  • This is the only song I like to listen too in grand theft auto :P

  • Nile Rodgers is about to make an album along with Daft Punk!

Check out details on Mixmag site.

    mixmag. net / words/news/daft-punk-and-nile-rodgers-hook-up

  • It is absolutely ridiculous how good Bernard is playing the bass! I've listened to and dance to this song sooo many times and it always blows me away! And it's not just the pure playing - it's the song that is so great too! Superb!

  • Bernard the best bass player of the world. Bernard and Tony R.I.P ...

  • That Bass player is seriously good! I keep replaying that bit over and over

  • Very strange voice mix... Obvious a ghost in the overdub...

  • go head sistah girl you have soul and you are special.

  • I LOVE THIS

  • No, there is a trend afoot, Niles uses a front women, then when they become too succesfull to the cause (and thus potentialy threatening) he drops them, Norma Jean , Luci Martin, then Sister Sledge. He wants to be the main player but is trying to do it by proxy .

  • Pherhaps Norma Jean was let go because she percieved as more dominant than Niles?

  • @GodfreyTempleton

Norma Jean was promised a "solo" career, produced by the Chic Organization, she helped get Chic off the ground.

  • GTA TBoGT!!!! Yeay, i like it!

  • I'm only 14 & this is my kinda of music. (:

  • I'm all about the Nard love but how bout a little for Nile for writing the song.

  • @NorthernMars

    true dat !!!

  • @NorthernMars They are all phenoms, Nile is a genius writer, producer, and guitar player. Tony is one of the most sought after studio drummers ever, but even Nile will tell you that he was in awe of Bernard every night on stage, those are his words not mine . To Quote Nile "I used to look over and Bernard would be doing something, you know like that riff in Everybody Dance, if there are any bass players in the room here you know that thing's impossible to play right?"

  • live HOUSE MUSIC!!!!!!!!!

  • She is what a real beautiful black woman is...

  • AT THE BEGGING

  • i can only hear the boys

  • i love this song and yes, THE BASS PLAYER RULES!!!! thanks soso much for posting!!!!!

  • Bernard Edwards...American Icon.

    Period.

  • Any bassist out there will tell you how hard this track is to play. Thank you Bernie Edwards for creating something that good.

  • great song. by late '79-1980 radio programmers were refusing to play most of the good disco songs and played junk like "funkytown" instead. this sounded great then and still sounds good. heard this on the radio today.

  • bernard plays the bass so cool and groovy !! He was the coolest dude on bass !

  • just listening to this song on and on cause

    of the bapshuap at 1:26

  • in addition to everybody dancing, everybody needs to read Nile Rodgers book "Le Freak" you will gain such an appreciation for this cut as well as the people that made it........this is still such a banger!

    dOLO (Chicago)

  • slappin' da bass!!!

  • RIP Bernard..... Chic the greatest disco band ever.....

  • Rogers and Edwards always looked amazing, those suits were epic and cool in every way

  • @U5096 Right. You can't call your band Chic and not dress up.

  • music is like candy, we throw away the wrappers

  • This is, actually, my favorite Chic track.

  • what fool would dislike a classic like this ... obviously doesnt know timeless music

  • Disco total!!!!

  • 0:00 - 0:08 he plays the bass like a e-guitar with hsi fingaz. Edwards the mayn man in bass !! He, louis johnson,Nathaniel Phillips and more ..

  • I miss the disco 70s!!! We were all so young and SO DAMN THIN!!! Ha! We went to discos and parties to have fun and dance! And we all dressed up in our best! Now kids go to parties looking like sluts and slobs and get drunk and shoot each other! Glad I'm old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mrob75

    well said

  • Respond to this video...

    well said

  • @mrob75 I'm 16, and i'm having a 70's disco soon! (And playing a load of chic covers! I'm a bass player, eek!)

I'll be suiting up as will all the guests! I wish i'd seen those days!

  • @AttitudeCastle Aha! There is hope after all!!! Good for you...If you're 16 and like Chic and disco music, you just made my day! Didn't mean to sound so pessimistic about today's youth. There are those out there like you with quite an ear for good music. Yes, you would have liked the 70s...Chic was a disco group that REALLY dressed up when they'd perform! The girls would even wear flowers in their hair! Hope you and your friends have fun!

  • @mrob75 Haha don't worry about it, i have my doubts about the youth of today also!

  • @mrob75 i dont listen to disco but i know what ya mean about today's youth. if you talked back to your parents back then you would just get slapped without hesitation, and im 15 and i never talk back.

  • beautiful music

  • at 3:11 she fixes her dress coz it's falling off her booty lol

  • reminds of Daddy Morebucks i

  • How do you even make a song that is as great as this one? I love it soooo much! Thanks!

  • bei tempi good time! yeaaaa

  • Excelent!!! ♥

  • Bernard was an awesome bassist. Very musical

  • Bernard Edwards was a genius. He even played the bass solo on The Power Station's hit cover of T. Rex's "Bang A Gong (Get It On)"...even though everyone thought it was played by John Taylor. John won Best Bassist in Rolling Stone's 1986 Reader's Poll and in reality it was because of Bernard's solo!

  • It's simply amazing to see and hear such talent and beauty mixed up in this fantastic song. Helps if you're in love though...Thanks!

  • brill

  • pure class

  • AWESOME SONG ... LOVE THE DISCO ERA ... THEY BLEW IT UP WITH RYTHEMS AND MELODIES......

  • This is one of my All Time Favorite Songs!

  • Calling Bernard Edwards a good bassist is like saying Tiger is an ok golfer or Jeff Gordon is not a bad driver. Bernard was probably the best modern era popular music 4 stringer there ever was, the man's playing is legendary. He's not the only one, yes there's Jaco and Stanley Clarke, etc.etc. but the music is more obscure, for popular genre music Bernard was god, although I know he would be very uncomfortable with being spoken of that way.

  • @mybasshas7strings Ah, you missed Jack Bruce.

  • questa musica fà scorrere più velocemente il sangue nelle vene

  • Pure undiluted class !!!

  • I'm 31, and this is before my time. But, I have to admit.... This is the best bassist ever. Too bad this man had to pass on. I would sell everything and quit my job to learn how to play the bass like this man.

  • @fucttt09 He was a good bassist. I love his style.

  • Even Chic can playback out of sinc.!!!! amazing. we still love the TOPPOP recordings in Holland for the playback synchronisity. This show was all we had to see the artist perform a new song. and when they couldn't make it to the studio there was a dancegroup that performed live on stage (called Penny de Jager). the presenter Ad Visser is still a Dutch legend.

  • Brilliant tune, brilliant band, brilliant vocals. Nearly all the tracks these guys made are just packed full of funk and good karma....invaluable contributors to the genesis of dance music.

  • MUITO BOM........

  • this bass player rules

  • gta iv lol

  • this is REAL MUSIC!!!

  • excellent! thanks for posting!brings back a lot of memories.
