  • Stop complaining about gloves it's not like there clean too.

  • Those of you complaining about gloves, think how many factory workers touched the plastic when manufacturing the gloves and I am sure the gloves are not sterilized, not to mention the dirty box that the gloves sit in!

  • You could improve your service by wearing plastic gloves

  • Matter of fact, I got some in the fridge right now. :D

  • Wow Subway was sooooooo much better back then

  • Back when they actually put meat in their subs

  • This tune Jams!

  • A 2 year old, 115lb. Jared Fogle remembers watching this commercial in 1979 from his Indianapolis home in between clandestine trips to the cookie jar.

  • @chaduga20 OMG im dying at your comment LMFAO

  • The first subway opened in Bridgeport,Ct

  • The first subway opened in Bridgeport , Ct

  • we're crackin up! my girlfriend burst out laughing @ :23 when it says 'tasty balls " on the wall behind him!!! mmm mmm good!

  • What happened to the top of the sandwich, it looks like crap and if somebody sat on it. I wonder if it tastes the same like now.

  • That loooks like shit

  • @Eddyisgreat it's a done deal. :)

  • @frrrrunkisDAMM RIGHT BITCH !!!

  • That damn U-cut! I do not miss that. Subway apparently switched to hinge cuts to compete with Blimpie and obviously began toasting to compete with Quizno's. Both strategies obviously worked. I do miss Blimpie in L.A. however.

Love that jingle. Wasn't this commercial up at better quality elsewhere on YouTube?

  • Oh, never mind!

  • subway suck balls its all about togos

  • ugh, even back then subway looked like crap.

  • Hah, I worked at Subway when they still cut the top off the bread. The transition to the sideways cut was not met well as I recall.

  • holy shit subway existed in the 70s?

  • Used to like subway but it really taste like shit anymore, it's all the GMO foods. Tastes like crap! Quiznos is much better tasting

  • Open late back than meant 8PM

  • Those look better than the "healthy" Jared crap they pump out now.

  • @JugheadObama Subway, Eat Cardboard!

  • aaah. When subway was still made good sandwiches.

  • 0:11

Note the scene of the guy putting lettuce and tomatoes on the sandwich with his bare hands. Isnt allowed today in a subway. Now they use plastic gloves.

  • @ghostrepublic Who cares? How do you know anyone at McD's Burger King, whatever wears gloves. Eat at your own risk, I say.

  • Subway with porno music, LOVE IT!!

  • @bacardilvr I don't know what kind of porn you've been watching...

  • @ccrosbie33 LMAO!! Apparently not the kind I should be

  • Made right before your eyes... without gloves!

  • Make me a sandwich BITCH! - timdelaghetto

  • yay!

  • damn wear some gloves when you're making my sandwich.

  • @swruiz Fuck that, I don't want glove residue all over my sandwich. Niggas need to learn how to wash their muthafuckin hands.

  • @swruiz no worries, that sandwich was being made for chuck norris

  • @swruiz its scientifically proven that assembling food w/o latex gloves is more sanitary, as long as they wash before and asfter

  • @DUDEABIDES001 See, that's the thing. You could never trust or know if the employee washed their hands. But with cellophane gloves, it takes out the guesswork.

  • @swruiz

Yea.........That's the first thing I thought of when I saw that too.

  • @swruiz Their hands are clean jack ass.

  • @swruiz Food sanitation wasn't invented until 1983.

  • @swruiz I never cook anything with gloves on, I just wash my hands. Gloves aren't any more sanitary.

  • @swruiz QQ someone's clean washed hands touched my food! WahhH!!!!! Idiot. Germaphobes lik you are complete imbeciles, I bet you don't even wash your hands before you eat and yet you bitch about the person touching your food with their clean washed hands.

  • Hard to believe they ever once had commercials like this, and were probably just only in Connecticut. (rather than the super mega sub sandwich chain, they are today)

  • Jared was a gleam!!!!!

  • i remember when they used to slice the bread like that... THANK GOD THEY CHANGED

  • Wow subway is older then I thought

  • I was not aware Subway's dated back this far!! :^O

  • i didn't know that subway was a restaurant in the 1970s

  • Lol....great way to diiscribe that sandwich

  • no gloves!!! I'd get in trouble for that.

  • Holy shit, I didn't know Subway existed back then and they've come a LOOOONG way. Why is that sick fuck not wearing plastic gloves?

  • @Popteart Because back in the '70s/'80s, it didn't matter. But up until around 1994, there became issues concerning cross-contamination between the handling of the food and the cash register; so the germaphobe liberals bitched and complained to the USFDA and State Health Department and convinced them to make it mandatory for all Subways employees to wear gloves and change into a new pair after finishing the sandwich and handling the money. But, yeah, we've definitely come a long way.

  • i never knew subway first debuted (here) in ct.. thats interesting

  • Wow they really upgraded. Back in the 70's, they're sandwiches looked like you threw lettuce, tomato, cheese and bread into a category 5 tornado

  • @Tyme4Cryme hahaha

  • eat fresh?

  • omfg no gloves

  • Dang, no gloves?
