well 1 think it happen one of there engines broke down and the gases accumulated for good 30 + minutes and then the boom if the engine didint broke this wouldn't have happen
I have to agree with Dal90, anyone who has put diesel and gas mixed together in the open makes a very good explosion( burn pile experience ). a little bit of gas goes a long way in diesel
I saw this video on tv, they said they used an accelerant but didnt tell anyone... maybe they did know because he tossed it in the house like he expected something BIG, proabaly not that big though.
yeah showtime, wow this sickens me, Natural Gas Lines still left on, and ignition man left service 90% loss of hearing all could have been PREVENTED!!!
apparently gas had been thrown throughout the whole house and all of the fumes had settled to the point where whenever the FF threw in the flare BOOM. I'll see if I can find more details about the video
@twotwo30Productions no gas was not thrown throughout the house, There was a natural gas leak in the basement and gas had accumulated over time before it had been shut off, The fumes were still there when the burn took place and well flame + Nat gas = B000M
After the host department had spread diesel as the accelerant, a member of a guest department unknown to them went in an added 5 gallons of stale gasoline.
The gasoline, being flammable, caused the big boom. Diesel & Kerosene, being combustible with higher flash points, tend to be no where near as dangerous.
Nexttime hope they use something a little less volitile like a gel.

Tell me that nobody noticed the smell of natural gas. Because that was definitely an NG explosion.

This one is similar to the boat one.. There were people dumping gasoline all over.. and then the flare set it off.
Not a good idea.

The "official" story:
After the host department had spread diesel as the accelerant, a member of a guest department unknown to them went in an added 5 gallons of stale gasoline.
The gasoline, being flammable, caused the big boom. Diesel & Kerosene, being combustible with higher flash points, tend to be no where near as dangerous.
