@009Chick Whites have been in S. Africa for like 3 generations?? What a laugh! Whites arrived in South Africa in 1652, for your information. They moved into the interior from the south and started encountering blacks which were moving down from the north. Large parts of South Africa was uninhabited at the time. The only reason why blacks rule the country, as they should in a democratic society, is because they outnumber whites, not because they were there first.

First of all, Europe is a continent, not a country. This means that there are different countries throughout Europe. Every country has its own language so there is no such thing as "European" as a language... -.-'

And second, Afrikaans is not a white language. When Holland had South-Africa as a colony the slaves started to learn Dutch, but the symplified it. It is an official language now, not a dialect.

(afrikaan) language being taught in universities when it's only Dutch in a different dialect or some European language but in a different dialect. It's like the way Boston has their own accent it's still English. Mexicans and Puerto Ricans speak the same language but with different accents or dialect with of course some different words but it's still Spanish just like this supposedly new afrikaan language but it's still just European with different accent.
