It's hard to cover an Elvis song and not dwindle in his shadow. Ann Wilson walked on that stage and effortlessly made this song hers...and had me asking "Elvis who ?" This lady has got some pipes, and she knows how to use 'em. So powerful and so achingly soulful. There will never be another female like her in rock music, and that's a simple fact.

In the 80's I didn't hear too much of Heart until they came out with the 1985 Album, entitled HEART. They came to Providence, RI on May 9th. at the Civic Center, and I was there, and Annie brought the house down. I thought Nancy would be given the most applause and cheers but it was Annie that was cheered longer and people throwing flowers, and Roses on stage. They had to add another night because of selling out. I saw them twice in 1987 for the Bad Animals tour. Great Shows!

I was born in 1967, and I can remember that I loved The Magic Man, and it being constantly played on the radio. One beautiful memory I have was when my father owned an auto repair business, and he was working on an old Barracuda, and what song came on the radio by Heart, you guessed it, Barracuda. I was only 10 years old, but remember the coincidence being the coolest, and a story to share with friends and other fans. Even in the beginning I always loved Annie Wilson, but did like Nancy.

Bar none, Ann Wilson is the greatest female rock singer ever. She's the only female singer I know who could sing a ballad like honey dripping off a rose, and then turn around and belt out a rock song like a raging hurricane. A very unique and gifted artist, and truly a one of a kind !!

Oh gosh, I just love hearing her sing! She has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard and I've been a Heart fan since I was young. I like what Kenny Loggins said in 2003, "Her voice is one of the most powerfful instruments in music." She still sings a powerfully today in her 50s and her sister on guitar is equally awesome!
