What i want to know is HOW DOES NERO COME INTO THE PICTURE!? I mean we all know Nero is Vergil's son. But that's it. How did Vergil raise his son, how did his son excape the demon world, or for that matter, who's the mother? Maybe Vergil had a kid with a human mother and then left her in the human world while he went to the demon world. Which would be a neat plot twist, i'll take anything, but i want to know what happens next!

Vergil has less moves but sooo much more power per hit. He's also better because he's the older brother. Since I am an older brother myself I see eye to eye with vergil. Although I am honestly a little bit like both. I am a smart-ass and sarcastic yet cold also.

You know that the main character usually survives or beats any villian he or she encounters. If this was a straight up fight we both know Vergil would win. i love how this scene shows that emotions can have a negetive impact. Vergil is always so cool, calculated, collected. However, the thought of being bested in battle clouded his better judgement. If Vergil had swung horizontally instead, he would have won, but that one fatal miscalculation left him in such a state that, upon being found by Mundus, he could not defeat him, and lost his life while being converted to Nelo Angelo.

You know Vergil is awesome because even after he got defeated by Dante he was still fast enough to put out Yamato before Dante got to him, then cuts Dante hand. VEGIL RULES!!!
I admit when I first played this I got kinda choked up at this part. I couldn't imagine having to fight and possibly kill off my own brother and then watch plummet into darkness. Only makes this game all the more epic.

@scorpion28104 The only reason Dante won because the Force Edge is of no use in the hands of the ill-willed. Following Sparda for 2000 years, the sword somehow has been imbued with Sparda's spirit & righteousness to not obey evil, that's why neither Vergil nor Sanctus were able to use the sword. Blood & amulets of Sparda are needed to unsheathe the sword's true form, but a noble heart is needed to unleash it's true power. Without good will, Force Edge is nothing but a piece of plain steel..

@scorpion28104 Definitely,I rather think the new game as an alternate universe trick the industry always come up with when they're running out of ideas.Besides,the game trailer only released as "DMC" abbreviate,we can't say for sure that's a Devil May Cry sequel/prequel (Well let just hope not).And I'm on your page,the new Dante do look a lot more vulnerable compared to the previous incarnations...
@KyranSparda Yes...except, in that same trailer, he acknowledges "My name is Dante." So, kind of hard to ignore the name, the twin handguns, the demons, and the iconic red (but mixed with blue) overcoat. It's still headed by Capcom, too. It's definitely Devil May Cry.
@scorpion28104 I think vergil is WAYYY STRONGER. vergil has the brute strength, is fast as fuck, can't die, can teleport, and can throw phantom swords to no limit. dante is about equal, but capcom needed some excuse to win against the final boss so dante wouldn't face what he did in the first showdown, and this game may be my favorite game of all time- BEST GAMEPLAY I'VE EVER SEEN! Vergil's son is extremely powerful too, but not as strong as dante, still i think vergil is dominant and my favrite

And maybe that would be how he was how he was in DMC 1? AN dI never thought it would be a secret ending, considering I got that after every game session I had.

Besides they could've fought for eternity if vergil hadn't given up at the end. Since the portal for the demon world was closing might as well end it. At least Vergil never gave up his pride as a demon.

I think Vergil is still alive This is just a thought on DMC4 when u play as Nero u know the frist boss u fight not Dante that big ass monster that do fire he will say (u are just like he was) after u beat and then he return to the demon world maybe on DMC when u fight Vergil his name not Vergil on DMC its something else I forgot when u beat him maybe he return to the Demon World and had a encounter with that big monster that do fire. thats y he said that. Maybe Vergil arm is like Nero after DBHU

Dante wasn't stronger then Vergil and same Vergil wasn't stronger then Dante. Their were twins, so power of their father was shared. IMO Vergil loose beacose he was proud, he was fighting for himself. Dante fight with heart, for some higher reasons.

You know Vergil is awesome because even after he got defeated by Dante he was still fast enough to put out Yamato before Dante got to him, then cuts Dante hand. VEGIL RULES!!!

I admit when I first played this I got kinda choked up at this part. I couldn't imagine having to fight and possibly kill off my own brother and then watch plummet into darkness. Only makes this game all the more epic.

I would like Vergil and Dante working together.It would be great and they could beat any demon.Why they just cant be friends??Ok they are different but they are brothers .Each of them are tough and very powerfull,but as partners they could do more things, even sparda wouldnt be a problem for them or that bastard mundus....

@scorpion28104 The only reason Dante won because the Force Edge is of no use in the hands of the ill-willed. Following Sparda for 2000 years, the sword somehow has been imbued with Sparda's spirit & righteousness to not obey evil, that's why neither Vergil nor Sanctus were able to use the sword. Blood & amulets of Sparda are needed to unsheathe the sword's true form, but a noble heart is needed to unleash it's true power. Without good will, Force Edge is nothing but a piece of plain steel..

@KyranSparda Actually they are twins,so they should have the same power,but from internet sources is told that Vergil is a better sword master then Dante....A demon soul can't be hold in a sword....So the fight was absolutely fair...Still it doesn't mean that Dante is better than Vergil cause the first fight Vergil won...

@scorpion28104 By what I meant "imbued with Sparda's spirit & righteousness" is the tendency of an object after the usage of long period.For instance,an axe used for cutting log for a long time somehow has a jagged edge surface and not suitable for slicing flesh,though it can,but may as not well as a war axe.It means the object somehow adopts the tendency usage of the user after a certain period and become more efficient and prone to the user's trend of actions,and execute according to it.

@scorpion28104 And yes,I agree with you.Neither of the brothers have the power superior than one another,but I'd like to think if Virgil uses Yamato in the final battle he would've stand a greater chance against Dante.1st,since his rapid swordsmanship are not trained for broadswords.2nd,Force Edge has a tendency not to cut down the innocent.Take an example from their 2nd fight,they fought to a draw when Virgil uses Yamato...

@KyranSparda Well your theory can be right,but we'll never know this for sure,the only think i know that DMC 3 is a great game,and has the best storyline in DMC franchise!DMC 4 is also good and i play more it as the gameplay is better there and graphics but the 3-rd one was a beast when it appeard....It would be better if they'll make a continuation of these DMC,and not that piece of shit with that emo that they call"Dante".

@scorpion28104 Definitely,I rather think the new game as an alternate universe trick the industry always come up with when they're running out of ideas.Besides,the game trailer only released as "DMC" abbreviate,we can't say for sure that's a Devil May Cry sequel/prequel (Well let just hope not).And I'm on your page,the new Dante do look a lot more vulnerable compared to the previous incarnations...

@KyranSparda Yes...except, in that same trailer, he acknowledges "My name is Dante." So, kind of hard to ignore the name, the twin handguns, the demons, and the iconic red (but mixed with blue) overcoat. It's still headed by Capcom, too. It's definitely Devil May Cry.

@scorpion28104 I think vergil is WAYYY STRONGER. vergil has the brute strength, is fast as fuck, can't die, can teleport, and can throw phantom swords to no limit. dante is about equal, but capcom needed some excuse to win against the final boss so dante wouldn't face what he did in the first showdown, and this game may be my favorite game of all time- BEST GAMEPLAY I'VE EVER SEEN! Vergil's son is extremely powerful too, but not as strong as dante, still i think vergil is dominant and my favrite
