  • These so called "expert doctors" need to learn about "Social Programming" to which everyone is subjected to everyday (Subconsciously), and also learn about how "Social Programming" affects the "Reptilian Brain" or R-Complex. This bahaviour is typical of individuals being forced into their lower survival instincts because of various fears on a subconscious level. Re-programming the subconscious mind (hypnosis), can help very much in these cases.

  • I'm counting patterns on the wall, I think it is up to seven or 10. I do not get anxious, I do know what I'm doing, I'm just doing it from time to time, it kinda relaxes me in a way. What's that?

  • I was diagnosed with OCD when I was twelve years old, i got rid of it and now in later years (currently 18) it got back, and its really bad. I've been so ashamed for my thoughts that I haven't been able to find strength to get help and get rid of them, but now I'm ready and I'm so sick waking up every morning with the same feeling and hoping everything will get better or I'm in the next step to going insane. GET HELP AND DONT LET OCD CONTROL YOUR LIFE, TIME TO GET RID OF MY OCD FOREVER!

Then I have to make sure things in my room are in a particular spot. If anything is slightly askew, then I will obsess and keep adjusting it until I feel like it is in the right place.

  • I don't know if I have OCD. My nails look so horrible. I bite them even on the skin (I know it's gross). I became self-conscious because other people in my school have perfect nails and can get manicures. So I don't know why but I started swallowing ALOT so it looks like I'm nervous. Then again I bite my nails but I only resumed to do it at home. Then afterwards, I have this one piece of clothing with garter on it and I can't go through the day without touching it for more than a minute.......

  • @therealFSRZ1397

If you feel the need to touch this piece of clothing with the garter or something bad will happen, it's probably a good indicator of OCD. It doesn't have to be restricted to this, it can be other things you need to do to ease your anxiety.

  • I have OCD

  • I am a very young girl, and I have OCD. Here are some of the symptoms that I have that they mentioned in the video.

    OBSESSIVE THOUGHTS:

    *Fear of causing harm

*Sexual/religious/violent thoughts (To be exact, violent thoughts)

    OBSESSIVE BEHAVIORS:

    *Extreme Cleaning

    *Ordering/Arranging

AND THIS IS THE ONE THAT I HAVE MOST PROBLEMS WITH:

    *Mental rituals

I would like to know if there's a way to stop OCD and if so, how?

  • @SuperLyricMonster100 Yes you can stop it, but it's a process, and the answer on how is found in videos at theocdproject [dot] com

  • @kickthefaucet The OCD Project is using an older form of OCD treatment called Exposure and Response Prevention which, frankly, can treat the sufferer cruelly. Dr. Jeffery Schwartz at UCLA has developed a much more civilized and more effective OCD treatment available free and online (Google: Dr. Jeffery Schwartz 4 steps). The treatment is intended to be self-applied, i.e. you are your own therapist.

  • @kickthefaucet I'm sorry but you cannot stop OCD, you can live with it, sometimes to a point where you don't notice it because you have spent years training yourself to avoid obsessions and/or compulsions. I have been battling OCD for 7 years since I acknowledged it (as well a severely crippling anxiety disorder that roots out to depression) and have I never and unfortunately will never get rid of it completely or even partially. It saddens me to say it, but it is true.

  • @CoksAZ Please view the first 12 minutes of the YouTube video "Changing your Mind" and read Dr. Norman Doidge's book "The Brain that Changes itself" and Dr. Jeffery Schwartz's book "Brain Lock" They describe a highly effective treatment that specifically trains you NOT to avoid your obsessions and compulsions. You are absolutely right when you write that cannot stop OCD when you continue training yourself to avoid obsessions and compulsions -- doing so only reenforces the OCD.

  • @thirdfoxbat Good point, my mistake I probably used the wrong word (english isn't my main language), although I believe were on the same page. :)

  • @SuperLyricMonster100 ye my therapist told me i have it too.... im getitn pilsl called Fluoxetine in like 2 days and i have ALOT of those seuxal thots... good or bad...dont matteer its all sex.... :(

  • @SuperLyricMonster100 The best thing is to see a therapist and they can help you work through it :)

  • @SuperLyricMonster100 I suggest CBT, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy..

It's hard as hell, but it works. I'm currently in CBT.. With a severe case of OCD.. Good luck mate

  • @SuperLyricMonster100 Talk to a Dr. about Anafranil.

  • if you have ocd, don't you have to live with it? like it probably gets better in a way that you deal with the stereotypes such as being a neat freak, weirdo or loner.. something along that. probably cognitive-behavioral therapy could be one of the best help?

  • so is ocd good or bad cuz im always cleaning my house and i dont want anybody messing up my bed and all that stuff

  • @applefanboy209 That isn't really OCD, that's just your personality. OCD is more of a disorder where you have to keep repeating the same things over and over again. And yes, OCD is not a very great thing to have.

  • i think i had slight ocd when i was little. I had to count the edges of everything

  • i guess im unique i have ocd, i f*ckin hate it

  • @JarHarJar I've noticed that people with OCD (at least myself) are overly aware of things around us, I guess in certain ways that's a good thing... "Beneath all evil, there is good" or vice-versa :p

  • i have ocd

  • OMG.. i have OCD

  • I've had it for at least 12 years... it's awful. It can get really, really, really bad. It can make you feel alone, depressed and useless. I take pills and they work pretty well. So now I'm feeling better. But I have to admit, sometimes you just really want to... well, you know what.

  • i have a cousin that is scared of dirt and germs and he is always blowing his nose every 10 minutes non stop and its starting to get annoying i tell him to stop but he tells me he does that to get all the dirt out of him i thing he has OCD can someone held please
