@JetMechMA You absolutely don't understand one thing about engineering mate. This dam is safe, just trust us. Or you can go in an engineering school for 5 years and finally have a better idea of what is going on.
@DYLONayms Oh yeah sure I trust it....to fail. Just LOOK at it. The surrounding rock the dam is built into gets WIDER after the dam, not narrower. With the water at THAT level, you can't be sure what will happen to the dam. That's a disaster waiting to happen. It's quite an amazing video.

Every modern dam are made taking into account floods, surrounding rock stability and strength. Moreover, routine deformation monitoring and monitoring of seepage from drains in and around dams are made to anticipate any problems.

And I'm sure you're familiar with the titanic erosion that took place in the spillways, which was a surprise to the engineers.....best laid plans and all. They almost lost both dams.

@JetMechMA The Dam's burden is not dependant on the flow, it just depends on the height, the gravity and water density. So the dam is absolutly safe
The damage cause by such a huge flow is downstream
