routt is overrated.. he gets burned WAYYYY to often. better of the options we have but he def benefited from Namdi when he was here. All you have to do is watch the Lions game from this year.

I know based on stats that Stanford Routt might be number 1 corner. As a season ticket holder I see him live.QB's have no respect for him at all, and he commits many penalties, and is quick to blame his safeties when he gets burned. It killed me last year when they gave him a 1st and 3rd round tender, and I thought they were crazy when they signed him to the contract they gave him. Shoulda waited, and gave Nmandi the money.Teams fear him, and respect him. Stanford Routt should go he's horible.

Stanford Routt's heart is in the right place but his coverage just isnt. The dude gets burned on crucial plays in almost every game I have watched for the Raiders ever since I learned his name. Opposing AFC West QB's must have a motto by now. "When in doubt, go for Routt"

@24CaliKidd Whatevs. I support my team. Complaining about Routt, while popular, was never going to get rid of him and his huge contract. Only Mr. Davis dieing was going to make that happen, and I was not going to root for that. I deal in reality. The reality was that Routt was the number one corner on the 2011 Raiders. The last Raider team assembled by Al Davis. Shit didn't work out.

@sanjit530 Have you looked at Stanford Routt's burn % last year? It was the SAME as Asomugha's, except that Routt had 99 balls thrown his way and Aso only had like 19.

It is EXTREMELY impressive for Routt to keep that type of percentage up when getting thrown at that many times.

So yes, I really do think that Routt is better than Aso.

The stats do not lie. Atleast not the burn percentage stat.

@sanjit530 Routt allowed more catches than Nnamdi had balls thrown his way... but Routt had 99 balls thrown his way! Of course some of them are going to get through! 1/3rd of them to be exact. Same thing for Asomugha. 1/3rd of balls thrown his way were caught by the receiver. Roughly 30%

The thing that makes Routt better is that he is maintaining that 30% completition percentage, but the ball is being thrown at him 99 times... not 18.

@scott71785 Teams chose to go after Routt when Nnamdi was here because Nnamdi was better at shutting his guy DOWN... Routt on the otherhand is really good at shutting his guy down, and he also gets some INT's.

So yeah... I really think as an overall CB, Routt might be a bit better than Aso.

Think about it.

He allows the same amount of passes to be completed on his side of the field, and he gets about 3 or 4 times as many INT's lol.
