he's just touching the string on the 12 fret, it's called tap harmonic! ;)

@nikos1995patra When you play a natural harmonic at the 7th fret on an open string you're making the string vibrate in thirds and the resulting note is one octave+a perfect fifth higher than the open string. In this vid I'm fretting at the fourth fret on the G string and tapping a natural harmonic 7 frets higher (the 11th fret) to get the same behaviour from the string (i.e one octave+ fifth above fretted note) 4+7 = 11

what kind of effects are you using? i love that tone on leads. Everyone claims it's delay on the rocky george solos, but it just sounds like an echo effect.

I'm using the Boss GT-pro here. Distortion comes from pre-amp section (loads of gain on a model of a MESA Dual Rectifier) and a bit of delay and reverb. That's all.

I was a massive ST fan in the 90s, and being a guitarist too, I was always mightily impressed by Rocky George's style of playing. The term underrated is thrown around too much on youtube, but I think that Rocky is definitely very very underrated by many. Not many people even know of him.

I am not even going to comment on how gay that guitar is, but great playing! Wish I could play leads like that! Rocky does kick ass, he is probably the most under rated guitar play of his time, BUT revolution was their best album in my opinion, they didnt have a list of greats like the other trash bands of the 80's and 90's.

just saw rocky playing with Fishbone- what an awesome fit! it was quite the departure from this sound and he blended very well with their ska, jazz, funk, reggae style. i was very impressed.
