@paulockleford If you have iron weights go out to the side of your lawn and do your power cleans, its safe to drop it in the grass as long as its thick or the dirt is moist, the weights will sink in about an inch every time though.
One of the best moves for overall body strenght.... I did this a lot back in the day when I still played hockey. I could powerclean as much as I benched which was 300lbs.
It's basicly an easy move but takes some time to master properly.
rest haha. Doctor prescribed me medicine to help with inflammation but it's really a lot of rest, not lifting with my left arm, definetly take it easy. I bought a new bottle of Super Cissus RX to help, look into that if you'd like.
Simply lower it back down, go through the motions of the clean- deadlift-upright row--switch-squat, in reverse- switch your wrists back round and lower it to the floor :)
@GriNGoLocoTe And if you have heavy weights with no chalk, dropping it to the hang position can be killer on your palms and fingers. Better just to drop and guide it to the floor.
uhm im sorta new to weight lifting can u tell me y some ppl hold it on the way baq down and some pple dont like in this vid they jus drop it wut would u reccomend???
It's been 3 months, but incase you haven't figured out...Some gyms don't have bumper plates, and they can mess up the floor if you just drop them, I think. And, if there are bumper plates, they jump around a lot and if you don't catch them bad things will happen.
Not very many people know how to do a good power clean. you just watch and learn and hope the guy youre watching and learning from knows what he's doing.
What separates a power clean from a clean is that you catch the bar above parallel in a power clean - the above parallel catch is what defines a power clean.
I only have standard cast iron plates, Im guessing they could smash if I dropped the bar like that in my garage?
I dont want to risk it to find out as they are so expensive!

I'm just dropping it, those are bumper plates on the bar

oo ok i wasnt sure y u were doing tht lol

Doesn't the complete exercise involve lowering it down as well instead of dropping it? Or is it normal to drop it?
GriNGoLocoTe 2 years ago
It's normal to drop it. There really isn't much of an eccentric component to the classical lifts.
Cruks 2 years ago
How would you do it without dropping it? I have a sensitive floor, dropping would shatter it. And I also think my weights aren't drop proof.

Wear wrist wraps or do forearm workouts, they tend to strengthen my wrists.

you are suppose to squat you idiot, if your gonna demo do it right.

It's a 'POWER' clean, not a squat clean.
What separates a power clean from a clean is that you catch the bar above parallel in a power clean - the above parallel catch is what defines a power clean.
Thanks for watching

I'd say throwing weights like that on the ground is not recommended.
policeman1313 3 years ago
LOL - The weights are bumper plates which are made to be dropped (I'm not throwing them).
