Hi jim great show again,here in England we use Breathing Apparatus Entry Control Officers to work out times and monitor when B.A.wearers should come out,do you have anything like that in the U.S. or do you guys just manage your own air.

Great question. Most departments have policies. We manage our own air and we have a "heads-up" display to manage air. When one member of the crew runs low on air, we ensure that they exit with another crew member. We make sure they stay in teams of at least two persons.

RIT teams are Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) They go in to save distressed Firefighters. At least thats how it is at my station

that's exactly right but in my area a RIT team is called a FAST Team

GREAT question. Briefly it is the Rapid Intervention Team. We set one up at every structure fire. If things go bad inside, the RIT can be rapidly deployed in seconds. I will look at a show on that. Submit the question on our website!! Then if used we can get you a t-shirt
