  • How you get to sabotage the death star? I mean, i play many times and never see the computer building a death star, or when i build it as empire they never sabotage it.

Only way is by multiplayer, right?

  • @interlinkknight Pretty much yeah. The computer never even attempts to build one and the only time I did it with my friends was on multiplayer though. Was hilarious though, my friend proclaimed that my Rebel Alliance would be crushed now he had the Death Star, only for me to pull off a successful sabotage mission 10 days later as he forgot to put any troops on it.

  • WE KNOW ALL THIS!!!

    but will it blend?

  • so he he eluded Imperial capture, hijacked and prepped a shuttle, and got to a safe distance in all but 26 seconds. That's one dedicated rebel scum.

  • i would be fuckin pissed if this happened to me. i have lost a deathstar in a trench run because the rebels had too many fighters

  • In all the years I played that game I've never seen that cutscene. Neat.

  • What the fuck kind of explosives are the Rebellion using?! Anti-matter?

  • @metrocop1000 I bet credits to navy beans that may be an antimatter bomb.

  • 66666 viewers

  • why the fuck did they chase him down and not bother with the bomb... lol stormys are stupid :P

  • buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • that suckker would have to be neuclear, so if you set off a decent sized bomb in the reactor controlls, sure why not ?

  • Here are 2 things to consider.......

    1. The storm troopers that were following him were on his side.

    2. There were only two storm troopers in that death star

  • @501stClanTacoSith96 Too true, A few other things to consider:

    1. Why is the bomb using standard Arabic for its timer. The films, not to mention the Expanded Universe, have clearly established unique alphabet and numeral systems. The "Aurebesh" numbers look more like braille.

    2. If he's trying to escape, why leave his helmet. Those uniforms do not make for good armor.

    3. Noboby tried to stop the shuttle from leaving?

  • so they had only 2 stormtroopers guard the spot where a tiny bomb could destroy the entire station?

  • As a representative of the Empire I have to say that I voted on amassing a large cache of those bombs instead of building a Deathstar. the emperor wanted something with more "pizazz".

  • When was this on rebellion. They never showed videos when u do stuff.

  • @sportplaya6 ya they do.

  • @sportplaya6 The videos work on my copy...

  • So the reactor was conveniently placed next to a hanger? Woo yeah imperial architecture for the win!

  • I didn't think the AI would build a death star. Was that your death star?

  • Goddamn. I mean, it had to be within 20 seconds of the hanger if she got out of there that quick. Clever idea putting an apparently extremely vulnerable (fatally vulnerable in fact) part of your super battle station within walking distance of the hanger. Real tactical genius, whoever thought that one up.

  • lol wouldnt anyone notice the giant ass beeping from the bomb?

  • What a mini-nuke

  • A simple bomb like that capable of destroying an entire moon-sized space station. What a waste of Imperial resources.

  • yeah probably placed in some critical area where there are something much more volitile like plasma or anti mater reactor material.

    who knows,

I imagin it wold be like trying to take out a battleship or air craft carrior. From the outside, a simple bomb or missile being dropped wouldnt do much damage but if you place a bomb inside next to all the the gas or where they store the missiles, then it would likely be destroyed

  • @ATMofAnubis it was probably placed on some sort of a reactor.

  • @ATMofAnubis pretty sure it was planted on some part of the reactor or something that would explode but I see your point.

  • @ATMofAnubis yes... what a huge waste of resource... then again they could send ships too pickup the scraps and sell it too get a good amount back

  • @ATMofAnubis

Well perhabs there were more bombs and they weren't shown to us. :)

  • @ATMofAnubis yeah i know, and i love how the strom troopers run past the bomb that is sounding off these painfully loud alarms shouting "I AM HERE, DISABLE ME!!!"

  • @ATMofAnubis The bomb was on the power core.

  • that is because imperial stormtroopers are idiots

  • I guess it wasnt really Luke who blew up the Death Star then =D

  • Did you see how the Death Star farted fumes before it blew up out it's "exhaust port"? No wonder Luke defeated the Death Star; He shot a bomb up the battle moon's ass!

  • Lol to add to the gripes about the randomness of this cutscene, why would the bomb be giving off a big wailing sound when it's about to go off? Surely bombs are supposed to be stealthy, you don't want them to alert everyone they're about to go off.

Oh but this is like my favorate game of all time so i'm not meaning this in a bad way :D

  • Also the fact the stormtroopers just ran by the bomb not even bothering to attempt to disarm it

  • Ya you can download this iso online illegally, But ive been playing it since it came out the CPU is fun till you get good but then yo ucan get hamachi and play people online. The gameplay is really pretty in depth and fun especially if you know what you doing. Top notch rts and very under rated.

  • I think the last words of those imperials on the Death Star was "Someone set us up the Bomb."

  • WIN

  • How are you, Sith Lords?

All your DeathStar are belong to us.

  • a bit far-fetched considering the Death Star was the size of a small moon, but nice try. : )

  • Comment removed

  • OK, now I'm officially happy I didn't get Rebellion. Not even Rebel Strike was this cheesy.

  • Have you ever seen anything of the gameplay or did you only watch the cutscenes?

  • yea thats right ignour teh bomb he jsut placed and run after him like ur on crack

  • 0:04 the lasers came from the left of the screen why did the rebel shoot to the right of the screen? 0:09 Yeah those stormtroopers are so out to kill him... with THEIR BARE HANDS!!!! Why shoot him when you can tackle him football style?

  • And for god's sake, don't disarm the bomb!

  • Haha "scratch one death star" ... yes, because we blow them up daily.

  • @LordTharapita exactly what I was thinking when I heard that lol.

  • That's right, a tiny bomb that takes 10 days or less to make is enough to blow up an entire space station with the power to destroy a planet. >_>

  • A torpedo isnt enough to blow up a station is it? No, unless you hit it in the core.

So depending on the significance of where that bomb was placed, your sarcasm is redundant.

  • This all looks too easy to believe :D It seems to be pointless to have deaths stars for empire at all if they all get blown up so easy ;)

  • lol those imperials shouldn't follow him and try to stop the bomb from blowing up

  • I'm sorry, but the 20 second countdown lol

  • so thats how they did it... so the trench thing was just a fake LOL :D

  • I'd be really pissed to find out a tiny BOMB blew up my deathstar. I mean seriously pissed.

    Christ.

  • yeah. They probably placed it close to the hypermatter reactor or something (pipes part of it?)

  • yeah. keep running after the rebel and ignore the explosive charges you just saw him put in your death star.

  • I must have played through dozens or hundreds of campaigns, but I never did this as alliance and I never had it happen to me as Empire.

Nice to see it for once.

  • Yah, it was freaking near impossible to get a successful rebel sabotage team to blow the Death Star in Star Wars Rebellion. I tried it, again and again, they always failed. It was just as hard having a strike team successfully capture the Emperor, unless I sent Luke with them. But then there was like a 50% chance that Luke just ended up captured too and I would have to send another team to rescue his ass. Which was was easy if the Empire moved him off Coruscant. Hard otherwise.

  • Does anybody else think the Imperials come off as complete idiots in this scene after not noticing that bomb?

  • Also, one of the stormies had a direct shot at him, but didn't even try it.

Another thing - as if the ship could have gotten away. They have like 1000 turbolasers!

  • Yes...but no point defense systems. That's why they employed snub fighters instead of capital ships, dumbass.

Still, this is HIGHLY unlikely. I am done being a star wars geek for the day now! thnx guys.

  • no defuse kit? ^^

  • Although it's Non-Canon, it's still pretty cool.

  • yeah it's impossible i like to use a trainer to set the death star value set to 1(that way i have a death star in each planet) and the rebels never ever tried to blow up my deathstars

  • omg thats terrorism!"

  • If he placed that bomb to middle of the Death Star, how the heck did he run 80km from the middle to his shuttle and flied off in 30 seconds? Lol, fast legs!

  • lol,ur soooo right!!!lmao.maybe he used force speed :P and how a little bomb like this can blow up a giant battlestation???XD

  • blowing up motors?

  • something to deal with the reactor which was sabotaged, which then caused a cascade meltdown effect. Explains the whole 20 second countdown....I hope.

  • did something to overwhelm the reactor or something. That's my best guess given there was a 30 second countdown until it blowing up (I don't think he went from somewhere near the reactor core to the hangar in the edge in less than 30 seconds)...apparently the destruction you see on the outside is delayed and it was a build-up.

  • LOL alternative ending to Episode IV

  • dude... lol

  • if only it were that easy

  • i've never seen this cutscene ever. if i'm on the empire, the rebels never blow up my death star, and if i'm on the rebels, well the computer almost never makes one.

  • Pfff, impossible.

  • This is so far fetched, with the amount of fail safe systems on it? he blows up one thing and the whole thing goes? come on, the exhaust port, fair enough as it goes to the reactor, but some random tubes? the plans must be VERY flawed in that case...

  • OMG that suck ass!! Empire CANT be det stupid! LOL XD Why didnt they shoot the guy or why they let the bomb destroy everything XD (old game...:P)

  • So its that easy ...

  • scratch one death star!!!!

  • It seems to me like there must only be two stormtroopers on the entire death star, cause that one guy didn't get shot at from any turrets or anything on the way out. And didn't it occur to either of those stormtroopers that there was a bomb attached to... whatever that was? That's your galactic tax credits at work, ladies and gentlemen.

  • Doo de doo, just gonna stroll right out of here...

  • this is soo glitched... how can a little bomb destroy a moon in one hit?

i think i know, he placed it in the core of that moon, BUT, how he run that fast to the side of it, lol...

  • He hits the coolant sistem and so the ship blows out of overheating?

  • That's no moon, it's a space station!

  • He can do the 100+km dash in 30 seconds :)

  • I love how the saboteur casually jogs away from the Stormtroopers.

  • that was the best death of the death star yet

  • Thats gonna leave a mark....

  • lol no wonder the empire lost if the rebels have bombs that small that can take out moon sized battle stations

  • lol they run so slow

  • "Strike team Altha base, Scrath one: Death Star!" Cool boom

  • "Security breach. Send 2 stormtroopers to investigate and keep the 7,000 others at their stations. The rest will make sure no shuttle takes off."

  • lol so true

  • lol

    You make a good point.

    ROFL

  • zomg its in arbaic numerals not aur besh inaccurate!!!111111

Glad to know no one's being an ass about continuity around here.

  • Look out, a rebel spy! Hurry, send two stormtroopers after him and ignore the equipment he was just messing with!

  • lol

  • haha i played it when i was a child , soo boring :D

  • Then why, may I ask, did you play it?

  • cause back then i had only a few games to play like 3 or 4 and all of them were boring ;o)

and actually i didnt care back then.

  • your tellin me that tiny bomb did that?...ok...i'll just pretend I never saw this...

  • well at least it isn't canon.

  • Yep, it's just that easy to blow up a moon sized battle station.

These things are blown out of proportion way too much. :/

  • lol, and it took 30 seconds for them to FLY out of the alien mothership and get clear of the blast in Independence Day.

  • one death star?...... they make it sound like there are more then one of them........

  • In this game you can build as many Death Stars as you like, you just can't have more than one at one system (due to "gravitational effects"). I had five of them running around one game. They're pretty handy... instantly kill one capital ship at the start of a fight, huge bombardment value and lots of storage space.

  • cool this game is begining to sound like empire at war

  • Similar but different... It's a lot more complex and turn based, whereas most of EaW is real-time. I personally like Rebellion better. Rather than just out and out attacking, you can send your units on missions to research new technology, sway political favour to your side, spy on your opponents, kidnap enemy characters, sabotage enemy units, etc, etc, etc...

  • yeah this game dose sound like its more complex then emipre at war.......

  • @darkknight109 in other words, more on the strategic level than on EaW, which I consider to be more a operational or tactical based scenario.

  • @Armyof1993 Pretty much, yeah. You can direct individual fleet battles but, overall, you're playing on a galactic scale, where Empire At War has you playing a series of planetary-scale engagements.

  • Empire at War is like this game.

  • Wow I've never seen that actually work.

  • i love this game! so many people undercut it.

  • This is new to me too-there is a cutscene where the deathstar is destroyed by fighters as well-I have had that happen-makes having a roaming death star near useless-only good for defending coruscant with a shield protecting it-one shot and a capital ship is destroyed-the power. Not a good idea to destroy planets makes you loss the game-everyone hates you to much. There is a scene showing a planet being destroyed to of course

  • This is why you ALWAYS have LOTS of fighters around your Death Star. If you have enough fighters, your opponent cannot make trench runs.

  • Never seen this before, stupid Imperial AI.

  • Alot seems to suggest that the AI was modeled after Admiral Ozzel. Clumsy and stupid. :-P

  • I know, the only time I've *ever* seen the empire construct it, was when I used RebEd. Made the DS the only ship they could build, and lowered the cost to 1.

When a battle starts with a DS on the opponents side, a rebel says in a surprised tone "Standby alert? Death Star Approaching". And when the DS shoots, he yells "THE DEATH STAR IS FIRING ON US".

  • And the computer has NEVER disabled my Deathstars... I build about 3 so...

  • me too. And I blow the reble base up with it.

  • Idem! xD

  • Wow, I've never seen this before because the computer NEVER makes a Death Star!

  • seconded

  • I can take coruscant within 600 days without cheats. I only use the Han Solo Chewbacca method of taking over an imperial system by bombing a imp. planet that needs a garrison of troops to prevent uprising. One Corvette + One Escort Transport + 4 Y-wings and 2 X-wings. Then I put Han Solo and Chewbacca on the Carrier and promote Han to Admiral. Bombing the garrisoned system that supports you is a super easy way to gain ten planets and their resources.
