As of right now, no Steve has no new album. In his last interview he talks about music he's been working on. But he doesn't confirm it will be anything more than for his own personal pleasure. I think it is hard for him. I think and he mentions it brings back a lot of bad memories. He replied at one point about do wounds ever heal.
I listen to all of his cds, over and over. It amazes me how many times I've heard these same songs but mI never get tired of them, never tire of that amazing voice, and every song is my favorite....until the next one comes on!!!!!! This is song definitly one of my favorites, watching the sexy gorgeous man sing it......uuuuummm... I'll never tire of that either. I don't know about throat cancer but he did have hip replacement surgery several years ago. That's why Journey got another singer...they couldn't wait for him any longer. Too bad! Love Steve Perry!

No, I'm staying in High School level.. Special needs. I couldn't take teaching regular ed. students anymore... Like our annoying friend, too disrespectful... Kids today are so rude... I love the special needs kids... They are respectful, loving, and want as well as eager to learn... They are the reason I go on and wake up in the morning. It's very refreshing to have students "want" to learn... Todays kids are worried about what I have v what you have and partying... Very sad...
I drove a schoolbus for special needs kids and I loved it. Many years ago but I remember those kids and their parents very well,the sweetest,loving, kids I have ever met. Steve sacrificed so much during his time with Journey ... Neil and his razor laden whip, you know. Touring non stop nearly destroyed Steve and he feels he missed a great deal. Randy, actually played with them later. Only on the Raised on Radio record. He was never actually in the band, but only played with them in the studio and on that particular tour. Steve Perry had briefly fired the original bassist, Ross Valory at that time.

Steve Perry is, and will always be the voice of JOURNEY... I've been a fan since 1978 when I saw them on Wolfman Jack's Midnight Special singing "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'". My 14-year-old son is now a fan of Steve Perry and Journey, and I couldn't be prouder. I will love his music until the day I leave this earth.

If I had a choice, it would be "The Voice". For me, there is only "The Voice" - Steve Perry, the lead singer of Journey. I am grateful for the blessing he had in having such a magnificent voice. It was such a classy voice. He was so well trained musically. It's easy to tell. He was a true artist.

I saw Journey when I was barely 21 , they were opening for Santana at the Waldorf in San Francisco, must a bin' 1979 ...the Waldorf then was in the Embarcadero One, it was a smaller club venue....they were OMG great....been a fan ever since of Steve Perry...HE gives his all and it shows..and can be heard in the live recordings best of all. All you have to do is look at his face and how he holds his hands as he sings. The emotions flow out of him & into us. Absolutely amazing man & even more amazing singer..Hence "The Voice". When Steve Perry sings he draws a audience that he can touch and move just by his voice. So very beautiful. It saddens me that he may never be the lead singer for Journey again but we have years of his talent & he gave that to us. He allowed us to feel what he feels when he sings. What a JOURNEY it's been.
AP is not in the caliber that SP is in. SORRY. First & foremost, no one can replace SP. He is flawless, hence Neal's attempt to cast a singer that mimics the SP sound. He knew the only back to the charts is with SP voice. However what he forgot was that many imitate SP but cannot duplicate the original. AP is a decent singer but in no way is anywhere near the greatness SP is & was. That man could make a statue cry when he sang. AP is trying to fill a void to big for his voice. SP is the VOICE.
I agree with you that Steve Perry could move you to tears. Perry co-wrote and sang in some cases, like this one, could make you cry. It really touches you to the core. Pineda is a good singer. I think there is a problem when people promote him as better out of cultural nationalism.
Is that what Journey needs with its legacy? The choice has helped spawn a music cultural war. I am not comfortable with that.
Cabman, Perry carries a ton of weight with fans and even the bad. They let him put together the Greatest Hits. He said he didn't rule out 100% an appearance with them, but he is careful about not appearing with them after feeling betrayed. Bringing in Arnel Pineda and Augeri the way they did in some ways, tarnished the band in the eyes of some fans. Others are fine with it. This hasn't really added to the legacy. Maybe, Arnel's presence will make people look at Steve more.

Cabman, personally, I don't want to insult Pineda. It's not Perry's style to do that kind of thing nor mine. I will say though the rest of the band fractured the stone with Neal's lead. They chose this. Pineda is a good person, a decent singer, but it's not natural for him to sing Perry's songs non-stop, and the guy will get burned out. If I say that Pineda has no talent, I will sound like those fools who say that Pineda is better than Perry. Pineda is good, but out of his voice range.
This song touches me to the core... It's one of those deep heart-rending break songs where you say despite everything I will always love you.... That's pretty hard to do....Send her my love!!!!!!! I mean this guy totally had this depth that created the songs with the other band members.

Steve Perry from my understanding was never fired... He had problems with his Throat. The lead singer for Cinderella who sings on the same tenure also came down with that...That rashness at a high pitch must hurt and destroy tissue. There is an operation however and the Lead Singer for Cinderella got it.... I heard him he was dead nuts super.. If Steve Perry had that operation. Play with the group you play OH SHERRY with. Show your fans, cut the cord...A friend... It could have been gone.

Steve sacrificed so much during his time with Journey ... Neil and his razor laden whip, you know. Touring non stop nearly destroyed Steve and he feels he missed a great deal. Now Steve's daughter is grown, married and has given Steve two grandchildren that he wants to spend his time with. I credit him, not fault him!

Randy, actually played with them later. Only on the Raised on Radio record. He was never actually in the band, but only played with them in the studio and on that particular tour. Steve Perry had briefly fired the original bassist, Ross Valory at that time.

Steve Perry is, and will always be the voice of JOURNEY... I've been a fan since 1978 when I saw them on Wolfman Jack's Midnight Special singing "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'". My 14-year-old son is now a fan of Steve Perry and Journey, and I couldn't be prouder. I will love his music until the day I leave this earth.

If I had a choice, it would be "The Voice". For me, there is only "The Voice" - Steve Perry, the lead singer of Journey. I am grateful for the blessing he had in having such a magnificent voice. It was such a classy voice. He was so well trained musically. It's easy to tell. He was a true artist.

I saw Journey when I was barely 21 , they were opening for Santana at the Waldorf in San Francisco, must a bin' 1979 ...the Waldorf then was in the Embarcadero One, it was a smaller club venue....they were OMG great....been a fan ever since of Steve Perry...HE gives his all and it shows..and can be heard in the live recordings best of all. Thank You Steve. Stevie Nicks is 60 too, very beautiful and unchanging. Hippe Princess, and Steve Perry the Rock and Roll Prince...

All you have to do is look at his face and how he holds his hands as he sings. The emotions flow out of him & into us. Absolutely amazing man & even more amazing singer..Hence "The Voice". When Steve Perry sings he draws a audience that he can touch and move just by his voice. So very beautiful. It saddens me that he may never be the lead singer for Journey again but we have years of his talent & he gave that to us. He allowed us to feel what he feels when he sings. What a JOURNEY it's been.

AP is not in the caliber that SP is in. SORRY. First & foremost, no one can replace SP. He is flawless, hence Neal's attempt to cast a singer that mimics the SP sound. He knew the only back to the charts is with SP voice. However what he forgot was that many imitate SP but cannot duplicate the original. AP is a decent singer but in no way is anywhere near the greatness SP is & was. That man could make a statue cry when he sang. AP is trying to fill a void to big for his voice. SP is the VOICE.

I agree with you that Steve Perry could move you to tears. Perry co-wrote and sang in some cases, like this one, could make you cry. It really touches you to the core. Pineda is a good singer. I think there is a problem when people promote him as better out of cultural nationalism.
Is that what Journey needs with its legacy? The choice has helped spawn a music cultural war. I am not comfortable with that.

Cabman, Perry carries a ton of weight with fans and even the bad. They let him put together the Greatest Hits. He said he didn't rule out 100% an appearance with them, but he is careful about not appearing with them after feeling betrayed. Bringing in Arnel Pineda and Augeri the way they did in some ways, tarnished the band in the eyes of some fans. Others are fine with it. This hasn't really added to the legacy. Maybe, Arnel's presence will make people look at Steve more.

Cabman, personally, I don't want to insult Pineda. It's not Perry's style to do that kind of thing nor mine. I will say though the rest of the band fractured the stone with Neal's lead. They chose this. Pineda is a good person, a decent singer, but it's not natural for him to sing Perry's songs non-stop, and the guy will get burned out. If I say that Pineda has no talent, I will sound like those fools who say that Pineda is better than Perry. Pineda is good, but out of his voice range.

People weren't singing in his style or singing rock ballads the way he was...... He was a pioneer, that's why he can only be copied, but you can't imitate him.
