  • well this is nice however things to consider here... 2 projectors even cheep models are $500 each. You can just buy a 3d projector for 1000+ also if you blow a bulb in either one of them 2 projectors or even both you looking at 2 x the expense in the long run this solution is more costly then to just do it the right way from the get go.

  • @Rarshaiz Think before you rant.

Firstly this was done while the only 3D projectors were using double framerate alternating images requiring active glasses. Secondly, there is a patent on single projector with polarized 3D held by a chinese or japanese and it is blatantly obvious but nontheless a patent. This limits the manufacturers making such projectors.

Further more, this was a demonstration that it was possible to set up a passive glasses 3D at home compatible with cinema glasses.

  • caraa vc ganhou o premio nobel de tonto!!!!

  • Dude cheers for doing this I work at the cinemas and understand fully how the RealD projectors work. I was thinking about trying it out but the polarised lenses are so expensive. I see you used the glasses lenses to polarise the light, don't the lenses melt after a while?

  • read the description...its cool

  • I have real D 3D glasses but my glasses work in the theaters not on this video

  • @TheTigerunleashed I want you to read the other comments and then reply.

I am wondering if I need to add a 13'th point on this.

  • @TheTigerunleashed ma bad thought it would work tryed it with other youtube clips and its works but no this one.

  • aff

  • WOW MY EYES HURT ALREADY

  • @scar259 ............... same here :p

  • Why so many dislikes ? What he write and show in wideo is nothing new or unreal.

  • thats bullshit cause av got the same 3d glasses on and no change.

  • @djdiligence Congratulations, you win the price for stupidity.

  • @1kreature

    price or prize ??

  • @DJTempo2k7 LOL. True. English is not my native language, but I try...

  • Comment removed

  • @djdiligence Dude, of course it doesn't work! You're not using a 3D monitor :)

  • whats the filmtitel???

  • @SeirenYeah Journey to the center of the earth, as explained earlier in the comments.

  • @1kreature aah.. i saw that film but i don't remember that scene ^^ thx

  • я не чё не понял

  • stupid question, well intelligent compared to others being asked here, can you get the same effect from a single projector that rapidly alternates between the different angels with minimal flicker, each also alternating polarization? can it done?

  • @iGaRaai90 Yes you can. Infact the blatantly obvious solution of adding two sets of region to the colorwheel, one for each polarization, has even been patented.

A single projector can then alternate between the two images.

There is another approach though. Using two dlp chips and joining the images optically. This second approach would allow both images to be displayed with full frequency and thus also have a higher intensity.

  • este vide no sirve

  • 3D movies and games are fucking stupid. a gimmick that stupid people buy into.

  • @lvanhorn2 why exactly is it only stupid people enjoy 3d? thats quite a stupid comment to make, 3d is one of the biggest things to hit the movie and games industry in quite some time. Have you even tried 3d gaming on a projector with the likes of battlefield 3? no? didnt think so

  • I'm surprised you were able to do this yourself. How'd you get the polarization on the projectors though? This seems interesting for a DIY.

  • @RLPGENERATION 1 word: Tape

  • nice what the tille of the movies

  • @darkie21o Journey to the center of the earth

  • @darkie21o your 3d glass have a battery?

  • which film is this?

  • deja de weiar con los lentes

  • Oh yeah good choice of movie btw loved Journey to the center of the earth.

  • Now to sound like a fan boy if I were wanting to watch a show like lets say dot hack sign or something and do what you did to make it RealD 3D how hard would that be and how much would it be to get 2 projectors and all the equipment sorry to sound like a noob or not make sense.

  • @MilesTailsPrower2008 The movie has to be in 3D already and come in a 2-image mode. Either side-by-side, interleaved or in 2 image-streams.

  • my tv look like your glasses, i dont want a tv with doble image XD, you will buy and will buy that glasses.

  • gave thumbs up to counter the thumbs down..

p.s. you can kinda see it in 3d.. move the glasses faster next time ;)

  • I had to read the comments twice as I thought I'd misunderstood something - the guy has done an amazing job - what I failed to understand was how fucking retarded people on Youtube apparently are. I literally can't understand how people get that stupid.

  • @Chris1479 hmm,good question.

maybe it's because of your big ego?

    Explain me this...

What's the use of showing people 3D if we use computer monitors?

Your much more intelligent then all those retarded people on youtube so please share us your knowledge:)

  • Oh my goodness, some peoples kids! "hold the glasses still cause I wanna watch a duggum 3d movie on my computer through your video camera" ... Good job with the video.

  • hahahahah so stupid and no knowledge people...

Man you have done a GREAT job. Respect... i wish i have time to make the same to my house..

Maybe i will wait for the prices to drop to get an LG 3d cinema projector... right now costs about 20 grands.. next year i hope for half this price or more..

    Anyway.. GREAT job again

  • hold them still for at least a minute then something would actually be accomplished in this video yeah its cool when you move them side to side but it gets tiresome ii know its only 29 seconds but you could at least have held it still for a minute

  • you cant see the 3D effect with a normal screen of a PC

    , boy or man

  • you are a stupid :D

    hold the glasses still

  • I would like to apologize for all the dumbasses responding to your video that don't freakin' understand what you've accomplished.

YouTube is full of fucking morons. If you thought you were going to be able to watch this video in 3D, or in any other way thought this was something other than a demonstration of his 3D home system setup, you should sue your parents for allowing you to grow up stupid.

  • While I appreciate what you were trying to do, you moved the glasses around too fast for me to see anything. Maybe you can try again. But I don't think its will work since the camera still has only "one eye" (so-to-speak).

  • if you know them couldnt you create a filter for each color and overlay them on the computer, this way you dont use two projectors

  • @MrPchakers There are no colors, it is circularly polarized light. Clockwise and counter-clockwise polarized.

  • what are the colors used in the realD 3D glasses?

  • @MrPchakers They aren't colors, dumbass. It uses polarized light. Get a basic understanding of high school-level physics.

  • Stupid video ever

  • you stupid, you should have atleast kept the glasses still

  • @DUDE190188 If I had kept the glasses still, what would that have accomplished?

You still wouldn't have seen 3D. Instead you wouldn't see the same position on the screen from the two different viewpoints of the eyes either. I moved the glasses so that you could see that indeed, the screen looks different through each eye. That was the only way to convay such information through a 2D camera and youtube.

  • @1kreature

and you did it, Thank you

  • y does this have so many dislikes

  • @YaBoiRexX Because people misunderstand the obvious title and get dissappointed they can't see 3D video on their home monitors from my video. Because they are incredible petty they then press dislike. It's actually a great study in human-nature. Maby I will get the nobel price for this as a human-study in 10 years? LOL

  • @1kreature No it's a good job man.we need people like you exploring what can or cant be done. I bought a 3d tv and actually connected my pc to it. I have a simple pc that has a onboard ati 4200 video card and wanted to display some 3d content on my tv did some research and found out It couldn't be done with the right hardware.

  • @1kreature I got the impression that I needed purchase a nvidia video card and nvidia software to transmit to my 3dtv. I said WTF I have to buy more stuff. So I just bought a dvi to hdmi splitter to transmit to my tv and opened up nba2k12 and what do you know it worked. Next is to get some 3d blue ray movies to rip to see if that is going to work on my tv and my regular monitor. Just kinda urked with Nvidia trying to pull a fast one by making the consumer think they need their hardware to get 3d

  • @1kreature you should have include "For People Who Understand Basic 3D" in the title. Some of these people don't even understand the 11 steps in the description or they don't bother to read.I wish Youtube could put an I.Q. test to check their level of intelligence before they can put in any comments.

  • BOO!!!!!

  • I dont know if it's me but the glasses just reminded me of eric morecambe

  • how are you splitting the projection ?? from a single blu-ray player or via PC using some software ???

  • Was that movie Journey to the Center of the Earth?

  • LOL people actually thought it was a video that worked with RealD glasses?

What part of the title/description is giving people that idea?

  • come on I put on my real d 3d glasses & it didnt work

  • @Jetters234 I wish I could charge a stupid-tax on Youtube...

  • @1kreature hahahahahahha` lol

  • @1kreature look I may of been a bit stupid for some time here but I have a 3D TV now and these glasses dont work on mine either! So it aint so bad

  • @1kreature lol. you're right . just look at all the idiots who down rated the video just cause they're too retarded to understand that 3d can be quite cheap...2 old projectors 300X2 euros, cheap polarisation with 1 euros lens from cinema glasses, and tridef or iz3d driver.

so have you tryed iz3d driver ? or tridef ( ddd ) ?

  • @Jetters234 That ain't the point...

  • it shows the difrent position of the two screens coz of stripes on the glasses. combidet will work. two camerac and combiding pictures will give the results from begining. two position of the screans.... if you want show this on normal tv without glasses. tv needs to projekting two pictures blinking cross to have a effect without glasses

  • i feel sorry for the video uploader to have to deal with a bunch of unintelligent morons ,obviously they dont have a clue what gives 3D ( 2 images from different angles ) and yet the twats always saying about using same image for 2 projectors

  • means I have two projectors connect them put a movie on a player and the same in another while each lens of each projector will put a polarized lens in RealD 3D glasses and play and you

  • @vapechid1 wrong.

Will not work. The two projectors can't use the same image...

  • @1kreature must be trimmed as well as the image on the right and left true

  • @1kreature so you use streoscopc player in 2 monitors mode and of course have a grafics card with 2 outputs you connected to 2 beamers ? Am i right?

  • @tubesatsatt 100% correct!

  • it kindda works if u cross ur eyes slightly inward..lol

  • Seriously people, if you don't understand what the person is trying to demonstrate here, down rate the video down. Read the description, it makes sense. Thank you for writing the description by the way. Great vid too.

  • it doesn't work unless you use the minoru 3d webcam with 2 lenses

  • @MyFlorida7 You can't film a polarized screen with a 3D camera to see the 3D. You could film it with two polarized cameras however,

  • ...And @assianred stop lying

  • @Dalyntheska8r after I watched the video I went to comment the exact Same thing lmfao these guys are idiots. And the description doesn't say shit cause we still have other idiots asking dumb shit like "uhhh am I supposed to put my face close to the screen?" omgee all u people this video was a waste of time - it's pointless (literally!). Like this comment I'm posting.

  • @mrmozeil and @dalynthesk8r Are you two really serious?

It's ok to be stupid but seriously, are you expecting to SEE a 3D effect at your home with my video?

The point of this is to show a comercially available film playing in 3D on a home system and to show that the two eyes are indeed seeing a different perspective. To do this I have to move the glasses to show the parralax shift. This proves that my screen keeps the polarization intact and that the glasses can work as polazrizing filters.

  • IF YOU WANT US TO ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO SEE IF ITS WORKING KEEP THE FUCKING GLASSES IS ONE FUCKING SPOT ASSHOLE!

  • do we have to put our face to our screens or wahhh?

  • Its popping right at me!

  • My dam glasses didn't work -:(

  • u got mad asshole

  • that's way kool - re: Stereoscopic player, got paid version and have difficulty navigating some dvd menus so sometimes can't even get to a movie's beginning - is there something I didn't download?

  • wtf, I have my real d glasses, they don't work.. sadface.

  • Thumbs up if anyone noticed the faint red and cyan in the lenses

  • why so many thumbs down? this is very nice!

  • how the fuck should i am able to watch it when u fking move it all the freacking time?

  • U need to move the glases 60 times a second or we wont se any 3D effect ( we ned 3d monitor to) :)

  • @1kreature i love passive 3d even more since i got my lg 55' cinema 3dtv for the living room, cheap glasses and you know what. I am very interested in doing a setup similar to yours, can you let me know which projector you used for it? and were the filters on the glasses big enough to cover the lens? also what's the resolution of the projector?

  • Ok, what I would like to know is if the filters from the theater glasses could handle the light from the projectors.. Did they get hot or what?

  • how'd you do this?

  • I had 3D glasses on and it looked like I did not have them on at all

  • i just want to know if i use the reald 3d glasses as a filter over both of the lenses, will i get the reald 3d effect? my camera is a 3d webcam, i use it to broadcast my 3d dj shows

  • i am using 2 cams, problem is when i do the 3d it is in red/cyan. if i put it in 3d mode, and get it lined up, then switch to 2d mode using the glasses on each of the lenses for filters,,, will it possibly work?

  • @paahhlui You are not supposed to try and lime them up. Then the 3D effect dissappears.

The only thing that should line up is the point of convergence and focus which should be in middle of image.

Stuff in front and back of that should be offset/skewed.

  • I have been trying to create the reald 3d on the minoru webcam. If i use it in 2d, and put the filters over the front, will it stream in reald 3d? email me please dougiefreshthedj@yahoo.com Thanks :)

  • @paahhlui No, no and utter no.

    Read the description.

You can not create 3D from 2D. You need to use two cameras in paralell.

  • FAIL

  • i used real ed glasses to see if i could see the 3d on my screen but sadley it didnt work :L

    and awesome

  • You made this yourself using a couple of projectors and polarized lenses? Awesome!

  • @StreetsCorner By letting the paint form a microtexture instead of a glossy finish you don't get hotspotting.

The hard part was getting the structure finer than the resolution of the projector which is approximately 0.7mm wide pixels at 102" screen. My structures are approx 0.2mm and are made by using a quite dry roller for the paint-passes. This makes it harder to get the entire screen even though, and it took a lot of coats to get it right.

  • I know this movie : Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D (2008)

  • I just ordered 2 projectors to do this with also. Just dropped on this video by accident.

Nice to see someone else figured it out also. Although I will mount my projectors one above the other. You can also get adapters that make this work with ps3 games in 3d. It basically converts the input source to a type the projector can use. But that only works with current 3d projectors. I doubt it will work with this setup. But yes with pc its possible to turn everything 3d.

  • @Armookie thats a lie, you cant turn 3d stuff into 3d if its the same 3d, it wont effect it at all so not "everything" will work with pc

  • @nuttyriversRules Most Projectors work in a way that do not support the hdmi of the ps3 3d. Don't call me a liar when I know and use the adpters that will convert ps3 3d to work on 1.3 hdmi with a current 3d projector.

1kreature has also figured out the way to project using polarizing filters on two projectors. This is how the cinemas project movies in 3d. Also most games can be used in 3d if you are using nvidia gpu or with tridef 3d if you use ati or other brand gpu card.

  • Very well done. So simple and people are only just getting how it's done.

It's the same way the cinema's use because the glasses are cheap and don't need wires or batteries. The polarizing filter is all thats needed. You can pick those glasses up in the local £1 shop.

  • 129 idiots have no fuggin clue...

  • I just finished my last dos equis so i guess i'll just have to go get me some more

  • What projectors are you using?

  • dude there are glasses which convert 2D images to 3D it contains a micro-chip

  • I have teh glasses :P

  • Journey to the Center of the Earth WIN!!

  • how did you do that???

im trying to discover the same thing

  • What silver paint did you use exactly? I was looking at paintonscreen 3DHD but that is $299 a gallon. Any advice would be awesome.

  • thanks bro.

  • Smart

  • AHORA COMO COÑOS REECUPERO LOS 29 SEGUNDOS DE MI VIDA

  • I have been wondering if this worked for ages, people saying the glasses are completely pointless anywhere but the 3D cinema's, but now i can prove them wrong!

I am planning on setting up a 3D cinema experience for a college assignment and your video and description has helped me a lot, Thanks So much!!!

  • @jack0halliwell Thanks. And yes it does really work.

The trick is to use the glasses as filters "backwards". Put them on the projector as if it was wearing them.

  • duh just use stereoscopic player to see 3d movies u can set as per ur 3d glasses and view any movie on ur computer on 3d

  • @Alankartambe1 So your computer has a 100" monitor ?

    I like proper home cinema.

  • @1kreature

    2560/1600 = better than "HD".

When I publish a production, that is my minimum distribution resolution, (@120hz) or more depending on my intended market @ release.

Far superior to my "proper" HD Theater.

It's my preferred minimum viewing resolution.

Unfortunately, original data w/o compression must be available, if you want "better than HD" standards.

Not hard if you master, but GL finding other "First generation" media.

2560/1600 (16:10:) = is still not a true "golden Rectangle"...

  • @nazaxprime This is the quality that was available on the blu-ray disc for this movie.

The technique works with any projector quality. This just shows how it works and THAT it works. RealD 3D is easy to play back at home on a home theather.

A chinese has patented the obvious though, to put the polarizing in the colorwheel of the dlp projector. This would allow perfect alignment and the use of a single projector. When runing 2D you would let it use same image on both channels ofcource.

  • @1kreature no its a normal 21" but stereoscopic player is a software to view 3d vidios..

  • crazy!

  • Nice setup. I've been considering doing a polarized projection setup for a while but I have no idea how I'd get the software to work with it. I've been using IZ3D's driver to do anaglyph stereoscopy but I'd like some proper color. ;) This would primarily be used with games instead of movies, though. Know any software that would work with this purpose?

  • @Zencyde Nvidia has a driver for games. It might allow 2-screen output. Then it would be compatible with a 2-proj polarized setup.

  • So in theory all you need are 2 standard projectors, pc with bluray, software to split each image and a good reflective screen?

But the real question is the quality of the 3D, Is it as good as the proper 3D displays or projectors?

  • @187781jason Cosidering the crosstalk present on the cheap 3D systems it is better. But compared to the good shutterglass or polarized screen systems it is about 80%.

  • @1kreature

    Thanks buddy ;)

  • For those of you complaining, RealD sells a 46" LCD TV that can play HD and 3D with passive eyewear. It costs $5,000 and comes with 10 eyeglasses. If you compare with other 3D TVs that charge for the glasses, or that require batteries in the glasses, this isn't a bad deal. It's a professional grade screen initially designed for business and university use.

They also sell a portable 3D projector; you have to contact the company for the price.

  • @Decktrio sorry it costs $5,500 (I forgot a 5). :3

  • if i buy a 3d glasess does it work with my normal multimedia LCD

  • @deviljnk Of course not...

  • one question, WTF r u doing??

  • @AgainSpawn44 With this type of 3D each side of the glasses filters out one of the two video streams projecting. So your left sees one and your right sees the other, he is showing the difference between the two sides, the further an object is apart between the two frames the closer it will appear. If you look closely you see the screen without the glasses is double and blurry, but when he puts the glasses up you see a clear picture because it's eliminating one of the images. Pretty cool.

  • @PWCGaming Thank you for being 1 out of 1000 that actually understand what I was trying to demonstrate :)

All I was doing was proving to people that expensive technology is NOT needed to display 3D cinema for RealD 3D glasses. The only real important factor is the screen, which has to be reflective so as to preserve the polarization of the light. Without it the light is absorbed and re-transmitted with random polarity causing the images to blend.

  • Journey to the center of Earth.. Right??

  • @Tutovillage Yep

  • how come i cant see the 3d with my real d glasses?

  • @mickeymouse14 This is a 2D video on youtube. I can see 3D at home using MY glasses watching this. You can't.

  • So, when you watch a 3D movie on this system, do you need to wear 3D glasses?

  • @Pipelyon Yes, but only the cheap polarized kind from RealD cinemas.

  • can any type of polarized glasses work?

  • @3089280288 RealD 3D type works when you use them as filters. If you have horizontal and vertical polarized ones, they work too but you would then also need to use that kind as filters for the projectors.

  • @1kreature OK

  • unnötiges video

  • @MrsLadyGagaa unnötiges comment

  • wich configuration do i have to play with the stereoscopic player?

  • @juanisimo1290 The multi-display options and a video mode based on your content.

  • is that journey to the center of the earth

the blueray copy i bought only has custom color anaglyph
