It's kind of weird that this song sounds a lot like Pearl Jam's "Black". What's also weird is that Pearl Jam has a song called "Daughter", ok, I'm rambling like an idiot now.
This is the only version I have ever heard n I love it! It almost makes me cry everytime because my mom dedicated it to her 2 sisters years ago and my husband just dedicated it to his sister today... I'm an only child n wish I had an older brother like my hubby is to his lil sis :-(
QUERIDA HERMANA,EL TEMA ME LLEGO A LO MAS PROFUNDO DEL CORAZON,SIEMPRE QUE LO ESCUCHO SE ME HACE UN NUDO EN LA GARGANTA AL RECORDAR TAN LINDOS MOMENTOS QUE PASAMOS JUNTAS,QUIERO QUE SEPAS QUE AQUI YO ESTOY BIEN NO QUIERO QUE TE SIENTAS TRISTE SABES QUE EL TIEMPO PASA RRAPIDO Y PRONTO ESTAREMOS TODOS REUNIDOS OTRA VEZ.
The first Song i Heard from my sister was this.i spent 8 mnths in syd..her in bris..with my car..we were crusin..this came on..l had no idea...she died 2 mths later...it took me nearly 4mths trying to find it...i sung the song to a chick in wodonga...hahaha...she knew..and i found it...thank u...and yes vicki...i miss u..
God, i cried listening to this song so many nights; it meant the world to me 10 years ago.
The nice thing is that, differently from most people here, it wasnt me dedicating this song to anyone but it was dedicated to me by my then best (boy) friend whom i loved so much, i couldnt have loved any more. Here I am again Overwhelming feelings A thousand miles away From your ocean home Part of me is near Thoughts of what we were invade The miles that stand between We can't separate Your all I hoped you'd become Sister I see you Dancing on the stage Of memory Sister I miss you Fleeting visits pass Still they satisfy Reminders of the next Overshadow goodbye Our flames burn as one
All I am begins with you Thoughts of hope understood Half of me breathes in you Thoughts of love remain true Here we are again saying goodbye Still we fall asleep underneath the same sky You're all I knew you'd become (chorus) Entwined, you and I Our souls speak from across the miles Intertwined, you and I Our blood flows from the same inside Half of me, breathes in you Thoughts of love remain true I see you, I feel you When I close my eyes I see walking there... I see you dancing in my mind
this song reminds me of my late father and my late aunt. they were so close and she moved to cali @ 17y/o.....then my dad passed away and she was so depressed...she ended up passing away 3 years later. and now they are together in Paradise yeaaah
Remember buying this CD when I was 12 years old back in 1995. My god this song brings back so many memories it almost brings a tear to my eye. Great tune, hadn't heard this in ages, thanks for posting!
I remember when my mom took me to see them back in 94. I was in fourth grade. It was my very first concert. My sis ( who was in 6th grade) got beer spilled on her. The lead singer lost his shoe while he was doing a jump into a smash grunge style. But he finished the song while he tied his shoe and was wearing bright red (p)leather pants. It was my most memorable and fave concert I have ever been to. I freakin' love this song and the Nixons! I get teary for this song. I <3 U mandy Gayle! :)

BROADWAY in NYC...very different individuals & talents, but, always,as ONE...in my mind & heart! It's time...lil' sis...SHINE ON !!!:)

My brother is a few hundred thousand miles from me and this song is the only song that really reminds me of his undying and unfailing love for me, especially when a relationship ends. We truly love each other and even in eternity we will love each other. Great song!
Seriously, one of the best songs ever written, ever sung and performed. This touches my heart and soul more than you could ever imagine. My sister, my identical twin . . . sister, I miss you.
@whitneydavis18 because, unfortunately, teeny boppers took over the planet for some reason unknown to man....... grunge just isn't cool anymore..... wish we could stay in the 90s forever.....
@silversecond22 teeny boppers took over because big companies decided to stop targeting everyone and focus on the impressionable douchebags, and as such the the easily lead nature of these douchebags is the easy way out, so people just craft their shit to meet them half way >:o
A lot of songs from this era of music don't even necessarily need to say anything lyrically about something you've experienced for you to feel it so deeply.... My sister is practically the only family I have left... her and my uncle and some distant relatives... I lost my mom in 05 and it changed my life forever... BUt I like this song a lot... I love 90's rock in general
My brother posted this on fb for me today because I moved 1500 miles away from home 10 years ago and am moving back and having to sell everything I own basically to make it possible.....made me cry but also showed me how much he loves me!
I saw the Nixons in 1998 during the St Patrick's Day festival in Savannah, Ga. It was a free concert. in the street. The "mosh pit" got out of control. Fights broke out and the police used pepper spray stop them. The show ended abruptly.
I saw them for $5 at a small venue. It was one of the best times ever! They lost the lights for a few but kept playing. I think it was the bassist who had scary clown makeup on and was spitting water into the audience. Low budget show but they were awesome!!
Wow, it's been years since I heard this song. Came across it in the Related Videos column while listening to Might Joe Plum's "Live Through This". Knew the title sounded familiar, but couldn't put a tune to it. Within the first three words I was like "OOH!" Great, great song, and a personal favorite.
When I was 8 I was thrown out of my house and told to make my own way. after 2 weeks in an orphanage my sister came to get me from the home an raised me till I was 18 years of age. It took me four more years to realize the sacrifices she made for me so every time I play this it is for my dear sister, who even at 15 raised me from the day I was born and came back for me 8 months after she moved out.
Way awesome song, definitely in my top 10 fav. Heh I know Scott the guitarist..actually was married to my mom's best friend so I got an autographed CD and everything which was way awesome ^^
@toedai1980 - Yeah, I feel yeah! I lost a REAL good friend that was a girl. She wasn't my sister, but, we were SOOOOOOO close. Then, she betrayed me over a "Friend of a friend". This song came out, like, literally a month after she cut me out of her life. My morning alarm would wake up to the radio. They always would play this song every now and then when I would wake up hearing it. It totally put me in a bad mood. I haven't talked to her in sixteen years. I got over her, this song didn't help!
@toedai1980 I lost my brother in 1999 and he was 25. I miss him and this song makes me think of him, how he was such a good brother to me and how he never got to see me grow and become who I am.
@toedai1980 I feel the same. Just lost my sister. Only 24 years old. I have loved this song for a long time but never thought I would be listening to it this way. rip karli. My soul is torn.
