Gorgeous guitar, though I admit I would prefer chrome/nickel with the white instead of the gold. I am not a fan of gold hardware... I know the Silver Falcon has chrome, but that comes in black... I would like an amalgamation of the white falcon and the silver falcon.

@legnaleama LOL that's absolute bollocks. A guitar is a box with six strings. It's meant to be played however anyone sees fit. You think Leo Fender ever imagined the Strat would be used to do what Hendrix did on it??? The White Falcon is incredibly versatile. It's been used by Brian Setzer, George Harrison, The Edge, Malcolm Young of AC/DC, John Frusciante, and countless others for everything from Rockabilly to Jazz to Blues, Country, Funk, Hard Rock, and more. Open your ears and mind.

@legnaleama Of course it is, What Kind of company would make a guitar that wasn't able to stand up to regular playing? This guitar is one of those ones that seems almost too beautiful to play but its sound says otherwise. Its meant for belting out awesome riffs and smooth and chunky solos.

@vellajamesmeister the $12,000 version is the collectors edition. The stock version is around $4,000. If that's still too far out of your price range, Check out the Ibanez af75TDG. It's Modeled after the falcon, but by Ibanez. The only draw-back is the floating bridge system. A bit of a pain to deal with until you get used to it. I believe that it's worth it though.

Can anybody explain me why Gretsch has the worst colors for guitars ever seen ?

I will only buy a gretsch if it's white, black or red, any other coolor from gretsch really suck.

See: Gretsch orenge? Gretsch sparkle green !!, Gretsch Bamboo yellow (yes, it exists, sucks, but exists)

@MrV1C7OR Gretsch introduced them to compete with Gibson back in the '50s. They couldn't compete in terms of quality (their build quality was nowhere near as good) so they went for the zany color option. It worked and ultimately this has become part of the Gretsch character. Most Gretschheads would probably complain if they tried to eliminate them.

Actually, today's colors are quite conservative. Check out the Peppermint Twist to see what I mean.
