I know this song has a religious meaning... but I don't take it that way. To me.. it's just about a broken old man who feels he's not worth anything.

not about "religion" all of his songs in a sense are about "religion". his songs carry a meaning of hope, love, and peace which are all related to God. so if your not into "religious" music then you proply dont want to listen to TRS bc he himself is very religious and loves God

religion is a much better message in songs than sex, drugs, and rock and roll. bryce provies people with hope, love, and faith. would you rather hear that in a song, or about how many "bitches" some guy has "fucked"?

And I read one of his interviews, and he said that 'Good News' was actually about homeless man in a wheelchair he met in Detroit, who he let in the show, but had to leave because he ended up getting drunk...

It is sad, but I don't know if the homeless man was necessarily using him, I think he was just selling himself short. I think that the song was just based on the idea that the man shouldn't think he was worthless, and that Jesus Christ could help lead him out of the rut he was in - not that I necessarily agree with that, only because I'm not Christian, but it's still a good song :D
