There's a FaceBook campaign community page that's trying to raise "Likes" on their page to try to show to Coca-Cola that Surge should be the replacement for the recently discontinued Vault. Visit the link and hit "Like". \m/ Feed the Rush! \m/ facebook dot com / surgemovement
This soda WAS the 90's. Well, at least the late-90's. :-) I know this was my soda back in '98. I tried to have one everyday afterschool in spring and early-summer. Yeah, I damn sure remember drinking Surge like crazy that year...on any given Saturday night in my household back in '98 it was a bottle (or bottles) of Surge, Stuffed Crust Pizza (from you know where!), and a tape rental from Blockbuster. After the tape was over, it was "SHOWTIME!" at the "APOLLO!". :D Good times back in '98...
Hey everybody. I live in Oslo, Norway have been thinking of starting an import business of Urge (basically Surge - it's made by Coca Cola Norway.) I was hoping to get feedback if people are interested and how much they would be willing to pay per bottle (shipping from Norway to the US is expensive.) Possibly starting a website soon. Email me at needforsurge@hotmail.com
Whoa! HA-HA!!! I definitely remember this commercial! And Surge, too, of course! :-)
The commercial...1998. Music--usually Hip-Hop and R&B--was always injected into soda ads during the mid-late 90's. So, its no surprise they decided to use one of Clef's major hits at the time. Seeing this ad again reminds me of watching "Showtime at the Apollo" on Saturday nights in the late-90's. Soda ads always came on during breaks. Actually, I remember when Clef--w/Pras--performed this on "Apollo" in '98.
Go to one of my Max Headroom videos where I say BRING MAX BACK. The purpose was to bring Max Headroom back (The orignal one). But the link also takes you to the coke product department. Copy that link and send it out to all your SURGE FANS you know and tell them to flood in support to bring the drink back. Caffeine is not an issue now with all these other higher caffinated drinks. Someone on another journal said that was the reason they took it away back in 98.

That was said about Mountain Dew, but I guess it would apply to anything with yellow 5 in it.

I remember there was a rumor or something about this soda lowering your sperm count or something. Anyone remember that?
kmmygurl2003 3 years ago
That rumor was more common with Mountain dew.
