough to make their comments BIG ? Lame.

  • @jtman04401 No matter what I'm going to continue making the best videos I can, it is what I do after all.

  • I wasn't aware there was any "drama" going on, but now that you bring it up. When you started to build up to it I thought for a second there you might be telling everyone you really never cared for cars and where a scooter (Vespa) nut this whole time. Scared me there :)

  • @moofushu LOL, seriously you killing me with this.

  • Nice job Eric, let's hang out and have a few beers....

  • @int53185 That sounds GREAT about now.

  • wow this is why i do my own brake work. At what point did one of them think that would be a good idea?

  • @ChefRaiden Tell me about it.

  • i am definitely a hard-core ericthecarguy fan

  • @KillerZero259 And I love you for it!

  • how did you ship that toolbox out to texas eric?

  • @KillerZero259 I didn't, the people that sponsored the contest shipped it.

  • I watched tiny's video, and i have to say I agree with him on some things, it has semed like you have changed eric, and I miss the old videos showing how to rip out engines and watching someone else's technique. I had emailed you a few times don't think you remember and don't expect you to but i am a tech for land rover and i enjoy watching your videos for the same reason tiny does, to watch how someone else does things, and i am excited for the tool vids, im into tools, but i want repair vids

  • @bobmellon I hear you but know that I have more repair videos on the way as well as tool videos (which I hope to start posting next week). I have changed but I would like to think for the better. Thanks for your comment and for your viewership.

  • While it was a little disappointing to find out you were not going to be doing the podcast (mostly because I just figured out how to download and listen to it on my phone while at work), I can definitely know where you are coming from. Video editing can be very time consuming, especially a quality video such as yours. I think some people believe that all you have to do is shoot and upload, when that is only a small part of the process. Keep doing what you're doing and the subscribers will come.

  • @md95603 Your understanding is appreciated more than you know, thanks very much for your comment.

  • Very cool job man. Do what you have to do. We'll be here.

  • @1967800 Thank you.

  • One day I'll drive a car that lifts the front tires and does the quarter in the single digits.. haha. Anyway, you do a great deal to help a lot of viewers, with paid tutorial videos, and the general knowledge videos, emails, etc. But, any given person can only do so much, and hopefully some of your followers can realize this. Family is important as well, and you have to make time for them as well. Anyway, keep up the good work dude, you go above and beyond and that's what makes you awesome.

  • @hellraiser319 I've been wanting a car that pulls the front wheels off the ground for a long time now, still working on it. Thanks very much for your comment, it means a lot.

  • I love your channel man!! Its awesome and I consider you a great friend

  • @ndchevy Thank you for that comment friend, it means a lot.

  • Eric has a lot on his plate right now! He might even took a little bit more on than he can handle and I actually hinted to Eric to quit the Pod Casts. I didn't really find them interesting but I never miss an episode on Youtube. With all the time and energy Eric is doing for us to produce these videos Im suprised he has time for his actual customers! I love Eric the Car Guy and will always support his channel just because I know Eric cares about the quality information he gives his viewers.

  • @MoneyMarcMes I appreciate your understanding more than you know. I plan to be doing ETCG for a while and I just want to put my time where it can do the most good. Thanks for your comment.

  • F that guy Eric. you do great work and great videos. Get recognized, getting more watchers and perks are signs your doing a good. Keep it up.

  • @outlawsonic Thank you, I will.

  • Eric, have you ever thought about doing daily vlogs? Just random stuff and maybe post it on ETCG1.

  • @trunitemare I have but to be honest that 'time' thing comes into play again. I am however working on ways to connect with more fans more often however, stay tuned.

  • Keep it up buddy

  • Makin a video takes a really good amount of time. Whn i first saw ur videos, i was like "wow" it sure doesnt just take 5 minutes to edit a video. thease videos take hours and hours of prep, to get them as understandable as possible. Your doin an Outstanding job, keep it up, your my Auto shop teacher number 2! lol Thanks for everything! Really Appresiate it.

  • @josephltz400 I love your comment thanks for posting it.

  • Great video Eric.I really enjoy your videos and I look forward to your future videos.I always share them on fb and twitter bc you do make really good videos.

  • @tinydx95t2 Thank you very much for that and for your continued viewership, it does mean a lot to me.

  • YES!! The overheating disc brake video link I sent made the cut!!!

  • @sbakar It sure did, thanks!

  • Keep up the good work, your doing a great job.

  • Hey eric!!! Whats up with those birds man? Lol...

Keep up the good work man,

And I want to say thank you for sharing your knowledge, your time and responses,

Cuz all the people will share things but only few will share knowledge, just the way you are doing it FOR FREE!!! But as long as you feel great with your self by helping people out this way, at the end, thats what it matters...

    God bless you my friend...

  • @baloncito44 I really do love doing this. It's funny you mention the birds because shortly after shooting this video while shooting another video one flew right into the shop. Thanks for your comment.

  • I CANT FIND THE FACEBOOK PAGE! help please? :)

  • @lol123321123321 You can either click the link on my webpage (first link in the description of this video) or look me up under EricTheCarGuy all one word.

  • @lol123321123321 EricTheCarGuy, all one word. You can also click the link at the bottom of any page on my website.

  • Video editing can be VERY painstaking. Whenever I've shot, it's usually at least for however long my battery or memory lasts (which is about an hour). And then from that footage, you have to try to condense what you're explaining down to under 10 minutes. To make something that is presentable, a lot of times you end up editing out even things you liked in the video; or else have to re-shoot (which I have found never feels quite as authentic the 2nd time around). It's takes a lot of thought.

  • @youfrancis It is a time consuming dance that's for sure but if done right video can be a very powerful tool and a great way to convey concepts and ideas. Thanks for the comment.

  • @EricTheCarGuy Anyway, no complaints here, Eric. Thank you for taking the time--that you very evidently take--in posting a video always.

  • pick winners that are broke, not those live in a mansion...

  • @wangbungal

There's a reason why he lives in a mansion. Think about it.

  • your video's are great, keep doing what you need to do !

  • the amount of sun ray you got there in Texas reminds me of middle east suns ! .

  • That was really great Eric ! Again, I apologize as well for causing this hole 'drama' , because Tiny's intention to do this video came from the things I told him and pretty much out of my corner.

I hope you read my email and know where that was coming from.

But doing my own videos, I should have known better how much this takes you and should have been proud of what you achieved lately, instead of critizising you that hard and overhasty.

    I'm sorry.

(PLEASE LIKE MY COMMENT SO ERIC CAN SEE IT!)

  • @TheGetawayer No worries man, like I said back in Episode 1, we aren't always going to agree just give me the opportunity to have my say and I will do the same for you. Your comments are always appreciated even if they aren't telling me how great you think I am because to be honest that really doesn't serve much of a purpose.

  • we salute you eric....if you need to take time...all we care about is that the video's are done like you want it and get out...but we dont care about the time it takes...if you need to do the Fatr's every 2weeks or something like that...

  • @clony101 I actually like doing the FATR's, they're fun and it gives me a chance to talk about new and exciting things.

  • My wife does Facebook, but I haven't gone there, except to look your name up. I guess I can't see the video that you refer to, unless I sign on to Facebook, but that's not gonna happen this month.

Personally, I like the recent efforts you have made.

    A lot.

The last video, step by step of EGR passage cleaning, was vintage ETG. It's so cool that you stay dirty, even though you have to be sidetracked a little, to do your new job. I think most of us know that you'll stay in the trenches.

  • @spelunkerd No doubt, you wouldn't be watching now if not for the repair videos, my only interest is to make them better. Thanks very much for your input and comment.

  • I for one am not exactly missing having you on the podcast b/c when it comes down to ether listening to a podcast vs watching your videos, your videos win hands down. I've noticed an uptick his week alone in your video production. 4 videos in 1 week WOW! 1. Mondays fix it video on the '99 TL. 2. The ETCG1 video on Bad Mechanics. 3. Wednesdays 2.0 from the tool show & finally this video. Very impressive Eric.

  • @Michiganborn1969 Oh yea, and if I have my way it's only going to get better. As always thanks for your comments.

  • well i happen to be satisfied customer! keep up the good work Eric!

  • @wigsplittin26 My favorite kind of customer!

  • Pig Pile on Eric!!!!

    Raaaaaaaahhhhhh!!

  • @Yaheuben66 AAAAAAAAhh

  • The guy that won the tool box looks like he lives in a mansion.

  • @36theghost lol its like he lives in a trailer, right next to all the mansions

  • @36theghost Yea, it's a better house than mine. He still won fair and square.

  • @EricTheCarGuy Agreed.

  • @36theghost What is your definition of a mansion?
