This was not literally done for freedom or to get oil. It was so Iraqi oil could make its way to the market -- whether the Iraqis liked it or not.

Iran Doesn't strive for nuclear weapon because of the war in Iraq. The 9/11 attacks weren't because of the war in Iraq.
Its very clear that the American motives behind the war in Iraq are far from being pure. And its also very clear that if someone is Muslim, its doesn't mean that he's a radical shahid. @fredriknorand by "invaded" do you mean we gave them fair warning we were coming, asked their leaders to leave the country, then after moving in, we gave them back their country, helped them elect their own leaders, helped rebuild schools, hospitals & infrastructure like roads, water, electricity, allowed businesses to open, women to go to school, people are no longer executed in the town square, no rape or torture. If thats "invaded" than yes they were.

@fredriknorand - Tell me how many countries have given an enemy leader a chance to leave peacefully? None in my study of history. America is the ONLY country ever to win wars against other countries then help that country rebuild, create a new leadership and then self govern. The US is unique in this regard in the history of the planet. But I agree, the war was mishandled and the Iraq & Afghan leaders are milking out support. Is time they stepped up to the plate and took over already.

The U.S. is trying to build up entirely new capitalistic markets from dictatorship, hence their so-called "benevolent" will. Its not simply oil (it will end someday), its about creating new dependence markets. I just don't know how it works, but the Americans seem to know what they're doing in the long run.

Being outspoken and talking loudly all the time aren't the same thing as being intelligent. Johnny's had his heart in the right place a few times but his true gift has been the way he's managed to sustain a lengthy career through constant self-promotion by telling the "truth" and being "honest".
