  • it's a melody maker from about 1964/65 - before that, the double cuts were more les paul junior/special-ish, afterward they were like an SG. the narrow, straight-sided headstock gives it away, obviously customised with a humbucker and what i assume is a P90 at neck. controls moved to suit.

same type/shape as joan jett's, now a gibson signature model

  • It could be Melody Maker but the pickup switch has been moved to the front. Hmm. Or It could Gibson LP special (I have one) but than jack on is on the front... It seems that Rick was having fun moving things around. Great guitar from great days.

  • They look and sound especially amazing here. If I could find a bootleg of the whole thing, that would be one great concert!

  • Black Guitar - Rick Parfitt at the beginning 0:19. Anyone knows? Thanks!

  • @pfeiffer2 Gibson sg melody maker double cut with 2 humbuckers

  • @pfeiffer2 It's a custom built Gibson Les Paul Special :)

  • If you don't enjoy this............. Check your pulse....... You're probably dead!

Best band ever! Long live the boys in blue!

  • awesome.

but from wich song is the instrumental part between 4500x and DWMT? ( 0:36 - 0:53 )

  • That still is 4500 times (from back in the day when the played the fantastic full version)

  • @simon1andreas 4500 Times :)

  • @simon1andreas it's forty five hundred times - check out the full version on the "Status Quo Live" album recorded in my home town (Glasgow) in Oct 1976. I was there for 2 of the 3 nights.

  • Top drawer . . just as I want to remember the mighty QUO !!

  • Brill days!!

  • fantastic. wish to have the full show !!!

  • Jeetje en daar was ik bij, geweldig. Eerst een hamburger van Sjaak Swart en dan zo'n concert. Ik ben nog door een stoel gesprongen, haha. I'll never forget it!

  • Jeez. I'd almost forgotten how hard and heavy this band used to be. Not the whimpy pop outfit they became in the 80's and stayed that way. How can anyone ever compare the two. Two very different bands. I know which era I prefer. This is rock the way it should be played, Quo style.

  • Tremendous, if the whole gig had been filmed I think I could safely say it'd be the best Quo show ever released.

  • WOW!

  • THIS IS FUCKING HARD ROCK STATUS QUO :D :D This is great i wich i had the whole consert

  • Brilliant footage. Thanks for posting - is there anymore of it in the world?
