Why in God's name....does Gary HATE to play his old stuff from '79 like this?? What he needs to realise is that after his futuristic imagery and total storyline of androids, rape machines, and killing off the human race that no one else has been able to do that since in music and so that void is one that only he can fill. AND IT'S ALL STILL SO FRESH AND UN-PLAYED OUT.
It's nothing to be ashamed of. Even Janelle Monae's Arch Android being based on Metropolis, is gonna be different from him.
@jrmetmoi I am with you. The old material is phenomenal and his industrial new stuff does not quite work at times. He has flashes of brilliance but nothing like Replicas. Still I am glad he returned to the old stuff for these tours as it shows a total commitment to what the fans want. He would prefer to play Jagged of course as its all new. I hope his new album released soon is different and not just more Jagged style (quiet verses, loud choruses and lots of distortion)
cheers as im a short arse and was at the back this is the most ive seen hope for a venue with better view next time but great gig where did the drummer go?
hugh fernley whitting wotsit wont let people keep chickens like that so0 why numan fans?but better than no concert atall thanks gary for the music over the years and loads of great concerts and fans for numan discos
Good pint it is a poor venue i hardly saw anything of the set and little of Mr Numan...but still very glad i was there for the experience. would have been a much better gig in Manchester Apollo..wonder why he doesnt gig there these days..mabe the academy is closer to the uni and younger fans?
