I am not sure, but maybe he operates the device that syncs the fireworks with the song. Imagine a keyboard that plays fireworks... the fireworks are very accurately timed there, I doubt a preprogrammed ignition system or non-musician fireworker can do it that perfect.

The song is about a guy from Austria, Joseph Fritzl, who kept his daughter prisoned in his basement, for 12 years. He abused her in many ways and she even got pregnat 1 or 2 times, only the second survived the birth. I think it's 2 or 3 years ago, before she escaped and went to the police. All this happened in a small village in Austria and no seemed to matter or wondering, what was going on in the basement. Rammstein is very good to write songs about horrible things, as Mein Teil and this one.

this is not correct. she was prisoned from 1984 to 2008 and was pregnant 7 times. 6 kids survived, one was dead. fritzl burned the baby body in his heating system. he brings 3 of the kids to normal life and the other 3 kids had to live with her mother in the basement-prison. they escaped because one of the kids was ill, and he allowed to bring it to a doctor. so it was over.this is the stuff what rammstein uses as theire lyrics in this song. try to understand this stuff- its great!

This definetely is one of Rammstein's best songs, sure it's not meant to be "catchy" but the lyrics are top notch as they always are in Rammstein's songs, the angers there as usual and they put the cream on the cake with the amazing performance, especially with the extension of Flake's synth.
