I -and scores of others- believe that Joey is a very good lead singer! He had a very unigue voice! His voice (with Johnny's guitar) is what really drove them...

Now maybe some would have a valid complaint regarding Joey's looks. He did look weird...But still- the Ramones overall set out what they wanted in this world and did a damn good job of achieving that.
