Please don't take this in the wrong way but maybe put a top part on top of the cage. When my chihuahua was only 5 months old she broke her leg [my brother threw her at a leg of a table...a metal table] and she had to go through several surgeries. She's fine now but she never got to enjoy her 'puppy hood.' Anyways cute pup!

I used to have a chihuahua named Shorty who kept getting out of his pen. One day I decided to hide and watch him. Sure enough he started to scale the side of it, one little hole at a time! We had a box on the side though so he jumped onto that then the floor. I always wondered if it was because he had an extra toe on each foot...

Ahh don't worry about what ppl say rkvlk... People think these dogs are so fragile and they really aren't unless they have a problem with their bone density (which is usually due to bad breeding) Mine fell down the stairs and was fine. These people have nothing better to do than to worry about what other people are doing with their pets. And its not like you were laughing about it, you were just trying to catch him in the act. Pretty amazing that this little guy can jump that high tho!

SO MANY things could go wrong in this. Even a torn off claw. and for the people saying crate trainin is cruel..which is untrue.. your pup will love you if you train it correctly it will also be a lot happier and with crate trainin it is actually very quick if you do it right..i trained my chi is about a month and she is 9months now and still goin strong..never an accident.

my chi used to climb over one of those kiddie fences that I used to keep her in the kitchen! I caught her in the act, balanced at the top. I think it was the only time she ever tried it. That was when she was very young, she is 12 years old now and still 2 and 1/2 lbs. Very cute!
