@KillTheEmperor17 Yeah It will go to 170 kph then the computer will kick in and shut off fuel to two cylinders and restrict you to 170 kph. I've had mine to about 235 kph maxed out and I have my comp tuned.

@TacticalSuperRebel the 3.4 was actually better in the 1/4 mile than the 3.8, but not 0-60. the problem with the 3.4 dohc is that it wasnt as smooth, quiet or reliable as the 3.8. i would however be interested in a 3.4 s/c? that would be the shit
You may have a point, although mine runs perfectly smooth, I think the smoothness and it being reliable is exaggerated, as I have had a couple things on my car fail or break, including the tranny, but the engine has been problem-free and its comin up on 180,000 miles, but if the 3.8 is smoother, thats fine the 3.4 is a savage beast, not a tame everyday engine ^_^ and I'd like a supercharger too, but the 3.4 is VERY tall, you'd have to get a different hood, or cut something out for it to fit :(
my friend has a 95 cutlass with that 3.4 he blew a head gasket and swapped it out with a 3.8 s/c gtp motor. his best time was a 13.8 but that was when the trans was fucked up. videos will come
Thats just weak, anyone can make the supercharged engine fast, its almost ricey!!! thats why I really don't like the L67, its just a 3.8 supercharged, theres nothing special.....
@BuchananZ34 have you had any transmission problems? i had to replace mine twice, im thinking that since the monte was based on the lumina they put the same lumina trans in the z34, obviously cant handle the power
Yep, I've had to have it rebuilt once around 260000km because it was doing long and hard shifts. The trans in these cars can hold up for a while when it is stock but you start adding mods the tranny will give up very fast.
I've had my monte up to 230kmh / 130mph and that was almost at the 6000 rpm mark in 4th. I think thats all you will get out of a pretty much stock 3800.
if it is the Z34 trim level and is and is 1996 or earler then then it is a 3.4L DOHC V6, 97 or 98 Z34, has a 3.8L OHV V6. all LS trims for a 5th gen montes' have a 3.1L SOHC's, just so that everybody knows for the future. :)
I hate to be picky but it you're not completely correct. Yes, the 3100's were in all 5th gen Monte LS' but the Z34's are a little different then what you said. It was from 95-97 that had the 3.4L DOHC and only the 98-99's had the 3800 in them. Still fun cars to drive.

this is a Z34 Monte, its not the 3.1 or 3.8, its a 3.4 DOHC, which outperforms both engines, but was discontinued, unfortunately :(

That's how it is up in Canada, All the Gauges are in KPH not MPH. Fastest I was doing in this clip was 95 MPH.
