  • DAMN HIPPIES!!!

  • @Roninartillery

What the fuck is your problem with peaceful people?

  • @MultiRadar01 - They should give war a chance!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Roninartillery

We would not get any way with war.

  • @MultiRadar01 - WAR BRINGS PAIN, BUT WAR IS NECESSARY. WAR BRINGS PEACE, 'CAUSE WAR IS NECESSARY. U MAD!!?

  • @Roninartillery

We had war in many years. It didn't helped. Cause the world is still filled with hate. U mad?

  • what is meditation doing nothing ur being peacefull because your sitting on a spot not doing anything i hate this mystification shit which makes people like russel simmons who are a small part of the dieaseas are taken seriously

  • Fuck You Russell Simmons. You are worth 340 million and have a credit card company that charges all the fees these stupid dirty hippies are protesting. How Fucking ridiculous.

  • it says a lot if Russel Simmons is supporting a movement that might be advocating a redistribution of wealth or some hybrid of the sort. it is funny though that after all these people become extremely rich they then become philanthropist...I think it's because deep down inside they know that they shouldn't have so much while others suffer so much.

  • Consume less, that would help!

  • Russell Simmons you are a fucking joke. You ARE the big corporations. How much of that wealth are you spreading around? This whole movement makes me laugh. A bunch of hipsters crawl out of their parents basements and congregate to smoke weed and stink up wall street. Socialism doesn't work fucktards.

  • can someone explain in great detail what this protest is about?? I just switched into politics for school and my teacher was talking about lobbying and protests last week and sent us this link and told us to watch it. I watched it and I sort of understand the basis of whats going on but not the minor details. I dont want people attacking me, just explain whats going on.. please and thanks!

  • @circasurvive04

I'm not totally sure myself, but it seems to be largely about the bailouts the large corporations received recently (a couple years ago? My long-term memory is poor), along with other issues like taxing the wealthy.

I'd visit sites like occupywallst . org for better info.

  • They think America is going to adopt communism. America instead is laughing at them. Its hard to take a smelly hippie with a Che Guevara t-shirt seriously. Go back to your parents basement.

  • @LexNaturalis1982 "They think America is going to adopt communism. " No. They're a bit more savvy than that, and I'm wondering why you only focused on the "smelly hippie" element? Would you expect hippies to be absent from a broad-spectrum community back-lash like this? I think its great to finally see more and more of the community waking up to what's really happening. Your turn will (hopefully) come soon.

  • I am the 53%.

    Tax payers unite.

  • lol every person they interview sounds and looks like a retarded crack head. I'm not rich, but I'd rather be one of the 1% than be piled in with these failures. You do not represent or speak for me or 99% of the population.

  • Russell Simmons is a huge hypocrite!

Ever heard of "rush card"??? It's predatory lending... Russell Simmons style. Look it up!

These poor sheople just eat it up!!

  • Thank you for posting these videos...they provide a welcome flipside to the harsh videos of violence in police clashes. This movement must remain peaceful!

  • I Love my Tribe (:**:) ❤ ¸¸.•*¨*•♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸❤

  • believe me...many humans in europe, in germany, in big and small citys look very interested in that protest movement. so am i. please continue making films and statements....good vibes from jena.

  • Love will do the "job", pure love ❤

  • Just beautiful!!! We change the World from hell to paradise...keep it up!!! Greetings from small Estonia.

  • Wow, a crapload of college students, eighteen to twenty-somethings, and your typical rich hypocrite "celebrity." Shocker!

  • @jujane12 actually there were union workers, plane pilots and teachers even a few Ex-wall street bankers and suit and ties... not all hippies and students. maybe you should watch more videos ;)

  • @minastarz551 Nooo, you don't say, for realz? Thanks but I'm well aware of that, and have seen enough on it. I never said they were the ONLY ones there, but 1) I was commenting on this particular vid, and 2) they do seem to rep the majority there from all I've seen, and yes including hippies (as you pointed out).

  • @minastarz551 Like i said, if things are difficult you should leave college for a year or two and work until you have saved enough to continue education. I do think however that there is no reason you should have to do that (the govt should make it easier to get student loans and the like). Just because your friends got financial aid does not mean you are eligible for it. They most likely take your parents assets into account. And only take into account unemployment ie. for more than 2 months .

  • @Durka223 well.. ok forget about my friends having financial aid. you're right. every situation is different. the point of me mentioning this in the video was because well my dad lost his job due to this economic crisis we're in... they asked why i was there.. how does all this affect me... so i told my story. but again, like i said.. the reality is i can not pay for my education. maybe a little less than half of one semester's tuition.. i can't pay for it all. it's simply unrealistic these days

  • @Durka223 thanks for the advice though. believe me, i'm considering many options.

  • Correction - @minastarz551 - this iPod alters the spelling and I often don't notice.

  • @ministers..Bill Gates obviously has much more money than he needs and is obscenely wealthy, but he is not a good example of the feral rich. There are people who are not innovators and do not work at all but they still get very very rich.

  • In Germany the protesters used a very good tactic against police brutality.

Every time a Cop got aggressive they all shouted together "We are peaceful, what are you?"

    Here a good example at 0:28 "/watch?v=BPjmN95HZGo"

    It was very effective.

    Please spread this around!

  • WE'VE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dedicate this song for Occupy Wall Street!!!

    /watch?v=nvjy6MQr6fE

  • They got money for wars, but can't feed the poors.

  • America is where the USSR was in the early 80s - massive corruption, their ecenomic model is trash and only a tiny $-elite benefits from status quo.

The embarrassing part: over all that time people in the red zones had no chance to vote better leaders, critique was forbiddn and due to hardcore cencorship NO ONE had any idea about the outside world beeing much better off! USA had ALL these opportunities! WHY were they so blind n lazy?!

Some day even the dumbest begin to see... GOOD LUCK!

  • russell simmons? russell simmons? a man who is worth close to half a billion dollars due to working hand in hand with the exact things you 'occupy' against.. you're using him to send a message? WTF.

  • Here's to a FAIR, DEMOCRATIC, REPRESENTATIVE government that views us all EQUALLY. #occupywallstreet

  • @Durka...I agree, people should have access to quality education, health services and welfare services no matter how much money they have. However I am not sure that people get rich through working hard. If that were the case, I know plenty of people ( including myself) who should be millionaires by now.

  • POWER to the PEOPLE! WE ARE THE 99%

  • @queenofshebalala If 'more equality' means taxing the rich more so that financial pressures on the lower class are eased, then i am all for it. If someone is 'poor' and still able to support themselves and maintain a stable life why would they need more money? And yes people who are rich deserve to be rich provided that they have worked hard to earn it (honestly and ethically), and also provided it does not increase financial instability of lower classes (the poor poorer). Thanks for rephrasing.

  • @queenofshebalala That depends upon your definition of poor. All people should be funded by the government up to the point that they have food, shelter, health, safety and education opportunities. That is if and only if they cannot provide these for themselves. What is your definition of 'more equality'? I was saying that if your definition meant dividing up all the wealth amongst people then that is socialism.

  • @Durka223. .. You seemed to say that people should be able to get very rich while others are poor because it is legal. You said that if you want more equality you are promoting socialism. I said that if international socialism is the only way to achieve more equality then that must be the main reason people want it. Does that make sense to you?

  • @queenofshebalala Please rephrase...I do not understand what you think i meant.

  • @Durka223...Are you trying to say that unless people are allowed to get very rich on the backs of others, socialism is the only way to organise society in a way that is more equal? It is little wonder that people do promote international socialism in that case.

  • @queenofshebalala and btw most rich people are thieves. working hard doesn't make you rich ...not anymore... Do you think bill gates was a genius? Of course, he stole those ideas! look it up on google if this sounds like nonsense to you..... he isn't as smart as people think he is... why doesn't anyone talk about him being a thief? he has all the money in the world...enough said -_-

  • @queenofshebalala sorry i meant to point that last comment to @durka223

  • @Durka223..do you even consider the fact that the wealthy could well afford to pay more towards peoples education, health and welfare? Don't they benefit from it all? Why do you think that people should not be protesting about inequality? Do you think the rich should be entitled to evade and avoid paying tax while workers are told they must pay more for less?

  • @queenofshebalala Dont assume my position on the matters. I do agree that the rich (in your country) are taxed to a far lesser extent than what they should be. But they will still be rich as they should be, otherwise what you are promoting is socialism, which has so many other problems. Inequality? I dont have a moustache but my neighbour does...should i protest? Most rich people are there legally and deserve their money given that their means are legal and ethical.

  • @queenofshebalala Yes the wealthy could definitely lighten the burden on others education health and welfare. For example in my country there are high taxes on the upper class relative to the rest of the world. Yes wealthy people could be taxed more, however your defense budget could be slashed also as a way of economical pressures on the lower/middle class. Im not quite sure what your stance is. Do you think money should be divided equally among all, or just higher taxes for the high class?

  • @minastarz551 I do sympathise with your situation, dont get me wrong, however you are wrong in thinking that you have the right to have education handed out to you on a silver platter. If you cannot afford fees then i suggest dropping out of college for a year or two and working to pay for it.

  • @minastarz551

I do agree with you that you cant put a price on education, however it is infeasible not to so in modern economical and governmental systems. Firstly you know education is an export, of which the US is from memory the largest exporter. It is a major industry and well yes, the government could make it free, but where do you think the money comes from then? They remove it from other economical areas (for example hospitals) to provide funds. Or they raise taxes.

  • @Durka223...Yes

  • @minastarz551

Its no wonder you were rejected, your position does not require financial aid so stop acting as if you are eligible. Its there for a variety of reasons and not one of them is to fund students who are unwilling to work the hours necessary to fund their own tuition. You ‘refuse’? Well otherwise you could have gotten a job (possibly another if hours are short) and work the hard yards. Do you think people get where they are today by being given a free pass?

  • @Durka223 first of all. by education being free i meant it should all be covered in the people's tax money. tax money is being used for a stupid useless war. second.. he doesn't have a job anymore..he's unemployed...he's not making money anymore....nomore money....no job.... my dad has no job....whatever he gets from unemployment is being used to take care of the other 4 people in my family..my sister is is in college too..... so why am i still not eligible again??

  • @Durka223 i know MANY who had their whole education paid for by financial aid. Alot of rich kids have their parents trust funds. I don't have any of those. I had a job.. they let me go recently. When i had that job..it was 8 dollars an hour... the reality is, that will NEVER be enough to pay for my education. sad thing is my college is a public school and it costs SO much to go to... it used to be a free school.

  • I am an European, college drop out, I pay 42% tax, i save over 20K USD yearly for the past 5 years, no debts, pay monthly 170 USD for our mandatory healthinsurance system. All this with an income just above avarage.

I have no creditcard, do not buy clothes often, never go shopping, I live frugal.

    I do ok it seems.

    For how much longer?

I hope you guys also get a system where healthcare is mandatory and affordable, as is education and where you pay 32/42 or 52% tax of your income.

  • 3:00 please, let's not use abuse of words. As a scientist believing in multi-dimensionnal universe and loving meditation, I must denounce: do not create confusion between energy and ambience!

  • Jon Stewart's brother Larry Leibowitz is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the New York Stock Exchange.

  • I think it's that time for us as humans to wake up and see what is going on outside our tunneled lives. The pyramid idea of society and government need to be once and for all terminated. We as humans have the power to evolve into a much for connected society. After all, we all do share this ONE planet. A tiny pebble in the galactic universe. Every person needs to know there is MUCH that is need to be learned in order to maintain our survival as a specie. The only one with a soul and conscious.

  • 25 Hedge-fonds manager didn't like the movie.

  • Some people are very disturbed about the fact that people are protesting. The protesters must be hitting a nerve. Well done!

  • C`mon Sleepers watch?v=A8GiRSuoWBU&feature=related

  • Wow...these folks are the Gen X version of the failed hippie movement of the 60's. And, they are about as grassroots as astroturf...they are well (use that term loosely) organized, useful idiots (an actual term used by your heroes, look it up). You don't even know what you are protesting...your charter says you are protesting "capit-O-lism"????? So, you are protesting state capitols, not the use of money and labor (capit-A-lism) to create profit? You couldn't find your own belly button. Bums

  • Music Of The People It Is Magnificent!

  • Yes,the people are with you.greetings from Mississippi

  • Mediation in order to bring down capitalism? lol nice try you guys

  • @SelectiveTweet

perhaps you are right. it may not be enough to bring down capitalism. but it is way better than lazy cynicism and revolting apathy.

  • Pretty easy to camp at wall street all day if you don't have a job to go to. Stop asking for a f#cking handout of my hard earned tax dollars. Idiots

  • @seanmelcher lol. your fucking hard earned tax dollars are anyway going into the pockets of those who are making you work hard.

  • Europe and Middle East are waiting for you America. Time is NOW.

  • i love how you silly fucktard liberals are sitting with russell simmons like he is one of you .. the guy has 500 million dollars why don't you attack him or ask him to bail you out of your film school loans you can;t afford you fucking clowns.

  • "My dad lost his job so now he can't pay for my college anymore" Then get your own job you lazy slob.

  • @nickmooreimages fuck you! im 20 years old you expect me to work more amount of hours than i go to school?? where would i find time to study? what planet does your dumb ass live on ? i'm not going to sell my soul to work all my free time in a minimum wage shitty ass job. it's not going to pay for school. that's the reality. you're telling me to get a job, i had a job for the past two years while in community college, & now that i FINALLY transferred .. no money, financial aid was REJECTED !

  • @minastarz551 I worked 2 jobs and went to school full time. You my friend are just a lazy asshole.

  • @nickmooreimages I went to school full time for the past two years WHILE working .. the money i made was barely enough to cover transportation and food. i am only 20.. nobody is hiring. you cant call me lazy, you dont know me lol you are judging based off no knowledge of the situation. how the fuck am i lazy if i have been working while going to school FULL TIME? so, because i don't sell my soul and become a slave, i'm considered lazy. "you my friend," are a grade A asshole.

  • just let me know when it's time to cull the sheep.

  • Next thing will be the trade unions will want to go on strike because they are not getting paid enough to live on, or are getting laid off and can't find jobs. What is the world coming to? They should all have become politicians or corporate bankers. They could have gambled as much as they wanted and demanded public money to bail them out when they got in a mess.

  • Cause its Possible!

  • People of Germany and Europe support you. You really getting into the Core. Much Love. To Occupy the System is the only Way!

  • @ScrewedUpClickFan I meant the 'minimum living wage' not the 'minimum wage' as this occupy wall street page has demanded to be instituted. And yes i think you are correct, particularly about the defense spending.

  • None of these people have any idea about how meritocracy, corporations, taxation or markets work. Guaranteed all college dropouts/liberal arts majors/people with no prospects in life.

  • Please tell me everyone sees the irony with someone who has his own Visa card (v), ahem Russel Simmons, and those boxes with the big amazon (AMZN) logo on the side being delivered to the people who are protesting the very companies that make these things. You are all idiots, get a life.

  • so much respect for russel simmons!!

  • If I'm wrong about anything i urge you to inform me. Education is key!

  • @Durka223 The minimum wage is decided by each state. Some states have a minimum wage as low as $4, and others have one as high as $9/hr. Those wages have are not what's the global economy -- it's an unregulated financial system, trillions in defense spending, a for-profit healthcare system that's ridiculously expensive thanks to the insurance and pharmaceutical companies.

  • Furthermore just because someone is not part of the corporate population DOES NOT mean they agree with the statements or agenda of this protest. This 99% claim, in my opinion, would only serve to mock your cause. I see alot of symbolism: balloons in the air, signs such as 'freedom of the people', 'power to the people', 'freedom and democracy for all'. Where is the substance. Its fine to make enthusiastic statements such as this however they serve no benefit without an educated reform argument.

  • Spelling mistakes: *woman *extended. Merely by being on the street, having a police force to protect both you and other citizens, and by you having a right to protest (organised of course) are all factors which point towards a healthy nation. Don't take it for granted when others can barely speak out against their governments without fear of violence. Seeing some proper discussion would be excellent! Thanks.

  • This would increase unemployment. Some businesses would lose significant productivity and would go bankrupt, causing more unemployment. Corporations would experience a decrease in competition from smaller businesses and would have the ability to flood the market. This is a monopoly. Imagine Walmart charging $10 (exaggerated) for a product worth 50c simply because you cannot buy it from anywhere else. This cause lacks an educated grounding, but flourishes in support and youthful enthusiasm.

  • (Increased unemployment). Some businesses would lose significant productivity in the wake of employee cuts, causing some to go 'out of business'. (Increased unemployment). The decrease in small business competition would mean that larger businesses/corporations would dominate the market as a monopoly. Imagine Walmart charging $30 for a kg (~ 2 pounds) of bananas simply because you as a consumer have no cheaper alternative, as small grocers have gone out of business. (Improbable but possible).

  • And you think you are in debt at the moment? This outrageous spending would cause extend inflation. I comment warily upon the proposal to increase minimum wage to the living wage for all workers regardless of work. Could someone please tell me what this wage is? Depending upon the amount, sure, workers are paid and can afford more. However business owners (particularly small) would not afford current employee levels and would require a cut in employee levels to merely stay profitable.

  • One women could no longer attend college as she would now have to pay. I'm no American but is there no student loan system? This is a brave and positive cause however you should realise your brazen and unsubstantiated demands cause you to be perceived as a group of spoilt and economically uneducated youth. For instance: open border migration. This alone would cause incredible strain on health care, housing etc. Trillions in spending??!!..I don't even know where to begin.

  • @Durka223 i did apply for financial aid and student loan. i got totally rejected for financial aid cause they look at how much my dad made last year. they don't even focus on the present situations. i live in a family of 5.. 2 in college.. i just transferred FROM a community college. i qualified for less than half the amount of my tuition cost for student loans. and i refuse to be stuck in debt not being able to get a job ! education should be FREE !!

  • This is stupid. They should feel stupid.

  • If this can be sustained for long enough, it will grow. It's key that these people keep coming back to keep the occupation going.

    Love and support from Arkansas.

  • Rise Americans .. Rise 1!! .... salutes from Egypt

  • @Smoozable The Egyptian revolution has had a huge influence. I think it gave many people here optimism that they could create social change. Y'all had it much harder, and your success showed Americans that they didn't have to be apathetic. There's power in numbers.

  • The first corporation in America was created to give the newly freed slaves what they needed to survive, look it up yourself, the tea party people are to stupid to know that they are licking the rear end of a bunch of thugs, to keep the people in the hands of those who would dare think that they deserve more just because they know so d-mn well how to cheat others, stop them NOW... I know as my ancestors did , LOVE WILL PREVAIL Africa will become rich again and everyone else as well

  • @gkopacz very presumptuous to say how you believe they all voted, where did anybody say anything about gun control? Man, you are obviously speaking out of fear and ignorance. Nobody here likes gun control, and even if they do, that had nothing to do with why they are here... Stop posting assumptions. I voted third party, if you were curious, I am not a student, I have a job, and I did not loose my house either. I am part of this movement however. And I own guns

  • 99%? I don't think their math adds up.

  • wonderful the moment of the meditation!

    we're all with you!

  • All of these people are the same people who advocate gun control. So lets see how they feel about gun control when martial law is declared on them and the idea of the constitution is thrown out. Ya wanna fight for God given rights? Or are you just going to keep meditating while the military is coming at you with an M4 pointed at your head. These people make no sense. They contradict themselves.

  • OK what I don't understand if these occupy wall street people are the same people who voted for Obama and the democratic senate. Now, you people want them out? AND if capitalism isn't working and it's "organized crime", then what do you sugguest? Socialism? Communism? Because we've seen how well those worked in the past.

  • Corporations are just the west's version of communism. Look how successful cooperatives in Europe ie Spain work. Social media may be the downfall of greedy company executives.Kim Carrera

  • Bill Hicks said it perfectly, if we spent the military budget on feeding and clothing the worlds population, we could feed and cloth the entire world with resources to spare.

  • @SurfFender Yea, and make them all dependants not paying taxes, but hey, we'll soak the rich. That policy works in practice, doesn't it?

  • @ScottACNohea 'Cause if it did, you'd have no need to protest Wall Street.

  • Over a thousand people at occupy Wall Street and not one of them is missing work .

  • @SurfFender The Catholic Church alone has enough revenue available to feed, clothe, house everyone NOW, and yet they choose not to.

  • @SurfFender Untill another country comes in and takes those resources because they didn't use it to feed their people. Idealism dosn't stop bullets.

  • The only people that care about the protest are the ones protesting. Everyone thinks their cause is the only one that matters. Whales, environment, taxes, whatever. Get a life.

  • @Bynarri Russell Simmon cares :(

  • i really don't give a fuck about lobbyist and evil corporations or whatever but i'd actually go out of my way to 'encourage' these fucking hipsters to stfu and go home if they actually manage to make some progress

  • The person who wrote that he only sees "hippies" and" commies" is one of the willfully blind. Does he know the man in the black sweater-- a self made success--no commie. Selective listening is a matter of fear, a "don't confuse me with the facts," attitude. Sad

  • System is like a train, world's fastest sprinters and an old granny would arrive at exactly the same time in Chicago, because of the system, the Train.

If you know the train moving downward to amazon river, dont walk by and step to chicago by yourself, CHANGE the train, change the SYSTEM, that brings you all forward to chicago, to the sovereignty of people, and i believe that was we people do now.

  • Work you guys are doing is really great! But, to be succeed, you need a leader or at least a group of leaders, who will decide what to do and how to send your messages worldwide.

  • @SlipAllCityToy you sound like a throwback to the cold war. A I haven't heard anyone screaming for the end of capitalism, just cronyism. B, you don't know anything about these people. "Hippie" is a term that has no meaning and I seriously doubt these protesters are "communists." Back in the 60's "commie" was a slur that right wingers used to stick on anyone who protested anything. And most people would love to work a a job that pays a living wage.

  • "meditate for social change"

    LOL

  • I'm hearing a lot of vague talking. they almost sound like incoherent hippies... '' yeaaah mannnn we can be free mannnn lets resist these coorporations mannn we're gonna fight the power mannn ''

What is their actual practical solution to all of this.

  • Thanks to Russell Simmons for joining with those who are protesting! We need more of the celebrities to join in to help bring major attention to this cause! Keep up the good work Occupy WallStreet protesters! I wish I could be out there with you but I'm with you in spirit and thank you for your actions!

  • @gsgrl2000 If Russell Simmons is involved then you can rest assured that this has turned into some straight bullshit. Did he pass out Rush Cards while he was down there?

  • @bigmo10 Michael Moore also has joined the protesters; and I do believe Rosanne Barr as well joined the protertrs.... I get what you are saying but it brings attention to the cause... we need to stick together and not in-fight.... it's us the 99% vs. them the 1%; Russell and others like him are a part of th 99%; they may have a lot of $ but they don't run the banks!

  • 2 weeks? And what about the massive collection of scientific data to support the health, psycho-social, and environmental effects? Why would you even post such a load of crap, you say you went to a foreign land, for spiritual study, and you only practiced a few hours a day for two weeks... LOL LIAR!

  • @TimurTimurid UMM THIS ECONOMY IS STOPPING ME FROM GETTING A JOB. seriously now?? for the 20th time, the editor of the video cut out the part when i said i don't qualify for financial aid and student loans. what planet do u live on where 20 year olds can pay for their own education? i'm going to dedicate more hours to work than school to pay for school? where would i find time to study? .. come on

  • 1:39 - Thats no excuse to drop out of college.

  • @IHS7 So pay her tuition...

  • @IHS7 really? because, i don't receive financial aid nor student loans... i dont know why they would cut that part out of the video. that was like the most important part of what i said. school is not free unfortunately. so how can i go??
