i was a very young boy when this came out in theaters and I wasn't allowed to see it owing to my age. Shakespeare's classic will go on thru the ages. In retrospect, I am left puzzled that at Shakespeare's time such a drug that lets you feign death for a short period should be in vogue in Italy. Doesn't anyone think it was too alien for the culture? Where did Shakespeare dig this concept from, China? Asia? I hope to be enlightened coz I can't remember details of the story. Thanks for the upload.

@tuberobotto Im guessing that shakespeared added it simply to make the play more tragic. after all, without the potion, romeo would not have killed himself, and juliet would not have either. but that could just be me. im reading the book in school but its amazing and i have becomd a little obsessed with it.

My favourite love story of all time. I saw this when it first came out in 1968; I was VERY young.(my parents were ok with me seeing it as it was Shakespeare!)

Even at such a young age I was totally enraptured(totally identified with Juliet and was head over heels over Romeo!)

Romeo and Juliet in under 6 mins ..........and yet I'm actually crying!! Thank you very much for your video. It truly is perfect especially with the music. One of the few songs that can be played at both weddings and funerals. I thought the final shot of your video made sense to see their faces together in the end instead of being distant.
