  • 9400 you having me on bit much

  • @ejcox1000 - Nope, that's what it sold for.

  • "...a NORMAL LHD car..." you saying our cars in the UK are ABNORMAL? Lol xD

  • @MrClassicDoctorWho - Have you ever worked on a Hydrolastic suspension? Thaaaat's pretty abnormal. :D Then there's the Reliant Robin, the Morgan 3-wheeler....I could go on. I love British cars!

  • I love it.

One of the cars im going to own someday!

  • Funny... its like Americans never saw a mini, I had about 2 in my life time and here are not even considered any more as an every day car as they are more then 40 years old.

But let me tell you; you have a very nice vintage mini plus it is a sliding window model, in a pretty good shape, take care of it...

  • @1452364789 - The vast majority of Americans never -have- seen a Mini.

Thank you, it was a very fun car to own. This video was successful and it was sold 3 years ago.

  • is this a good car for a first car??

  • @ExTiLive - I think so. Easy to work on, easy to drive, lets the driver really learn how to control a car without a bunch of electronic nannies separating them from the driving experience. Plus they're wicked fun.

  • Nice car, petrol over here is £1.30 a LITRE now, thats $8.85 a gallon!!

  • Nigel????? HA! What a stupid name for a car. It looks more like a Derek to me.

  • @whitbyjet65 - Derek?! Are you having a laugh? Maybe if it had big stupid mirrors stuck way out front on the wings...nah, definitely a Nigel.

  • @PatrolmanDark Have you checked underneath? Maybe it's Brenda. Cool car, all the same.

  • Very Nice Car

  • Those old Mini's are so cool. I would love to have one. This one is in good condition too. I always loved how simple they were. They had everything you needed, nothing you didn't. The great gas mileage, spacious interior, and good looks were all bonuses.

  • mk3 cooper s is what u want, they go for about 30k

  • @C00PER10 - Nah, it was a Mk2 Cooper I wanted.

  • @PatrolmanDark how much are they ? because I really want one !

  • @FlowerPowerGaming - Well, they're all at least 11 years old, so the price varies wildly. Bad ones can be found for a thousand dollars, great ones for 30,000. This one sold for 9400. I'd tried searching on Google for Minis for sale. You'll want to specify Austin, Morris, BMC, British Leyland, or any of the other maker names so you're not flooded with ads for the new, not-related BMW Mini Cooper currently for sale.

  • ok mate I looked up the specs, and yours is an austin cooper. I thought it was a mini cooper mk 2, cheers mate

  • @antimong - It was a Morris Mini Cooper Mk 2.

  • did ya sell it?

  • mmmmmm cooper no discs or extra tank?????

  • @antimong - Yes, a genuine Cooper. Those items would only be found on the Cooper S model.

  • How much did you pay to bring it over?

  • I bought it from the fella that brought it over.

  • @PatrolmanDark Do you know how much he paid to have it brought over?

  • @atruerushfan I'm sorry, I don't. This was also about 10 years ago that he brought it over, too.

  • @PatrolmanDark Alright. Thanks so much!

  • @PatrolmanDark oooh. Okay, thanks!

  • Beautiful! I should've bought one of the last ones manufactured. I think that was back in 1991 or so.

  • Correction: Last Mini mfd'd 2000

  • cool vid, but the fuel over there has such a low octane.... 87 89 93 RON, here is oz its 91 95 98

  • Sure, but that little engine never complained. Excellent engineering.

  • agreed

  • I live in america and i know for a fact theres a huge market thats why it pisses me off that they dont have cars like this here. Women(dont haul boats/go off roading), College kids, millions of people who live in big cities, most big familys have duel incomes so they have two cars anyways. Why coulded one be a mini, just for commuting to work. i love small cars I have a toyota yaris and I moved my whole apartment with it (including the beds)

  • I love small cars, too. But they are available here, and people only buy a limited number of them. Most Americans want a giant SUV.

  • why isnt every car in america this size

  • Because most Americans won't buy them. - Because of all of the off-roading they do, while pulling a boat, fitting 7 people, and hauling a quarter-ton of materials - which they do every day.

  • Sweet!!!! I love your mini :)

Oh wait...what do you mean by smell? ;)

  • Thanks for the memories, I rode in a MINI in London in 1970, I was amazed at how spacious the interior was after seeing them only from the exterior. Great innovative design. The new Mini is cool also and alot safer and more refined. Both great cars for their times.

  • great vid

  • i want one so bad

  • TOO FUN! Thanks for sharing that... :~D

  • Great video. Had 2 Mini's as a teen but had to give up driving due to health. Brought back good memories.

  • Very happy to help, sir! There's nothing like driving a Mini, the sound, the smell, the shifting of the Mini gears....

  • Someone actually own's the real mr bean mini who ever he is he very lucky to have that car i wish i owend it.

  • that is a very smart car that and i see lots of them each day as i work at a mini garage and thaats the best ive seen in that condition

  • Wow! That's high praise indeed, I thank you, sir!

  • Thats a beautiful car,i can't wait to finnish mine and get on the road in it.These cars turn heads over here in the UK,so i guess you get alot of attention in Texas.

  • im proud to be British

  • is it still 4 sale?

  • Nope, sold 4 months ago.

  • i guess, u kept it in such good condition, im jealous of the person who bought it

  • Hehe, nice vid, a bit unusual to drive such a thing in a country where cars are generally way larger than here in Europe, not to mention the fuel consumption being much higher. But damn, I think all people are jealous about the gas prices over there... Still, nice to see such cars on the other side of the great lake. I think I managed to squeeze almost 70mpg out of our Audi driving behind the trucks on the freeway, normally its around 40-50mpg, diesel of course :-)

  • brilliant video, best i have ever seen, i will hopefully be getting a mini when i am old enough. are the newer minis still spacious?

  • Thanks very much! From what I've read, the BMW Minis do not have as much interior room as the classic Minis. But they do have airbags, fancy stereos, air conditioning, etc, and a modern BMW engine. And they're MUCH bigger on the outside. They're a really good modern car.

  • i suppose, i am thinking of sticking to a classic mini, i personally think they are better looking and have more of a mini feeling to them.

  • I agree. But if I had to commute 80 miles every day in the hot Texas sun, and could only have 1 car, it'd be the modern one. It's the difference between a car designed 51 years ago and a modern car. But for pleasure, it'd be the classic Mini every time. I like to think of the BMW MINI as a Mini-inspired car.

  • very good point actually, but i live in scotland, its freezing, mostly rainy and a commute of 10 miles maximum average. but i like the way you think of it.

  • Sounds like a classic Mini would definitely be the right car for you then. Lucky you, to live in Scotland!

  • yeah probably, anyway thanks you have been a great help! I'm sorry you had to sell yours, it must have been so hard

  • Yep, it made me sad, and it's something I'll always regret, but I had an 80 mile daily commute, 5 other cars and 8 motorcycles. Nigel wasn't getting enough miles, which is not healthy for any vehicle, so it was really best to sell him on. Now sees daily commuting of about 20 miles. :) Be well!

  • Im lookin for tht make of car

  • It's a great make, but virtually identical to all the other names that appeared on the car, Austin, BMC, British Leyland, Innocenti, etc. They're available all over the USA, if that's where you are.

  • Damn, I live in England. Im after a mr bean type mini (Mini Cooper British Leyland IV, i think)

  • And Nigel is SOLD to a lovely young lady.

  • Good show mate! It is a loss I am sure, but now you have a (little) much needed extra space in your garage.

  • It should also be mentioned that this is the official Mini of the Main Force Patrol. The lucky buyer will receive a ride in the Last of the V8 Interceptors, as seen in Mad Max and The Road Warrior, if they are interested.

  • Nice car, great video presentation.

  • How come the driving wheel is on the right ? :)

  • Because this car is here directly from England, where the steering wheel is on the right, and you drive on the left. It's no big deal here in the USA, it takes about 15 minutes to adjust to being on the right.

  • why do you sell it :(

  • Because I could use the space, and most of all because I don't get to drive this Mini as often as I used to, due to where I moved. I won't let a car sit and rot, they must be driven to stay in good shape. So I'm trying to find a good home for Nigel.

  • Well I would love to have a mini, but I live in Finland. Anyways awesome car ! Good luck finding the new owner.

  • Hey, one of the best Mini drivers in the world hails from Finland! Go Timo Mäkinen!
