@rachele96oldfashion They really were great on the screen. They had a true respect for each other and friendship. That certainly showed on the screen. They enjoyed working together. We're lucky we have 3 movies from them !! I was just getting ready to put this song on my page for awhile .. what a coincidence you commented !!

@rachele96oldfashion Yes - they did remain friends. In fact in July 1985 Rock appeared as Doris' first guest on her CBN Doris Day's Best Friends tv talk show about animals. She saw that he was ill, her son Terry said she wanted him to move into her guest house so she could take care of him. He declined and passed away in October 1985. In fact - he passed away before the episode aired and she made a very heartfelt, lovely intro about him on the program.
