hey, guys! Can someone help me to find the song that Glen Hansard played at the very beginning of the movie when he was performing in the street and stopped becxause of that guy who wanted to steal money from him. i really liked that song but i cant find it anywhere. i'll be very grateful if someone helps me with that. thank you!
@niji16 thank you! i found this song. but i like it more when Glen Hansard sings rather than Van Morrison. Glen does it with great passion. i can't find it though
I cant believe there comment fights on this video. Just listen and forget. Please and thanks you. Esta es una de las canciones mas hermosas que alla escuchado. C'est tres tres tres tres tres chose!? I don't know what tho.
This would be much better with a single guitar, no harmony, and DEFINITELY no violin. A great song but like the others, a little bit overproduced for the spirit of this film in my opinion.
This song is perfect! It's from the scene in the Irish pub and the violins and the harmonies capture the place perfectly. Guess you've never been in an Irish pub. And definitely not overproduced - the production is minimal, it's just the harmonies and a few simple instruments
@TreePhoto I've never been to Ireland, but the production here is a bit too top-heavy for my taste. Single guitar, single vocalist would have been perfect.
@levanyzzuf don't be mistaken with the tuning. its EBEEBE, which is very unique. it sounds like more than 1 guitar because of so many of the same notes on the same strings.
i think they did have a happy ending, theyre just not together. i mean, Guy brought Girl a piano..Girl have made up with her husband and Guy goes to US to find his love. its frustrating that they didnt end up together though they just met for a week anyway. and also i think, thats why they titled it Once coz theyre still strangers in a way and its like nothing happened between them but something special did and they dont have to say it... did i make sense?
@baby15gem I have to agree with that, but the last scene was the girl looked out of the window with a sadness words couldn't describe. I think the movies end wasn't their destiny.
@baby15gem Absolutely agree. I just came back from the play at the NYTW in the village. It was incredible. The thing that kept her from giving in to her love for him was that the songs he wrote from his soul were for another woman. She knew the capacity of his love for the other girl by the emotion he put into those songs. She knew that he needed her and put that love before her own. Incredible tale of love and honor. It was in her giving that she was an angel as he called her.
i luv da film and da songs.u know,i've watched da trailer(da movie watched on STAR),snippet of falling slowly was on it,n i know i've 2 watch da movie.Hansard av tis honesty bout him when he sang, jus touches me.Brilliant..
BULLSHIT. Some good music, but too much depressed, failed shit in both the movie & these vomit songs: The Hill, Falling Slowly, blah, blah, blah...stupid BS--she needs to find the happy ending with the vacuum cleaner sucker & not the missing Czech fucker..so annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dunno.. I felt like this had a happy ending. Just not the glitsy glamour all live happily every after kinda ending most films have, it was nice and simple :)
it all depends on how you interpret(?) the songs. I personally think that piano solo song the girl does near the end of the recording session is about "guy"(main character), not her husband. So maybe not a happy ending but certainly a fulfilling one. I see both of em in an unhappy unfulfilling relationship at the end of the movie. Thats just me i guess
He ("guy") write songs about her former girlfriend. She ("girl") wrote a song about her husband (I think it's about him). They meet each other, and finally fight for what they think it's the best thing to do, not something passing... That's the great point of the film!!
Completely agree. This movie is so sad, because the girl and the guy were really ment for themselves - but didn't end together; and on the other hand - sad and beautiful, as they had their 'once' they spent together, and that was - I think - the best time of their lives.
So many mixed emotions comes from me when I listen to the music and watch the movie, cause I see a refference to my life.
It's mainly Emaj7 to Emaj with alot of Emaj scale improv with an open E going the whole time to create a drone effect and with double ocatves on the notes.
sounds a lot like its tuned so that open it is EMaj though, then its just a lot of sliding around and such on the third and 4th strings that fits in with the Emaj scale
SORRY SORRY ive commented this before, its LONDON not US... sorry my bad.
