  • This performance is amazing, but this song is Reeeeally not appropriate for her age here, hehehe.

  • OMG why do i love it soo much?!? lol

  • she nailed this song

    excellent

  • the age of simplicity. and it works!

  • She nailed this song.... 4 REAL

  • Awesome, This is music performed well..! VERY WELL!

  • The original Kidz Bop.

  • Renee i love you

  • I was in love with her growning up. She was so pretty!! I wanted to go skinny-dipping with her.

  • For some wierd reason she was my fav and I had a huge crush on her when I use to watch it, Fergie I think was second. yeah Before you call me a creep I was like 7 years old! LOL

    martika looks like a man!

  • "At night I lock the doors, where no one else can see

I'm tired of dancing here all by myself

Tonight I wanna dance with someone else"

This is probably the most sexual innuendo filled song I've ever heard a child sing...disturbing

    The 80's were sure something!

  • does any here remember another "groove" song from this show. some ending of the lryics goes something like this -----------(i think)---- groove baby, groove baby, takes wats good for you groove baby, groove baby, takes! wats good for you! groove baby, groove! ------------------------------- plz help
  • I can't believe I used to watch Fergie on this show!!! This was my favorite show from 84-86 then it started airing on a cable channel so I couldn't watch it anymore.

  • Renee was the madonna girl they always gave her modanna songs.

  • This one of Renee's hottest videos!! She practically comes out of the screen in this one!!

  • Haha! I think I actually remember this very episode. I loved this show when I was little!

  • lol, I remember this. brings me back :)

  • what? I remember this show. i had such a crush on rene..I feel so old now

  • this peformance is okay

  • They screwed up on one of the verses. They were supposed to say "Boy, you've got to prove your love to me". Instead they said "Boy, you've got to move here next to me". Why did they say that instead? That was incorrect.

    ~Mr. Make Believe

  • @HoldOnToYourDream they changed the lyrics since they're kids. these are all pre-recorded

  • @HoldOnToYourDream I don't believe they messed the line up, I think they changed it. A lot of songs are adult so I think they might have deemed that line unsuitable? But it wasn't a mess up. If you look at other songs you'll notice changed lines like "Goody Two Shoes" they can't very well say "Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do?"

  • Man i always had thing for her when i was 9, loved those beaver teeth and voice of hers haha!

  • I totally wanted Renee's hair when I was little.

  • i had a crush on renee sands

  • Ha, ha, cute how they censored Madonna's lyrics on this track. Even in the 1980s Madonna had to be censored!

  • @theblazingangel lol i crack up every time at "get into the groove, boy you've got to move, you're next to me" hahahaha

although i actually like "the night's forever if the rhythm's right" rather than "we might be lovers if the rhythm's right"

  • ah, life was sweet before auto-tune.

  • want to try to find someone that is totally un traceable?,try searching for Laura Bridge from the Encyclopedia brown boy detective show on HBO in 86,that chick fell off the face of the earth.

  • Nice! Very talented kids.

  • I gotta agree this is better than Madonna go on Renee!

  • Did they get permission from Madonna and Stephen Bray to change so many of the words?

  • She sounds better than Lady Gaga :0

  • Renee was in Wild Orchid with Fergie right?

  • NO COMMERCIALS ON YOU TUBE

  • Renee's older brother, Michael "Mike" Sandstrom (born 1962), attended Burncoat Senior High School in Worcester, Massachusetts, when Renee was only 2 to 6 years old. Both Renee and Mike were born in Massachusetts and moved to the Los Angeles area just before Renee first auditioned for Kids Incorporated. Mike is now a successful, financial planner at Michael Sandstrom & Associates: (818) 368-7534 Mike would love to be hired by you to plan your estate or to set up a tax-advantaged annuity for you.

  • @rmchavin This is the weirdest YouTube comment I've ever read. It's not quite griefing or flaming, it's not quite spam, but it's definitely weird.

  • Dear russ: Many of Renee's fans very much enjoyed her performances on Kids Incorporated and would very much love to know more about Renee's life, including her career, family life, love life, and plans for the future. Unlike Stacy and Jennifer Love, who have been very generous in providing their fans with plenty of information about their family lives (and even their sex lives), Renee prefers to keep her fans in the dark about her personal life. I'm just trying to be useful to Renee's fans.

  • She deserves her privacy, How many time's have we seen child actors go weird after leaving the spot light. If Renee want's a carer she should have it, but there is no need for her personal details to be out there. IF YOU ARE IN CONTACT WITH HER tell here thanks for the entertainment.

  • Dear Iskylimper: No, I'm not in contact with Renee and I don't plan to ever disturb or visit her. Celebrities generally do not want to flirt with their fans because it tends to lower the quality and quantity of their future performances by draining them of their time and stamina and also by increasing their risk of having a memory lapse during a future performance. I haven't been in California since I was only 8 years old (to experience Disneyland in Orange County). I don't plan to ever return.

  • I am a performer and I never heard of risk of memory lapses from meeting your fans. I don't know where you get that from. Performers like positive feedback from fans. Thats one of the main reasons for getting into performing. Until you have so many fans you can't goto the supermarket with out being waved down. Then you you want privacy. And Renee has been a TV star, a signed act, and toured nationally. So chill out. Maybe you won't visit her but some crazy that read your post might.

  • :40 to :50

  • renee, wow what a voice

  • Wow Renee performing and man she looked AMAZING.

  • Man i'm so freakin jealous.. lol

How could she be so good at singing?!

  • hey they should do Kids Incorporated 2010

  • Isn't it called "Glee"??

  • @jjpanthers i HATE glee, it's nothing like kids incorporated

  • 0h yeah i forg0t it just seemed like they were different shows

  • Less Hanna more Kids Inc.

  • HOly shit!! She sung this so well that you'd think its Madonna if you didn't see the video! WOW!

  • as strange as this is, i'm watching a playlist of this and it seems like the early seasons they were not allowed to say the word love or is it me?

  • no, it's not just you.

But at least they relax a bit and keep the same lyrics later on. "how will I know". fabulous clip :D

Really shows how much they try to protect innocence early on!

  • yeah guess it shows progression. I wonder if it was done again, what would it be like especially if thomas lynch had a hand in it again?

  • One of the many things that I loved about this show is that they only would look at the camera when they would sing. Love it! I had a crush on Renee. Still do. She's beautiful.

  • Oh these were good times.

  • Does anyone else realize that's eric balfour from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre dressed in drag? lol

  • We really needed Pantera to perform, "Fuckin' Hostile" and smash their guitars into the teens on stage and in the crowd.

  • I've started a petition to have every season of this show released on DVD. You can find the url on my channel page, since I can't post it here. Just trying to get the word out!

  • man these kids would take over at karaoke singing hahah

  • i cant beileve how how good they sing

  • They might of well just did the song, Like a Virgin, by madonna.

That would really turn me on.

  • Martika rules!

  • i wonder what happened to all this kids. well, we know what happened to stacey, she became that bitch fergie

  • This girl was in Wild Orchid with Fergie; think "anna nicole smith sings"; or something like that.

  • Rahsaan (the kid) has had a successful carreer as a neo-soul artist. he's awesome. his vocal range is amazing.

  • lol I don't know if Madonna's songs were the most appropriate for this program. They had to change the lyrics to "Dress You Up" so much its almost a different song

  • I think so, its the fourth song of Madonna i see the cover... well now kids know a lot of thing that were tried to be hidden by our parents to us when we were children actually

  • why change the lyrics? song was all over the place for kids to hear.

  • change the word ''dance'' to ''fuck'' and that makes it a hole load better!:^)

  • Awesome!

  • Renee was always good at Madonna songs

  • LOL@Renee

...and if only Fergie was still half as cool! :P

  • I had the biggest crush on Renee when I was a kid....

  • I couldn't decide, myself. Both Renee and Stacy were awesome! :)

  • i am Japanese.

    I like Renee Sands.

    Because,She is very cute!

  • I don't think it's about having sex, I honestly thought it was about dancing with someone to show your feelings.

  • lol i really don't think madonna's songs belonged on this show

  • uhhh...no. it's about dancing.

  • Go class of 93 Rowland Highschool!!!

  • thAT GIRL CAN SING TEN TIMES BETTER THAN MADONNA EVER DID doing that song.

  • and where is she now?

  • look at those clothes!! LOLOL

  • I don't get the lyric editing. "Prove your love to me" isn't allowed but "Live out your fantasies here with me" is?

  • As I posted on Kids Incorporated's "Prove Your Love", they can sing a song called Prove Your Love but not sing the same lyrics in another song??? Lol!

  • My fantasy at that age was to have a really cool BMX bike. That was totally allowed. Proving my love, however, was not. :D However, I agree. The censorship is arbitrary. When I was Renee's age, I would've gotten my ass kicked if I put a lock on my bedroom door so "no one else could see." Heheh.

  • @KatieNKOTB LOL, I didn't get that either I mean the word "fantasies" is more sleazy than a much more neutral and ambiguous phrase "Prove your love to me"

  • the take out "prove your love to me" but kept in "get to know you in a special way"

  • ok sorry, but this rules!

  • i love this song its the best in the 80s go kids in corparted go rnene sands go every body long live being a kid in the 80s and so on

  • Renee is so cute. I remember having a crush on her when i was little.

  • So they don't sanitise 'I see the fire burning in your eyes' and 'live out your fantasies'? Whoever was censoring this was clueless! But Renee does well as usual - she's fab!

  • RENEE THE LEADER

  • If you mean is that Renee singing lead, yes, it is. If you mean was she the lead singer, only occasionally. They all took turns.

  • I had a crush on Renee. She was hot!

  • did these kids really sing these songs or was it some kind of Milli Vanilli trickster business?

  • Yes. It was their real voices. They recorded them in a studio and just like any other tv show or movie with music tracks they lip synched to the song during the taping.

  • is the second one to the left fergie?

  • Did you pick up on 2:22? The lyrics were altered. No "touch my body". These days, kids would be allowed to sing the original line. Interesting...

  • lol I noticed that. And when Kids Inc did "You're the one that I want" When the Olivia Newton John sings the line, "You better shape up, cause I need a man" The kids said SOMEONE instead on MAN. lol

OH and notice in the I LOVE LUCY days? They would have 2 twin beds in the bedrooms because back then, they were very strict about that stuff. Now a days, no one really cares. It IS very interesting how the times have changed..... haha Sorry, that was very random.

  • i like how they won't let her say "prove your love to me", but they let her say "at night i lock the door where no one else can see."

  • The producers used to "sanitize" lyrics to keep it all very kid-friendly.

  • Renee smoked out Madonna with this cover! I like her voice with this song better than Madonna's.

  • wow looking back this was the sh@%t but now it's just funny, due to the cheese factor

  • I used to cringe whenever this show was on(although I did like Martika). I used to turn this off and promptly blast Ozzy and Metallica. Those 80s synthesizers ... UGH!

  • Renee owned this song...hands down...move over Madonna

  • @KidsIncorporated yes it's an awesome cover, i never cared much for madonna's version, but this one made me LOVE the song!

  • actually not that bad of singers, weird

  • LOL Feel the Music, Light up the sky, im 27 and this show was a big part of the 80s to me!

  • 80's synth pop....just GREAT!

  • I'm diggin that metalic orange blazer.

  • i miss being a kid watching this it brings such good times long live the 80s

  • Back when kids were allowed to be kids...

  • i just love this song this show is so cool and i love show

  • LOL! I love that the lyrics were changed to be more "child friendly" lol. I love how now child-friendly is not using the words fuck, or shit. Ah.

  • not bad !

  • this is crazy- but i miss this show, makes me feel old too hehe

  • man this makes me fill very old lol

  • LOL nice cover Renee.

Shame she looks like a librarian.

  • omg!! i love this song and the show. I mean it's so old but i so love it. and im only im 14

  • Their best song! kewl!!!

  • Renee and stacy (fergie) also was in the group wild orchid together

  • they all were good! esp the drummer! hes my fave! with those dimples! Super Hot! even back then!

  • o you mean Mario Lopez. check out the You Spin Me by Kids. choose 1 on in the related vids to the side

  • yup I mean Mario... So cute now so hot! I seen all of them now. I remember when he was on saved by the bell I got in an argument with a friend that he was he back up dancer on Kids inc... well I won... hahaha

  • well ur right. he's in the You Spin Me song and also Saved By The Bell is the best Sitcom ever!!

  • It has to be said, everyone is always saying how great Martika and STACY were. I have to say Renee was probably my favorite girl. Ryan was my fave overall.

  • gosh i miss this show. oh the memories. wish the show was on dvd. well at least the first couple seasons with martika and ryan.

  • Thats just wouldn't work today...I can just imagine it, what a debauchery today's version would be lol

  • what would fergie think if someone told what kind of songs she'd be singing in 2007?

  • these 5 kis were the best on this show.

  • how did i get minus 2? i love this stuff.

  • What happened to their version of Denise Lopez's Saying Sorry Don't Make It Right?

  • fuck u stephencraig444! i'm a teen and i wish i had a show to watch Saturday afternoon like this with kids my age singing songs i know with these fantastic performances.

  • I hear ya.

  • I only watched KI this one season, then moved on to other things. I remember it came on Saturdays around noonish. I was 13 and had a mini-crush on Renee then. I thought she sang best out of all of them. Hard to believe that was over 20 years ago!

  • yeah she grew up to be pretty hott

  • don't watch it go away

  • renee is awesone you suck

  • well, good choice of color.. hehehehe

  • sweet...Martika and Fergie

  • her name is STACY!!!

  • Her name is what she wants it to be. It's called freedom. She now goes by Fergie. No matter what name she is called she is still the same person.

  • STACY STACY STACY!!! that is her real name NOW she has plastic surgery and calls her self this silly nickname

  • Her last name is Fergeuson so its not completely silly.

  • They censored some of the lyrics, which aren't that suggestive in the first place, but they left "wanna get to know you in a special way." Heh.

  • my bad.. did you do their choreography?

  • i certainly did - I also picked out their outfits

  • What a bunch of dorks~~~ nice dance moves.. hehehehehe

  • a you could do better?

  • renee really should have been a star!!

  • This was a good song to cover. I was only 2 when KIDS first appeared on TV, but I do remember watching KIDS on TV. I was 12 when the show ended, but it was fun, and still is fun today.

  • Renee was my fave and as good as this is I think her best was "breakaway"

  • its all about Renee SANDS!!! CUTE!!! strong voice too

  • i agree she is great

  • aww fergie is sooo cute

  • Those were the days....

  • i still can't believe stacy is the same girl of the black eyed peas !

  • Renee Has an awesome voice as well

  • They used to change the words around in the songs to make it more "kid friendly." That used to make me so mad too cause I would be rockin out thinking I was Martika and she would mess me up with the word change. My whole hairbrush performance would be ruined. LOL

  • we might be lovers if the rhythm's right/

the night's forever if the rhythm's right?

  • gosh i miss these days so much

the shows on tv for kids nowadays SUCK and don't even compare to this

  • Oh Martika, I was so infatuated with her. And sometimes Stacy if her hair wasn't too dorky.

  • Very 13 going on 30.....the days of Poofy bangs Z:-)

  • sad thing is this is just as good as Madonna's version, the vocal is much better!

  • I used to watch this show all the time when I was a kid!

  • It's interesting to see that a cameraman (striped shirt/hat) is visible parts of the video. He's visible between 1:12 and 1:19 (running from the front of the stage to the right side of the stage.

Normally directors are very careful in making sure that none of the studio personnel or their equipment are visible.
