  • my granny did doilies. i dont have the eyesight for it but i enjoy using yarn. i guess each individual learns bit by bit and passes it on. wether you are 20 sumthing or 40 or 60 u can always learn a new skill.

  • at 0:53 that is a pretty pattern - and tiny crocheting supplies - cool :D

  • I've been crocheting for a while (mostly blankets) but have been doing it incorrectly (and im left handed) so it has been hard for me to follow books etc. But every video I've watched of yours my work has turned out beautifully so thanks for clearing my confusion of this fun art! -jen

  • can you show how to crochet a lace shawl. Hoping to see your tutorial soon. Thank you

    your big fan

  • Where would the long crochet stitches be used other than in doilies? Also, your doilies are beautiful. Have you thought about doing a specific doily video, for instance how to create one? I've seen that you've done videos on how to join motifs, but it looks like many of your doilies are all one piece.

  • You can use the "long" or "spike" stitches at any point throughout a row in an afghan or granny square. They are done the same way. If you are using it on an afghan, you could spike done 2 or 3 rows. It gives the afghan an added texture and design look.

  • I just found your video tonight. Thank you so much! I just took a class las nite and am having some problems so watching you has helped immensely! The hardest part for me seems to be the stitches into the chain. For some reason I can't seem to tell if I've already stitched into a chain. If I start w/ 15 chains, do i assume that I will only have 12 stiches since i begin w/ the 3rd chain?

  • You are welcome. Sometimes it will help to make the chain looser so you can see where you are putting the hook through the chain.

  • i have nevered crochet befor. i have been curious about it. i'm only 22 but i love making things. maybe one of these days when i eventually learn i might turn to you for tips! its people like you who do simple things but inspire many!!!!

  • Thank you very much.
