'Electric Arguments' is a great album but more of a Paul McCartney solo album with Youth producing than the third Fireman album, as that project is instrumental. Perhaps, as Paul has said recently, it's really 'McCartney III' since he played everything on it and the timing was about right as he released I and II toward a decade with the respective bands he was in, Beatles and Wings. This time though, no split with current band is on the horizon.
Sir Paul McCartney is amazing! Just like all of his songs and the Lennon/McCartney songs :) I honestly cant decide if i like the beatles more or just Paul on his own:/
One cool thing about the fireman is not know McCartney is in the band. This is a classic example of what I don't like...the fireman needs to keep McCartney out of the picture. To me it's just another McCartney song and not even a good one at that.
Thats your opinion, most people who go on this song and comment on it put good comments otherwise its a waist of time and you just get enemies. Take your opinion on to a slipknott video.
Paul went through a period in the eighties when he seemed a little lost musically. Not that he didn't make some damn fine music. He did. Remember "Press to Play"? It was after "Give My Regards To Broadstreet" a failure as judged by the critics, but pretty good actually. Anyway, after that and with "Press To Play" he became more inventive and less hit oriented. His music since has been perhaps more interesting. It was always interesting; just a bit more though after "Press". Love the Fireman.
Paul McCartney teamed up with Youtube producer. Both used pseudonyms just for fun. Paul = "The Fireman" Youtube guy= "Youth" They basically just got together and wrote music for fun, and called their album THe Fireman: Electric Arguments"
@BrandonColon this album is a colaberation of paul and the youth ... if you wanna hear the best tracks they are Sing the changes and Highway (live version is best) ... hope you enjoy
To be positive and remain hopeful, this is the song. I keep this song in my head. It is my salvation. Even if the sun isn't shining I hear this song and suddenly it is.
Nah, sounds like an early Wings track to me. The background vocals have a very Denny Laine/Linda McCartney vibe. Coulda been off Red Rose Speedway or Band on the Run. Great track.
I think it's 50/50. It has some great Wings spirit in it. But there are some Abbey Roadish things, too (the global sound for example, tempo, the Ringo-esque drums, etc)
it's the same man- PaulMcCartney who did Beatles,Wings, and now this work with another guy who goes by the name "Youth" of course Paul's music all has some similar style/feel/voice to it- it's the smae guy writing and singing all those songs.
It's not really Beatles-esque because the lyrics are kind of repetitive and the song is a little too simple to be a Beatles song, but it's not really the typical Paul solo song either. This is a new Paul, at peace with life. Really beautiful song.
why would you read a Swedish music magazine? The country has produced exactly one talented musical group in its history. This is a great song on a terrific album.
yeah I know, and Mojo and Uncut are more reliable than the swede magazine
in my (and the rest of the worlds) opinion. But my coworker who is a Lennonfan jumped at the chance when he saw this article to make it clear that Macca is "over the hill". just wait til he sees the Uncut-review!!
A swedish music magazine I sometimes read, gave the Electric arguments-album 2 stars out of 10! TWO!!! the reviewer said that the album was shallow and pauls attempt of being avant gard/exprimental was ridiculous. He also said that he could even find some decent tracks on "London Town" after listening to this....I LOVE LONDON TOWN!!! I got soooo mad when I read this review and almost tore the magazine apart!!! gaaaaah!
Mojo at least gave it 3 stars of 5. wonder what Uncut gave it???
having listened to most of this somewhat experimental but excellent album (some tracks many times already), I have to say this might be the best of the bunch...incredibly catchy, upbeat pop song! How Macca can continue to come up with this stuff-- and sound so youthful-- at the age of 66 is unbelievable to me.

I love Paul, but except for 'Chaos & Creation', his songs since 'Flowers In The Dirt' have been a bit banal, I think.
(I could write and perform songs that are just as good - if not better!...)

On my cd I hear birds. Not on this video. I like the sound of the birds. Sounds like they are chirping.

I looked up the lyrics to this song and that's not what I hear,,I hear birds in the beginning and then
"Every morning I get up"
"Look out the window I get up"
"See the sunshine beating down"
"Every morning comes around" The lyrics say breathing, I hear beating
