Sometime I believe it's better to hide your non belief. My boss would quit speaking to me if I admitted I was a non believer. It's wrong but I love my job so ...
don't use the point of athieism..... use the concept of ANYTHING you believe in strongly- would you be open about it to the point where it negatively effected you to stand up for what you believe in? ... LOVE THIS SHIT!!!! <3
Socrates valued truth more than anyone in his time as seen throuh Plato, yet he wasn't an athiest. So are you saying Socrates could have been one of these "closet athiest" w
It's almost the opposite of this in the UK. Generally speaking, if you say you're a Christian here then a lot of people will view you with suspicion and distrust, the net result of which is usually that the religious person is just ignored.
I feel sorry for American atheists having to live in a country with so many backwards religious views.
I'm from the Netherlands. No one here talks about religion. Even the (not even a handful) few religious people that i know aren't that busy with it. And no one talks about it either.
We go about our lives with each other, and compared with the USA, it goes absolutely great.
hmmm it sounds like america have it a lot worse than UK... in Uk i can proudly say im an atheist... my step dad "tsk" whenever theres a religious person speaking on TV, but then my step dad is a really intelligent man who design planes and satellite... some christian lady tried to convert me and my mum by invited us to alpha course.. i went cause theres food.. i ate and never talked to her since. the food was shit btw, regretted wasting my time.
I live in louisisana where everybody is a huge conservative/christan and I went to my school and told some of my derives I was atheist and only 2 of them even cared I found out that theres like 20-25 atheist people at my school :)
I'm afraid to tell my Grandparents I don't believe in god because there old and I don't want either of them to have a heart attack ...... guess im just a pussy
America must be fucked up if an atheist comes along and states that atheists are being persecuted for not believing in the allmighty boogyman.
You got a black president. Next step is a woman. Then a single (why have somebody rule the land that gets distracted by family?). The second last step would be a non-christian president. The last step an atheist or agnostic president.
For I am sure Christians would rather have their president believe in the wrong god than in no god.
Is it really so hard to be an atheist in Americastania? I always thought the stereotype of americans being religious fanatics to be just a exaggeration.
@Assaultstan depends on where you live. see i live in the south and i go to a christian school and i recently became athiest and outside of my closest friends i would be socially exiled. even my biology teacher says evolution is crap and the earth is 6000 years old -_-. so im in the closet.....
@Assaultstan I don't know if it's applicable for all of America, but where I live we regularly get Jehovah's Witness people at our door, Bible Preachers at Bus plazas and public places, etc. And I've seen tons of both atheist and religious fanatics on the internet. Not that I hate them for their beliefs, but they ARE annoying as hell.
Americastania? What the fuck was that suppose to mean...anyways.
It's NOT an exaggeration! You can lose family and friends for claiming that your an atheist.
They call America a Christian Country, they actually are trying to run this Country on Christian morals and beliefs. Most people think they can prove theirself to be correct by using God and the Bible as and actual arguement as if the Bible is valid.
@Assaultstan America is a very large country, and the culture varies greatly in different regions. TJ lives in Louisiana which is concidered the American south. That is where they take Jesus very seriously. I am an atheist (and I'm open about it) in the northeast, no one around here cares. The northeast, the west coast, and some of the major cities are the most progressive.
lol dude ur wrong..... i hope u see this comment over all others cuz ur saying that atheists have it bad?? true christians......not the ones u described but thrue christians get it 30 times worse that an atheist can ever get it in society and the thing is its been writen now 2000 years ago. ur gunna read this (if u do) and find a reason y im wrong but live like a christian and u'll understand....thts the only way and i repeat the only way u can ever understand..........wow this is long
@MrBenjiman96 He's arguing that atheism isn't the norm, catholic or chrisitan is more common, which is probably true. Atheists have a higher chance of being shunned than someone that believes in god, if you don't agree, go out and test it. Tell 50 people you believe in god and 50 people you don't, chances are more will argue with you if you do not. You never gave any specific reasoning as to how people who believe in god have it harder than people that do not, so explain your reasoning.
I suspect you are angry with God for giving you such a small penis (which can be seen on your Encyclopedia Dramatica page). But you fail to realize that the theory of evolution (if it were true) would be even more to blame for your condition as genetics are the basis of your physical features (or lack of).
@Seckswithatoaster HAHA that coming from someone who's handle is sex with a toaster. You're a smart one. I am a proud athiest. I agree with him. And what is funny is I am looked down on more than the homosexual community.
I only tell people I'm atheist if their an acquaintance on up. Responding to random people who say that needlessly expends time that could be used on other shit.
You fidget as if you had tiny little atheists nipping at your buttocks. Wait, you do, they are your subscribers! If you are an atheist in America, you value your own truth over the real truth. Fool. I don't even need to know you in order to tell you are evil. You even stink of evil and fictitious lies over the Internet! All hail TheAmazingIdiot!
You fidget as if you had tiny little atheists nipping at your buttocks. Wait, you do, they are your subscribers! If you are an atheist in America, you value your own truth over the real truth. Fool. @lovingthetruth7 So, your evil couse you don't believe in a religion? You people really need to stop commenting so badly about athiests. Why can't you just let us be athiests and we will let you guys be religious? You guys get so mad for every little thing we say about religion, while i see your type of comments and laugh... I think it's pretty funny how people can get this mad over something like that..
@lovingthetruth7 He is not saying it is the truth, he is simply implying that your truth isn't certain either, you cannot be certain about your beliefs and you have never seen a proof of it
@lovingthetruth7 'your own truth over the real truth' ... truth/tro͞oTH/
Noun:
The quality or state of being true: "the truth of her accusation".
That which is true or in accordance with fact or reality: "tell me the truth".
Seems rather independent of perspective, doesn't it? Yeah... I value truth. That's why I don't follow a mythical sky daddy. Does that make me evil too? No. The fact that I want to shove your religion into a garbage disposal might though.
@arethkyntaul Oh, lookee here, I offended one of his atheist butt nippers who fired back with the "man in the sky comment." Can you not find something new, you're boring me to atheist butt nipping,...I mean, tears. You've got it right, truth is that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality. So much (truth, fact, and reality) in believing you evolved through IMPOSSIBLE random chance mutations (errors) from primordial ooze in a Universe that just always happened to exist
@lovingthetruth7 Offended? No. In fact in all honesty you couldn't offend me if you tried. I don't value your input enough. Not just because you are a theist and have shown yourself to be quite unintelligent, but also simply because your opinions, indeed your existence, don't matter to me. I would also note that you've shown yourself to not understand metaphor. In the early case logic would be the disposal. I don't intend on returning to this video, so if you wish to continue your idiocy, enjoy.
@lovingthetruth7 Ah,"butt nippers" how lovely. Jesus would be so proud of you. He strongly endorsed petty name calling. Live by His example. The most successful method of proselytizing is calling people evil butt nippers. That sounds kinda sexy actually. <3
@omegawhitedog Evolution is a fact now my friend. It is an indesputible theory with tons of evidence to back it up. If not evolution, then what? Creationism? No evidence for that.
@arethkyntaul while (intelligently) evolving design... right? You value truth...please, I can't stop the laughing lol lol lol lol!! You follow a mythlogocial molecule daddy. Yes, by the way, that does make you evil, just like your master above. As you are shoving religion into a garbage disposal (however you plan on doing that), don't forget to remove your hand before you turn it on. I know you cannot be too intelligent if you trust in atheism.
I told every one on face book (friends and family) I think for some of them it made sense kinda like ohhh that's why he's acts in a certain way. I just couldn't take no more of there bad mouthing atheist at the dinner tables, gatherings and etc. because they was talking bad about me. Atheist is just a label, it doesn't mean I stand for every thing all the other atheist stand for, I find that most people who are atheist figured out there is no god for them self's.
What happens when you go to someone elses house... and you stay for dinner. Then they want to say grace. What do you do? It'd be awfully rude to just say "I don't believe in god" and watch them say it... WHAT DO?
@RegulusOriginal I have a friend who is christian and they say grace before dinner, and i respect them for what they believe in. (even though i don't) Just pray or whatever they do and play along.
I am a nurse so I have to play along. I don't volunteer to lead prayers. I work with people that are close to death everyday. My job is to sometimes comfort them in their last hours. People at work have asked me if I believe in God I tell them I sure hope there is a God and I say it with a confident voice. I feel very uncomfortabe sometimes at my job because when discussing religion it is so easy to say the wrong thing to a patient.
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
@cantcatchmenow2 An athiest does not believe in a god/gods. Personally, I think it's about knocking down the religions with no fucking evidence and find the one that has undeniable evidence.
and sometimes your reaction for being atheist is...no1 cares...really it shouldn't effect anything at all. it's like if you told people you're favorite color is blue.
I'm an atheist but I'm not out to my family members. Coming out would only hurt them, and the consequences for me would be too great such as I could be alienated by my family and could -by law- lose my life whenever I visit back home because my "documented" religion is Islam, and no legal way of changing that exists without risking legal prosecution. This is a huge part why I love America because although we're still not widely accepted as atheists, at least it's perfectly legal to be one!
According to Christians they are suppose to love everyone and be kind to everyone but for some reason if your atheist they hate you and your not even considered a person which is fucking funny cause i thought they were suppose to reach the world and spread the gospel does this piss anyone else off?
You know, i respect what you believe, but why do you got to bash on Jesus and the Christian religion, you know some people who watch your crap, may believe in Jesus Christ. Honestly i think your dumb and stupid, but hey, im not making a video on how dumb you are. But if i were you, i think you should keep your stuff to yourself, cause some of us may take it offensively.
You have to understand sometimes when you get punched in the face it may not be because you're atheist or christian, but because you are a loud mouth asshole with no class or respect for anyone. And that @amazingatheist, is what you are most of the time.
@CommanderMattShepard bro i had the same shit happen to me with a girl i was seriously dating, so i feel your pain. but thats life for an atheist, sometimes it sucks, but we get to know we are right in the end, so fuck it.
@CommanderMattShepard and plus now you dont have to sit threw incredibly boring church sermons by preachers who know less about the religion they are preaching about than you do. have a feeling youve probably been there...
@CommanderMattShepard why do you assume that all christians are assholes.... we arent fucked up. you arent fucked up. STEREOTYPES ARE FUCKED UP! remember that one. dont look towards the majority of a group to develope opinions about them.
@xx07XIrishX07xx i never said christians are fucked up. i said, its fucked up, that my girlfriend was ignorant and broke up with me just because i dont believe the the flying spaghetti monster...'sighs'
The order of the universe and life is incredible GENIUS! So genius that its beyond our grasp. The cycle of life, the way the chain of insects and animals work, the way our skin heals itself, the way everybody dies and is born. The cycle of time, sunrise, sunset, All of it is just such amazing design, that i think the percentage of an 'accident' creating such a perfect whole universe is just too low. There is just too much genius intelligence behind lifes design for me not to believe in god.
@yupstand The fact that the Universe is amazing doesn't suggest AT ALL that it was 'designed' by some supernatural being. Don't you understand that WE are a PRODUCT of the habitat in which we live? Don't you see that if things were different, WE would be different? Also, the universe, the earth, and human beings are far from perfect in design. Explain the "genius" behind a black hole. Why isn't there more life on other planets? Why can we only inhabit a small % of the earth's surface? THINK!
@scotttisdale I agree that if things were different such as environment then we would be different, but how does that relate to disproving a god?. If there is intelligent design behind how something works, i tend to believe that there was a intelligent entity that created it, call me crazy! Ill ask you a question, Do you believe that the design of everything has incredibly intelligence or do you believe it is was just an coincidence that everything works together (cycle of life) so perfectly.
@yupstand If you believe that if things were different then so would we, then you don't believe that we were 'designed' but instead are a product of evolution in our environment. That doesn't disprove god, but 'intelligent design'. You are missing the point. It isn't a coincidence that everything works together (cycle of life), that is again a product of survival and natural selection. Many species have gone extinct during this process. It's not 'perfect' for any living organism.
@yupstand If you consider the BILLIONS and BILLIONS of planets in our universe, it is pretty much a statistical certainty that AT LEAST one planet would fall the perfect distance from a star and perfect temperature etc to harbor life as we know it. We happen to be living on one of those planets (earth) through billions of years of evolution. NOT bc we were placed here by some supernatural powers.
@scotttisdale and to answer another question you asked, of course there is more life on other planets, do you know how frickin huge this universe is!! infact thats a silly question i just asked, because NO ONE knows how big this universe is! we can barely see outside our own galaxy. Im sure there is plenty of life out there. But you know what scottisdale? Just because i cant see them doesn't mean that they dont exist......think about that one.
@yupstand UMMMMM please read what i said!! I said "why isn't there MORE life on other planets"? "MORE" I obviously agree that statistically there has to be other life out there somewhere, but if the universe was so 'intelligently designed', then don't you agree that there would be multiple planets in our solar system or our galaxy that can sustain life? What's the point of all these other "dead" planets? How "intelligent" is that. You don't seem to be getting any point i'm trying to make.
@scotttisdale i dont understand your argument that there should be more planets sustaining life to prove that there is intelligent design in our universe. I assume that if there are dead planets that they once carried life but that would have been a very long time ago.You seem to be debating the existence of god based on your confusion on what the PURPOSE of all this means.(''Whats the point of all these dead planets'') Where i think humans are too primitive at this stage to even understand it.
@yupstand I'm saying that it seems like an awfully large waste of space. If it's 'designed' by some "Genius", then you would think there would be much more life out there. And to say that those planets were perhaps once inhabited also infers that every living thing on those planets died off at some point. Again that proves a greatly flawed 'design'. If I was to design a universe and living organisms it would definitely be far more sufficient than what we have.
@scotttisdale Just cause we dont understand it doesnt mean it doesnt exist.i believe something created us that had extreme intelligence,i dont know if it was an alien species, i dont know if its some unworldly force that is beyond out comprehension. But thats what i believe. My opinion has nothing to do with religion, its my intuitive logic that tells me that there was a creator. Even Einstein came to the conclusion that there was some creator. And Einstein knew his shit!
@yupstand Ummmmm Einstein came to that conclusion?? Show me real proof of that. Regardless, someone else's opinion will never change mine. If we were created by some "extreme intelligence" and put on this planet don't you think we would a) have gills so we could survive in water which covers over 70% of the earth's surface b)have wings so we didn't have to spend thousands of years figuring out how to build an airplane c) be faster d) be stronger? How 'intelligent' is our design really?
@scotttisdale Einstein said that "God does not play dice," meaning he doesn't believe in a chaos / accident theory of how things came to be. And if i had a choice of either believing your theory, or Einsteins theory, i would have to pick Einstein. Another great quote from Einstein is this one~ ''We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how.''
@yupstand "I received your letter of June 10th. I have never talked to a Jesuit priest in my life and I am astonished by the audacity to tell such lies about me. From the viewpoint of a Jesuit priest I am, of course, and have always been an atheist." Albert Einstein. July 2, 1945 How about that one? Nevertheless who cares what someone else thinks. Form your own opinions. However, there are PLENTY of other genius atheists if you really want to get into it.
@scotttisdale actually Einstein clearly stated that he is not a atheist, infact he holds the same belief that i have, that there is intelligence behind this creation, but we aren't capable of understanding it. You can find that information at Einsteins view on Religion at Wikipedia. But you sound like you know what the truth is behind everything. You should seriously consider contacting CNN with your amazing discovery, im sure it will be all over the newspapers. I mean this is really BIG.
@yupstand Oh really? When was the last time you sat down with Einstein and discussed this? It's all speculation. You can't deny the quote I posted earlier. I never claimed to have the answer to everything. I was simply debating your moronic beliefs and backing it up with strong arguments. Your answer is "Wikipedia said Einstein believed what I do, so I'm prob right". I believe in something called evolution which is based on factual evidence. CNN is already aware of this theory you d-bag.
@scotttisdale but really man, im not being sarcastic. Your theory that if there was a god we would have gills and would be able to swim under the water. Thats GOLD! you should really put that out there, im sure everyone will turn atheist once you put your amazing evidence out to the public. Infact i think im an atheist now, ur like... i mean.. im kind of blushing here.. but i think ur a genius!
@yupstand I was saying that if it was an 'intelligent design' ("intelligent" being the operative word here), then we would be different. And yes, I believe that if we had gills we would be more "intelligently" designed as a viable creature on this planet. Give me an intelligent argument against that. You have not made one strong argument for your argument. You are one of the biggest morons i've ever debated with. That is, of course, unless you are 10 yrs old. Then I apologize.
@scotttisdale dude, you have convinced me, i am officially an atheist. Your writings on the '' people would have gills and be able to swim under water if there was a god'' bit is really amazing. You should really think about publishing a paper on that. seriously, im NOT JOKING. If i was you i would call up CNN and tell them to release your evidence.
@yupstand Do you even know what "evidence" is?? I never claimed to have any "evidence" of why humans should have gills. It's a theory. And one that makes sense. MORON! And STOP SAYING "INFACT"! THAT'S NOT A WORD YOU IDIOT. It's "in fact". Two separate words. Learn to speak English and we will have another debate. And please learn the difference between your and you're. PLEASE
@scotttisdale hey scottisdale, dont listen to that idiot yupstand, he sounds like a typical religious nut. I found this website that statistically proves that atheists have a larger I.Q then believers, if you go to w w w.atheistsare/dumb/retards.com you can see the researched results. Its pretty amazing.
@yupstand I guess you are not too good with metaphor, even ones that are from your holy book. What I mean is no one is interested in your preachings here, and no one will fall for your weak attempt at attacking science. Believe me, we've seen all your arguments before and we're not interested. Also no, I'm not a religious atheist because being atheist excludes me from being religious. Get a dictionary.
@MastermindX whos holy book? ive never read the bible, and im not religious, i think religion is similar to politics and a cult. But you obviously are religious, you have a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe. And just like christianity and all the other religions you have no proof to back up your beliefs. Unless of course you have some earth shattering evidence to prove you are right? You got any?
Problem is mainly ppl treat atheists like they have aids, or believe they are negative toward other religions. When in fact atheists are the most religion tolerant people on the planet. People also have the problem with half believing in religion, which you cant just do. You can't just drink in a religion where your not allowed to because its not convenient. Why should anything in the bible or whatever writing be excluded because of the same. I solely don't like people who are non accepting.
the thing i have always failed to understand is how religions like christianity and islam has been allowed to cling on to society for so long. I mean after all the problems they have caused and wars, but i guess a lot of people want to have a reason to harm or kill other people they don't like. And all this crap about you'll get punished like you are going to hell and all that if you don't believe , um .. isn't that you 're supposed to be and do good the reason ? did that change ? i dunno
I believe in possibilites. What was their before their was? How far can you magnify a cell on your finger until you could no more & the machine infinite magnify? I say god is more like the monolith in 2001, less the beard & attitude. Does a radiant energy band of corporeal energy exist from the dead fueled by thought & lifeforce? Far fetched, yes. Just remember its probably not as far as asking what was their before their was. I believe in god, not the wrath of god, as I dont believe in men
its weird to me that in America its such a big deal to be an atheist... Here in the Netherlands we have christians and atheist. And yes it can sometimes couse arguments. But never have I met anyone who looked at me differently when I said I don't believe in a god.
Atheists who speak up for their beliefs are also making a statement that they value truth more than lies? How does this not also apply to everyone who speaks up for what they believe is true, even if they're a Christian?
You're right that some atheists would prefer not to get into a theological debate every time someone says "God bless you" to them, but by the same token, some people WOULD love to get into a debate, just because they're contrarian assholes!
I guess my question would be; If I believe in truth, and i personally know as much, why would it be contradictory for me to respect others ideas of truth? Stating my religious beliefs, or lack there of, is important when relative to the situation. But someone saying "God Bless You" isn't disrespectful. It's simply their way of saying many different things. It's not because they're trying to insult me. It's just their way. Mine is simply just "Good bye" or Thank you". That's my perspective.
@krimzonghost1987 hey i have a question to your belief in truth. Whats truth to you and do you live your life accordingly to what you believe in? not tryna be offensive but i just dont know anything about atheists
@kevinlam1868 That's a very sensitive question to answer. I'd have to say that on the grander scale of things, my personal beliefs in the matter are irrelevant. What's important to me is respect. If I were an Atheist, should i try to belittle and insult others because their beliefs are different than my own? Same can be said if i were a Christian, Muslim or Jewish. Me believing in something doesn't grant me infallibility.
How can anyone be a atheist and not at least a agnostic? ANything can happen, anything is possible. A idiot named George was elected president twice. It doesnt say you value truth as much as it seems the angry simply turn on the belief of God. of course this guy isnt exactly the angry type
@guitargold77 Agnosticism and Gnosticism have to do with what you know. Atheism and Theism have to do with what you believe. There is a difference. For example, I would call myself an agnostic atheist. Although I can't know for sure that there is or isn't a god, I don't believe in one. I go about my life and make choices in my life with that disbelief on board.
I keep it from my grandparents because I don't want to be nagged and they're going to die soon anyway. What's the harm? Ignorance is bliss for them. I don't hide it from other people, but really, it's a waste of time to try to have a reasonable discussion with christians because christianity is not reason based. I seriously have had people ask me, "well, if you don't believe in heaven, what happens after we die"? REALLY?!
hmmmm does it really make you admirable? never thought about it like that because all of my friends some of my teachers and even my family members know I'm an atheist my friends vary from christians, catholics, islamic, buddhist and pretty much so on and theres no problems at all
I feel sorry for Americans, here in the UK everyone I know (apart from my mother) is an Atheist. And she is completely open and opinionated as-well, she has her own form of beliefs just like we do. It's usually only people over 70 here who aren't Atheist, I guess a lot of us are far to stupid to have an opinion though.
Um, do you have a secular constitution? I seem to remember this chap, the Arch Bishop of Canterbury? Queen? Whole head of church and state kind of thing?
@AlphaDogmatist Oh I meant know personally, sorry I didn't make that clear. I agree, but honestly it is in the minority here, at-least where I live (which is in Canterbury, funny you mention the arch bishop). I just wanted to make it clear that I do not hate people who are Christian, that would be idiotic, everyone is entitled to an opinion.
@MikeFromAccounting I went to a christian school for a year. They where hardcore to, bible study every day, taught the earth was 6,000 years old, and had chapel in school on Tuesdays. I am an atheist. I was open about it. I had to defend my beliefs against almost everyone I know because I was open about it. I refused to pray, and I refused to sing at chapel, and I was disliked by my teachers. The point is, be open about your beliefs, they are as sacred as the peoples around you.
Lmao.. You guys think it's hard being an atheist around christians? I've been raised in a devout Muslim family and have been forced to attend a Muslim school since first grade. Only my closest friends know that I think religion is complete and utter bullshit. I can't imagine what I'd have to go through if I were to proclaim my atheism to the world. I'd rather just keep it closeted and laugh at religious idiots in secret.
Pretty much my entire school knows i'm an Atheist, but I'm hardly ever noted on it even when I live in Georgia (which is majority Christian) and i've had a few conversations here and there. I just find that the key is to keep a smile on your face :).
@dakerson1234 Unfortunately, for your society to change, someone has to stand up to it. If you stand up, you might find more people stand up with you, you might find you stand alone. I feel for your situation, in some ways i think it would be right for you to stand up to your society, but i am aware you may be "martyred". Change in your society does have to start from someone who will probably suffer, much like black equality started from people like rosa parks.
@MentalForIt For me, I don't blatantly say i'm atheist but if God does actually come up in conversation, I will simply say i'm not religious. From there, the true colors of the person usually shines through and they start attacking me.
@dakerson1234 I can only encourage you to keep your head high and know that they are just arrogant arse holes. I still think you should be plain about your beliefs and help make it so that people treat you as you should be treated i.e. irrespective of your theological beliefs. Search "The real god: an epiphany" that may make you feel better about the people who surround you and the nature of their ridiculous beliefs.
Sometime I believe it's better to hide your non belief. My boss would quit speaking to me if I admitted I was a non believer. It's wrong but I love my job so ...

@Assaultstan I don't know if it's applicable for all of America, but where I live we regularly get Jehovah's Witness people at our door, Bible Preachers at Bus plazas and public places, etc. And I've seen tons of both atheist and religious fanatics on the internet.
Thats pretty bad for atheist.

There is just too much genius intelligence behind lifes design for me not to believe in god.
yupstand 1 week ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@yupstand The fact that the Universe is amazing doesn't suggest AT ALL that it was 'designed' by some supernatural being. Don't you understand that WE are a PRODUCT of the habitat in which we live? Don't you see that if things were different, WE would be different? Also, the universe, the earth, and human beings are far from perfect in design. Explain the "genius" behind a black hole. Why isn't there more life on other planets? Why can we only inhabit a small % of the earth's surface? THINK!
scotttisdale 1 week ago
@scotttisdale I agree that if things were different such as environment then we would be different, but how does that relate to disproving a god?. If there is intelligent design behind how something works, i tend to believe that there was a intelligent entity that created it, call me crazy! Ill ask you a question, Do you believe that the design of everything has incredibly intelligence or do you believe it is was just an coincidence that everything works together (cycle of life) so perfectly.
yupstand 1 week ago
@yupstand If you believe that if things were different then so would we, then you don't believe that we were 'designed' but instead are a product of evolution in our environment. That doesn't disprove god, but 'intelligent design'. You are missing the point. It isn't a coincidence that everything works together (cycle of life), that is again a product of survival and natural selection. Many species have gone extinct during this process. It's not 'perfect' for any living organism.
scotttisdale 1 week ago
@yupstand If you consider the BILLIONS and BILLIONS of planets in our universe, it is pretty much a statistical certainty that AT LEAST one planet would fall the perfect distance from a star and perfect temperature etc to harbor life as we know it. We happen to be living on one of those planets (earth) through billions of years of evolution. NOT bc we were placed here by some supernatural powers.
scotttisdale 1 week ago
@scotttisdale and to answer another question you asked, of course there is more life on other planets, do you know how frickin huge this universe is!! infact thats a silly question i just asked, because NO ONE knows how big this universe is! we can barely see outside our own galaxy. Im sure there is plenty of life out there. But you know what scottisdale? Just because i cant see them doesn't mean that they dont exist......think about that one.
yupstand 1 week ago
@yupstand UMMMMM please read what i said!! I said "why isn't there MORE life on other planets"? "MORE" I obviously agree that statistically there has to be other life out there somewhere, but if the universe was so 'intelligently designed', then don't you agree that there would be multiple planets in our solar system or our galaxy that can sustain life? What's the point of all these other "dead" planets? How "intelligent" is that. You don't seem to be getting any point i'm trying to make.
scotttisdale 1 week ago
@scotttisdale i dont understand your argument that there should be more planets sustaining life to prove that there is intelligent design in our universe. I assume that if there are dead planets that they once carried life but that would have been a very long time ago.You seem to be debating the existence of god based on your confusion on what the PURPOSE of all this means.(''Whats the point of all these dead planets'') Where i think humans are too primitive at this stage to even understand it.
yupstand 1 week ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@yupstand I'm saying that it seems like an awfully large waste of space. If it's 'designed' by some "Genius", then you would think there would be much more life out there. And to say that those planets were perhaps once inhabited also infers that every living thing on those planets died off at some point. Again that proves a greatly flawed 'design'. If I was to design a universe and living organisms it would definitely be far more sufficient than what we have.
scotttisdale 1 week ago
@scotttisdale Just cause we dont understand it doesnt mean it doesnt exist.i believe something created us that had extreme intelligence,i dont know if it was an alien species, i dont know if its some unworldly force that is beyond out comprehension. But thats what i believe. My opinion has nothing to do with religion, its my intuitive logic that tells me that there was a creator. Even Einstein came to the conclusion that there was some creator. And Einstein knew his shit!
yupstand 1 week ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@yupstand Ummmmm Einstein came to that conclusion?? Show me real proof of that. Regardless, someone else's opinion will never change mine. If we were created by some "extreme intelligence" and put on this planet don't you think we would a) have gills so we could survive in water which covers over 70% of the earth's surface b)have wings so we didn't have to spend thousands of years figuring out how to build an airplane c) be faster d) be stronger? How 'intelligent' is our design really?
scotttisdale 1 week ago
@scotttisdale Einstein said that "God does not play dice," meaning he doesn't believe in a chaos / accident theory of how things came to be. And if i had a choice of either believing your theory, or Einsteins theory, i would have to pick Einstein. Another great quote from Einstein is this one~ ''We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how.''

@yupstand "I received your letter of June 10th. I have never talked to a Jesuit priest in my life and I am astonished by the audacity to tell such lies about me. Form your own opinions. However, there are PLENTY of other genius atheists if you really want to get into it.

@yupstand Oh, and I know who wrote the book. His name is Charles Darwin and The Book is entitled "On the Origin of Species". Check it out.
scotttisdale 1 week ago
@scotttisdale actually Einstein clearly stated that he is not a atheist, infact he holds the same belief that i have, that there is intelligence behind this creation, but we aren't capable of understanding it. You can find that information at Einsteins view on Religion at Wikipedia. But you sound like you know what the truth is behind everything. You should seriously consider contacting CNN with your amazing discovery, im sure it will be all over the newspapers. I mean this is really BIG.
yupstand 1 week ago
@yupstand Oh really? When was the last time you sat down with Einstein and discussed this? It's all speculation. You can't deny the quote I posted earlier. I never claimed to have the answer to everything. I was simply debating your moronic beliefs and backing it up with strong arguments. Your answer is "Wikipedia said Einstein believed what I do, so I'm prob right". I believe in something called evolution which is based on factual evidence. CNN is already aware of this theory you d-bag.

Infact i think im an atheist now, ur like... i mean.. im kind of blushing here.. but i think ur a genius!
yupstand 1 week ago
@yupstand I was saying that if it was an 'intelligent design' ("intelligent" being the operative word here), then we would be different. And yes, I believe that if we had gills we would be more "intelligently" designed as a viable creature on this planet. Give me an intelligent argument against that. You have not made one strong argument for your argument. You are one of the biggest morons i've ever debated with. That is, of course, unless you are 10 yrs old. Then I apologize.

People also have the problem with half believing in religion, which you cant just do. You can't just drink in a religion where your not allowed to because its not convenient. Why should anything in the bible or whatever writing be excluded because of the same. I solely don't like people who are non accepting.

Whats truth to you and do you live your life accordingly to what you believe in? not tryna be offensive but i just dont know anything about atheists
kevinlam1868 1 week ago

REALLY?!

Well if you think about it, Atheists in the Middle East probably WILL get hurt... bad... like head-chopping bad...

I'm an atheist and I normally like your videos but this one sounds a bit douchey. It sounds like the fight against gay marriage.
Gay people secretly are heterosexual. It's just a phase/lie promoted by liberalism.
Christians are secretly atheitists. It's just a phase/lie promoted by consertivism/ Christianity.
See? No difference.

@RotomicP The UK???
Um, do you have a secular constitution? I seem to remember this chap, the Arch Bishop of Canterbury? Queen? Whole head of church and state kind of thing?
AlphaDogmatist 1 week ago

So when i lose my job for being openly atheist you'll give me a new one or pay my bills?
dakerson1234 1 week ago
@dakerson1234 Unfortunately, for your society to change, someone has to stand up to it. If you stand up, you might find more people stand up with you, you might find you stand alone. I feel for your situation, in some ways i think it would be right for you to stand up to your society, but i am aware you may be "martyred". Change in your society does have to start from someone who will probably suffer, much like black equality started from people like rosa parks.
MentalForIt 1 week ago
@MentalForIt For me, I don't blatantly say i'm atheist but if God does actually come up in conversation, I will simply say i'm not religious. From there, the true colors of the person usually shines through and they start attacking me.
dakerson1234 1 week ago
@dakerson1234 I can only encourage you to keep your head high and know that they are just arrogant arse holes. I still think you should be plain about your beliefs and help make it so that people treat you as you should be treated i.e. irrespective of your theological beliefs. Search "The real god: an epiphany" that may make you feel better about the people who surround you and the nature of their ridiculous beliefs.

@dakerson1234 Employers can't discriminate on the basis of religion. Unless there's no law against it in your country.
