  • @G0ATRIDER -I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I bet lots of people think your GTO is the ugliest car ever, or at least nothing more than a Grand Prix with a V-8. At least the TA was something original, not just a Manero brought over from Australia with new badges and a V-8! I owned an 06 GTO, so save any lecture for the car you may have.

  • As a pontiac guy glad the pontiac won lol as a firefird fan and owner sad to see it out gunned, great work on both cars! Love it! You are welcomed to tweak my 95 formula or 89 gta both have headers and minor mods, but these cars in the video are in the big leagues.

  • @2001tranzam i dont know what was done to the TA, but at my local drag strip. they require a rollcage when your quarter mile times drop below 12 seconds when u have t tops or any type of sun roof! and for cars that have a solid roof i believe it 10 second and below.

  • @lordcrusade And don't get me wrong i do love Pontiac too but Not so much their newer cars as of the Older cars they died off after 1978 with their Trans Am being the last best Pontiac ever made

  • @lordcrusade Had Pontiac still been around with the 2010 muscle car boom and revived the Trans Am and a redesigned GTO, G8, along with the everyday driver roster, Pontiac would have generated 3X or more the revenue Buick has made. I stand by my comment: Bad move by GM.

  • @cowboy52944 Hahaha, it's always the guys in their early 20's with no videos on here that are the proffesional drivers! Maybe if you would go watch some of the other videos before posting you would have a clue. If you have ever owned a high hp boosted car you know that you don't have to shift at redline, peak torque is made between 4-5000 rpm and hp usually flattens out around 6k rpm. On a side note, the driver has a 1000hp corvette and owns his own performance shop. What r u driving?

    exactly. most dont even know what brake boosting is...lol...when i still had this car i took it to a few big citys and ran some fast cars. there is a vid of it running a stroked/forged//nitrous/ bussa floating around somewhere.

    also running some stock bussas and killing them. the car was wicked fast on teh big end once spooled. it was more of a roll racer like the supras. see atleast someone knows a little about cars around here!!!

    I as in ME i built both of these cars

    the GTO WAS turboed. it had a APS TT kit

    the GTO made over 1000HP and the TA made 440+ so do that math guys.

    the guy in teh TA is a good friend and he will tell you the same thing.

    The GTO was a sleeper, very quiet. you could barely even hear the turbos. Anyways i really dont have time to argue with people that have no clue.

  • @firefly9r68 Just a question. You state that the GTO has 1k of hp, and it's turboed. What size kit is this turbo because he has some serious lag if he's getting pulled on that badly. Also if the T/A has only 440 hp, he should NOT have been able to pull on a 1k hp car that hard. SERIOUSLY BAD LAG FOR THE GOAT. Also I would like to see some slips & video evidence of all the claims you have here. . I'm here for FACTS not "CLAIMS", also I would like to see a follow up vid of this car on the dyno.

  • @timmmah80 that goat doesnt have 1000 hp 700 to 800 on race gas is possible @ 15 lbs of boost. unless its stroked .then you can get more, but the ls7s on race gas are getting 1000 to 1200 @ 15lbs so the math doesnt add up giving away that many cubes. and the 04 goat is only an ls1. you would need a stroked 05 6 liter to make 1000 hp. and you would have no traction when the turbos hit.

  • @Bearfootbob -The GTO did have 1000hp. I was there when he dynoed it! Pretty sure if you look at some of firefly's other videos you will see this is not an LS1 engine! It was a fully built LQ9 6.0 The car was only running 15psi of boost in this vid, so it wasnt putting out 1000hp. The 1000hp dyno was @ 21psi. I dont know why we argue over this video anymore, firefly doesnt even have that car anymore. Maybe you should go check out his 1000hp LSX vette.

  • @wrknunderpresure AAAAA i see yes the lq9 could make those numbers set up right. i was not taking an argumantative approach. i just have seen and worked with the ls motors. and i own a pretty stout ls3 stroked. and have a pretty good idea of what there capable of. as a matter of fact my buddie runs a non turbo lq9 stroked to 415 ci 489 rwhp on a mild cam and cathedral heads. sorry if i offended,

  • @mathewdylang you're very ignorant... the LS series motors are completely different than the SB 350's of the old days. the LS1, for starters, is 346 cubic inches; NOT 350. you cannot call an LS1 a 350 when it is not one. it is an LS1. not to mention they're comprised of an all-new design, rather than a crossover from a previous generation. look it up sometime, learn something new, instead of bolstering intelligence that you do not have on this subject.

  • @du4lstrik3 ok im pretty sure i didnt mention an ls1 anywhere in the post. i said get a 91 5.7 which i do have research on means im a mechanic and my cousin owns an ls1 formula and my aunt drag races a 91 camaro. but thanks. he commented saying he could get the 305 in a 91. i stated they made a 5.7 which in 91 was still considered a 350 by general motors. but like i said thanks for clarifying that people should think and read before they speak.

  • @0alexdude Its more to do with the lack of traction and wheel hop the GTO is stuck with. If both of these had been corrected from the factory these numbers would be far different. But yes in reality the GTO is far slower than it could have been with small changes. Ohh and if you have trouble keeping your GTO in the low 13s you have some driver issues. : P

  • stock T/A LS1=13.2-13.4 and stock LS1 GTO=13.8-14.0....stock LS2 GTO=13.6-13.8....The turbo(TWIN) in the GTO would have pulled 5 cars in a single gear on a 30mph+ roll. Turbo cars LAG off a dead stop, then start pulling boost around 2nd gear, and its very loud and noticable unlike the video. That video looked like a T/A with exhaust,tune,intake,gears maybe vs a GTO with boltons and a cam.

  • I did the same in my modded mustang GT let a v6 shittalker get a head start (1-2sec) and almost didnt pass him till 80 from a 20 roll. If a c6 Z06 gave me a 2 sec head start in a 1/4 race id beat it easily and it makes 150 more hp and weighs less. Every second counts in small races, or should I say tenths of a second!
