With all due respect to Adobe, The whole 3D stuff is just extremely half-assed and feels very forceful. If Adobe wants to get in to 3D then just create a 3D application. Don't waste your time and money on silly things like repousse, this is just polluting a great professional application like Photoshop..

@kaito2005 I agree entirely. It's a bit like desktop publishing programs like Quark adding web building tools that aren't needed in desktop publication programs. If I want to build websites I would buy Dreamweaver or something cheaper.

Re Grayed out. Open GL needs to be turned on in CS5 preferences. If it can't be turned on it means your video card isn't powerful enough like on the Macbook pro 2.2 or the driver needs updating {on windows machines only}. There is a possible solution for those unfortunate enough to own a laptop with a card that doesn't have enough umph & that is an external video card solution. For example check out ViDock. I'm going to look into it - and looks useful for other applications and gaming.

Im on a MacBook Pro and this feature is working ridiculously slow. In the Repousse window it takes about 30 seconds to re-render every time i change the material or shape preset, and that's just when I click on it to see what it looks like. I dont know much about raytracing, but a box starts scanning across the image every time I turn on raytracing and it doesn't stop unless I click somewhere.

The new Illustrator features are really awesome, but Photoshop is just slower and bulkier.

Wrong btw. no perspective for the text and the materials are ridiculous. This feature is too particular for an image editing tool, such as PS. If you Adobe want to make such features, make a extra software for it. I wont buy this bloatware.

ok i cant use repousse, something my video card not having the right requirements, anyway to fix? i own a top of the range laptop and if iit cannot handle this sort of thing then maybe adobe should rethink this feature as many people will be having the same problem.

I think this feature is stupid is it this why photoshop is getting slower and slower who asked for 3d features ?? ....if someone did have him do that in 3d program and bring it to photoshop and it looks like a mac UI ever since cs3 what's that!!! I am so disappointed in photoshop
