You go inside hell in mission 20.You see a real hell climate.You keep on on mission 21 after fighting Nightmare.Volcano all around and those Nobodys and that thing that damages you that comes out of the ground when you stay in one position for a little longer.Then you finish Mission 21 and go to Mundus' cathedral.First thought 'I thought Heaven and Hell were different':xD.

The most messed up part of the game, throughout it gets increasingly darker and there's even the intestine level just before entering this room.

Then at last there's this, a chapel with a statue of God? No, the statue is Mundus and the room is an illusion, but the damage is already done, you've already spent the entire cutscene wondering how a room like this is in the darkest depths of Hell.

there are such things as angelic looking demons as another mockery to god

i think its sinister and clever at the same time...

Well that's what it looks like, but like all illusions, it's not really there.

As for angelic demons, Satan was an angel himself, so were several demons, apparantly a third of the angels in heaven joined Satan's fall.

Which is what I don't really get about DMC, I don't know about 2 or 3, but in this and 4 there's no real angels or mention of god or heaven.

@Threadnaught Nero mentions 'God' at the end of 4. It's one of his most famous lines I believe. If you want angels look no further than Bayonetta, made by the same mastermind as DMC1. Hehe~

@TheMostBleedingHeart Man honestly i think dmc 1 has the best gameplay style.Dcm3`s is too repetitive and boring and the devil triigger in it feels like a power up ratehr than dmc1 devil trigger will feels like you got powerful.

It was nut swhen I first played the level, after the whole instestine style stage I was ready for the most vile apparition that hell could spew out, only to walk into the cathedral looking place. I felt somewhat soothed and had a faint feeling that the game was over and everything was going to be ok...
