  • @trevvdogg333 He actually got his PhD at Cornell. He teaches at UCLA.

  • This was when Warped Tour was cool.

  • thx greg graffin for your fabulous music :) i will never forget :)

  • I couldn't disagree more about Greg's voice. He's always been a favorite vocalist for me. His voice is smokey and ominous, PERFECT for their music.

Singers don't always have to wail when they sing.

  • @HardyHarz. In what year should we judge Greg's voice? In the 2011, or early in his career? His voice was better on albums, such as, "Suffer" and "No Control". But, our voices change as we age. Bowie can't sing "Life on Mars" like he use too. Oh well.

  • it's punk rock man!!who cares bout the voice?the important is the message!!

  • I think Greg's voice is fine. And he makes up for it in vocabulary.

  • The voice thing, is that generally, people are used to auto tuning these days. The singer can sing with any BS flair he wants- and auto tuning will fix all their problems. Greg comes from the era where people actually had to sing. Also- the genius comes from the subtleties in the melodies- not some gimmicky scream or trick.

  • 1:11 the best moment ever! :D

  • Anyone who fucking complains about a punk rock singers voice obviously doesn't know what the fuck PUNK ROCK is to begin with.

  • It's easy to see how much fun Greg GRAFFIN, not Gaffin has fun with this song; just look at his face one minute into this performance haahah the guy almost starts cracking up in laughter! That all by itself is punk rock. That he really enjoys it and doesn't perceive it solely as work is a real testament to their (hopefully unstoppable) longevity. Impossible to fake Epic punk rock and what you're seeing here is Living History, people! So killing it still, after all these years; unreal.

  • bad religion owns . Gaffin is a great punk rock singer. Better than all others

  • greg is my hero......

  • I'd never heard of Rise Against before, went and watched them. Didn't like the singer's voice. Thought Greg's was better... Bring on the hate.

  • @CarpetNipples I LOVE Rise Against, but I also LOVE Bad Religion, and I don't hate you because that would be fucking stupid to hate someone, because of their outlook on someones singing voice.

  • @MrBatManIsAPunk Heh, I almost forgot some people are decent human beings and use their brains. Hopefully others follow suit. Thank you, sir, for being a decent person and not persecuting me for having a different opinion.

  • I've seen them live more than once. Greg kicks ass and is a very entertaining frontman.

Man just listening to it makes me want to jump and pump my fist in the air.

  • Greg is smarter than all of his fans, but still loves them all. I've seen them many times and every show is grade A, from 1987-2011 and beyond for me. Greatest punk band ever!

  • if you hate bad religion, so i hate you fucker...and give a favor shut up and go fuck youeself..

  • tim's voice sucks live

  • @shuak35

I saw RA last year and his voice was perfect

  • greg voice is better than tim voices...

    greg voice is awsome...

he has the best voice in punk.

  • I've always been a fan of Greg Graffin's crazy stage moves, but watch from 2:20

Probably the best thing I've ever seen.

  • Man Greg's voice is fucking spot on.

Even if people like the whiny new pop-punk singing voice (we the kings and the like), they gotta admit, those singers couldn't be this spot on live.

    Autotune = their crutch.

    Love this song.

  • Greg has an amazing voice, theres something very melodic about it.

My friend thinks it's very monotone. Different opinions i guess

  • dr. greg graffin.

  • greg for president

  • they are the best band to grace this earth.

  • Comment removed

  • @Chubigans Greg´s voice is sexy.... just kidding... Bad Religion is amazing

  • Hell yeah!

    BR fuckin rocks!

  • Greg looks like my physics teacher

  • @63jdog dont be silly Dr. Gaffin teaches science

  • @63jdog He is a professor at Cornell University

  • Greg looks exactly like my english teacher :D awesome.

  • @horstmeisinger grteg would even manage english lessons

  • How could anyone not like Bad Religion?

  • wheres the third guitarist???

  • @AmbitiousMOnkey1100 Mr. Gurewitz only plays when Bad Religion are doing shows in California.

  • This is my favourit band.

  • amazingg ;D

  • i thought he said coming back for porn

  • I'd say Greg's voice beats Tim's hands down. The only vocalist to almost be as good would be the singer from The Bouncing Souls.

  • @Girrez Bad Religions touring with The Bouncing souls right now right?

  • Btw everyone I obviously love Greg Graffin and his voice. It's just a pity that they've been my favorite band since I was a child and literally no one I talk to, even purported "punk" fans, really gives BR a chance.

  • @Chubigans I only have like 6 friends who like BR, two got into them under my ifluance.

  • Anyone who doesnt like bad religion can line up to take turns sucking my balls.

  • haha! Theyre such old men. Get off the stage

  • @JtheBee123 Really? You pay that much attention to the age of the band members? The music doesn't matter?

  • @Xproletariatx I just dont think their music is good anymore. I like their 80s stuff a lot more.

  • Brooks Wackerman is a fucking beast. That's all I have to say about this.

  • Id take these guys up against any thing over the past few decades that even dares label themselves punk!!

  • bad religion kick asses

  • best band ever

  • Chubigans, Coopersville STFU idiots, You have no idea what you're on about.

  • Their vocalist is Bill Paxton

  • @Coopersville HAHAHAHAHA LMAO Bill Paxton

  • So fucking good...

  • Lol nice rockstar hairstyle on lead singer ;D

  • brooks rules. one of the tightest punk drummers ever

  • We need to think hard to know the truth

  • greg graffin's my god :).

    greg graffin 2012!

  • Everybody I know hates bad religion, thinks greg graffin has a horrible boring voice.

I think they're all just shallow kidiots.

  • Comment removed

  • I can't imagine any other voice backing these songs. All the bands that cover BR songs give me chills because the vocals just don't match the demeanor of the lyrics.

It's like Greg has a professor's (which he is) voice that matches the content of the lyrics. It's a perfect fit. I grew up listening to this guy!

  • @Chubigans

His voice is amazing, it's what got me into BR.

  • @Chubigans HA! Kidiots

  • @Chubigans Although Greg doesn't have a spectacular voice (like Tim from Rise Against), he still has a good voice. Anyone who hates Bad Religion either doesn't appreciate their intelligence, or is too stupid to agree with what they say.

  • @bowling4soup35 Dude Greg has one of the best voices of all time i think ,and I don't like Tim's at all just goes to show its all opinion :P

  • @bowling4soup35

Tim from rancid has a good punk voice.

  • @Mattm1986 if you think down syndrome is a good sound

  • @bowling4soup35 gregs voice is perfect

  • @bowling4soup35 I love Gregs voice, but Tim has the greatest voice in modern music.

  • @bowling4soup35 LOL are you fucking serious ? you think the Rise Against singer has a better voice than Graffin ? I hate to break it to you but Graffin has a better voice both in studio and live , Rise Against they sound good in studio but live the singer sucks .

  • @badreligion1231 Just my personal opinion.

  • @badreligion1231 In my own opinion, you won't find the best singer of "modern music" in a punk rock band. Just saying.

  • @bowling4soup35 This so true. Actually, listening to Bad Religion and studying their lyrics helped me improving my English skills.

  • @bowling4soup35 Tim's voice doesn't carry over to the live setting. He cannot deliver in concert, and Greg always will.

  • @bowling4soup35 well, not to call u stupid, but it seems like ur missing the point to, its not about blindly agreeing, its about questioning, its about thinking for urself, Greg doesn't want a blind army of unconditional followers, he wants individuals who think about things for themselves an question everything they come across, including him, he is not right about everything, so y should you just agree with him, i know he is incredibly intelligent, but he is not some sort of all knowing deity

  • @bowling4soup35 more or less what I am trying to say is everyone is allowed their own oppinion, u can love the band, someone else can hate it, why are you complaining about it and calling them stupid? They may be ignorant of the true meaning of the music, but in a way it seems you are too, like you are a person just listening because you like the noise and energy and you like to look cool by listening to them, and there really isnt anything wrong with that, just saying, stop being so judgemental

  • @largehoman It's the internet, not everything is serious. :)

  • @bowling4soup35 they have their own styles. its an acquired taste not good or bad

  • @bowling4soup35 My voice feels strained listening to Greg. But then again, I'm no singer.

  • @bowling4soup35 I personally havn't heard a voice like Greg's, to be honest.

I love how he's, what, 46, and yet in addition to having a PhD, being a college professor and an author, he's a kickass punk-rock vocalist.

Damn, i'd love to have a teacher like him :P

  • @Chubigans they are crazy, he has an awesome voice. I love kidiots btw lol, im not sure if that was a typo or not but i like it

  • @Chubigans lol bad religion is just old, in the chronological way ofcourse! ^^ that makes many people think they suck! i dont know many people either who listen minor threat and black flag, while they are kind of the best in their genre ^^

  • @Chubigans Because You dont understand.

  • @Maxush What's there to understand, you pretentious asshole?

  • Summing up Your previous comments and this one .. explaining it to You would be a waste of my time.

  • @Chubigans one of my favorite bands/singers of all time

  • @Chubigans i appreciate yur opinion but in my opinon everyone yu know should eat a big lunch go swim in the ocean cramp up drown and get eaten by sharks

  • @calipachanguero Once again I think my comment was misread, Bad Religion is my favorite band.

  • @Chubigans srry dude lol hahaha eating before a swim is bad...

  • @Chubigans you are a f'n idiot if you think they suck! They are the best punk band of all time! Go F yourself!

  • @sf409ers Dude I love bad religion you read the comment wrong.. I said everyone I know thinks BR sucks, BR is my favorite band!

  • @Chubigans you need new friends man. Greg has one of if not THE best voices for punk

  • @Chubigans all your friends are little gay boys

  • @Chubigans omg I have never seen the word kidiots. I'm going to steal it

  • everyone u know must be dumb as shit

  • @Chubigans I love his voice

  • @Chubigans Greg has an awesome fucking voice.

  • @Chubigans:

    Idiot kids = Kidiots.

    Awesome. xD

  • @Chubigans Yer friends are absolutely wrong if they think that Graffin has a horrible/boring singing voice. I'd argue that live he's a bit to stiff and could add a little more energy himself as a performer, but as far as a singer, he is probably the most talented and versatile singer in all of punk rock.

  • one of the coolest songs of bad religion

  • @nicojb7 I agree

  • wackerman has the greatest drum set up ever

I can wish to drum like him :(

  • "I'll believe in God when 1 and 1 are 5"

  • and the lord spake...........

  • fuck jesus and all the christians so lazy ppl 4 me

  • I'm no fan of religion, but to say something that straight up arrogant is just dumbfounding and ignorant.

  • @alpharay77 greg graffin ignorant lol

  • @jerryseinfeldisfunny haha isn't he like a professor or sumthing?

  • @metalguitarist94 yeah he's a double major from cornell university, and he currently lectures at UCLA

  • @metalguitarist94 yep thas correct

  • BR is great. Greg's such an inspiration.

  • Brooks Wackerman plays a very fast Punk Rock Beat.

    :P

  • @Pulvertoastman250

Not bragging, but I'm proud to say I can play that fast.

    And it isn't easy.

So, yes. Many props to him for playing a set with all that.

  • Buddy, that's nothing special. At all.

  • @Ericuda

Oh, I mean his very fast songs.

As in Casualties, or NOFX fast.

If you want an actually example, go check out my band or something, that way you at least know what I play before you insult it.

  • I'm sure you're fine, I'm just saying that being able to play rapid punk beats isn't really hard once you've got it down. It's not hard, it just takes work. Not particularly hard work.

  • @Ericuda

    Actually, true.

    I can agree with that.

  • Why don't you guys just quit being fucking stupid and appreciate music instead of marking it? :)

  • I wonder why people don't really notice that a lot of older metal and punk have similar roots. If you look at songs like Ride The Lightning and Fight Fire With Fire by Metallica you get punk lyrics on metal notes. Now, can we find something serious to argue about, or we can whine about arbitrarily labeling music.

  • Its Melodic Hardcore, not heavy metal.

  • @feisty1000 Yeah, I said that 3 days ago, read below = )

  • bad religion isn't heavy metal...

  • @laughingskull931 Yeah, I know BR and heavy metal well enough to know they're a melodic harcore band: that why I used the word "does" instead of "is".

But come on, have you heard the song? This is not punk rock/hardcore, this one is pure heavy metal. This one song only. That's what I meant. I like it very much.

  • whatever you say. but none of those two songs are even close to being categorized as heavy metal. just puttin it out there.

  • I was speaking about Sinister Rouge. I agree it isn't heavy metal per se, but it seems to me it's BR take on heavy metal. It begins with melodic singing, then metalesque drum roll at 1:11 followed by double kick drums and repetitive fast guitar picking, heavir riff than BR's usal at 1:21. 25s of normal BR then back to the heavy stuff at 1:47 , the list goes on...

It isn't heavy metal nor your usual BR, it falls in between, and that's why I like it so much

  • thats good for you.

  • You're right. Everyone else on here is just stupid & looking for a reason to fight, in pure human nature.

  • Don't worry, I can hear what you're talking about, tukkek. Especially in the recorded version. It does have some metal elements to it, though it's definitely more of a punk song.

People on here are just being dumb. :0

  • @br00t4lpowermetalomg Yeah, it's BR for sure, above it all... Thanks for the support, I wonder why an inocuous comment like this brings so much hate! I guess "it's the way of the modern world", if you'd quote BR's Greg.

  • bad religion does not heavy metal.... you moron.....

  • I second that

  • Idk why, but for some reason when he sings "coming back for more to even the score" I think of power rangers O.O

  • Anybody who hasn't seen the DVD of them Live at the Palladium needs to check that out. They intro with this song and absolutely shred it. Plus that DVD has the best live backup vocals I've ever heard BR do.

  • Yeah, thanks to a shitload of editing by Brett. Pay close attention especially during All There Is and you'll see why the backing vocals sound so good.

  • Best. Intro. Ever.

  • does anyone else think that greg hetson has the coolest play style ever?

  • Yeah, with the skipping and everything, too, it's just mystical.

  • rouge means red in french u guys, am i seeing them tonight for the first time :) im so excited !

  • i saw them at warped tour 2009 they were awesome! but i was crushed in a mosh pit and got a huge cut on my arm :(

  • I fell in an Anti-Flag circle pit. I feel your pain. and I'm only 4'10."

  • Oh the poor children... ever gone in a the pit during a Casualities concert (when they were still good)? Nobody walked out of their without seriously hitting at least one part of their body.

  • Double bass? That's not a psychobilly band but a punk band.

  • Maybe he means the parts of the song where Brooks actually does double bass. You can hear it on the album version. I'm sure he's doing it live you just can't hear it.

  • theres double bass in the cd version....

  • 1:11 is when the awesomeness starts

  • great track! Vessszen trianon!

  • -.- szánalmas vagy

  • hess-hess

  • ggg

  • thank you so much for uploading this, I was there and this brought it all back

  • why can't i have as much song ideas and the brainstorms as greg? :)

    would be awesome!

  • i would also definitely cry the day they break up

  • I feel the same. I been a huge fan of this band since 1994, and even got the logo tattooed as I love this band so much. The day they call it quits, will be a sad day for all in the world of Punk!

  • Nope. Rogue is a different word, and pronounced "row-guh".

  • they mean rouge which is French for red.

  • Rouge is also a type of makeup used by the elite high class in the renaissance (men and women) as well as by the samurai and high class of Japan. A metaphoric cover up if you will.

  • you're sure?

rouge also stands for a rowdy, if you are bad etc.

in connection with sinister i think it's rather "my" rouge that yours.

but i'm not sure, so please correct me if i'm wrong!

  • Rouge is a dark red, commonly associated with the robes of the Cardinals of the Catholic Church.

    Plus, listen to the lyrics;

"child molesters and jesuits, holding secret conference, underneath the pontiff's nose, and only god will ever know."

  • thanks!

  • it probably means a sinister church cover up like how fucked up the church or some religions are

  • One of the most powerful intros to any song, ever.

  • one of my fav songs, such intense beats and riffs

  • greig graffin has done something else. check out his solo stuff on his myspace. its good folk music.

  • Todays punk sucks compared to this shit.

  • he does he's a teacher

  • haha yeah only at UCLA.. XD hah but I will probably cry the day they break up. Hope they never do

  • I`m sure they come back as zombies after their deaths. But I think the sound will be different after that. hahaha
