  • Wait, these are professionals. Phew I just thought this is just how everyone plays and I was ailing miserbly

  • @CyclopsMonabeckman

Well......keep in mind the date of these videos...November 27, 2008. It's about the same month the game initially came out. If you think these players are playing amazing, then you should look up these same players in recent videos from 2010 and 2011.

  • I like how there is almost no pro players of carl no that he lost his infinite, wonder if it's relient or something...

  • OH NO! He hurt big sis! :(

  • Go Carl!!!

  • Lol ragna jabbed carls sister in the mouth :P

  • lol at 1:32 Kaqn was like "No."

  • @XiahouYuan111 lol i know that was my fav part so funny

  • 1:33 best punch

  • .....whoever says kaqn is not smart is a fool...kaqn is one of the best at blazblue.

  • 2:47

That's a nice way to corner an opponent with Ada ^^

  • Whoa!! This video inspired me to learn to use Carl so badly!!

  • kaqn is a good ragna, but he's not too smart...

  • This match is from Nov 27, 2008...watch what you say, he's smarter than you will ever be.

  • @Emillll why would you say something as asinine as that? you don't know how smart either of these guys are.

  • ecause Kaqn is a pro arcade player that has been playing at the highest level for maybe 10+ years, and has constantly displayed how amazing he is, particularly in his mental game and ability to predict the opponent. Modashiangel on the other hand, is a nobody in comparison and doesn't understand the game.

  • Lol at comment

  • Heh. Loved how Nirvana was bending back, ready to punch and Ragna just jabs her into face like "Don't even think about it." :D

  • Wait, C.S. was perfect for that instance, why'd the burst go through?

  • Kinda funny to see a carl fight before clap loop was found out.

  • 1:06 he totally freakin planned that

  • Nicely done! Carl always seemed like a complex character to control.

  • How appropriate that the player calls himself Dio, cause he plays like he's playing JJBA! ^^

  • ... and people thought Carl was a bad character >=D

  • how does Dio do the air grab that goes downward? he airdash grabs in the air but he does airdash parallel straight across he like curves downward, ive been trying to figure it out, any ideas?

  • 3:23 must've been nerve wrecking for both players

  • Not really, I'd say it was simply a matter of Kaqn getting his DP off. However they both jumped and he always leads it with Jc Jd which can be beaten about by a psychic Ja.

  • Thumbs down? For what?

Maybe someday they'll make something better for you.

  • Wow ... Thumbs down ... And nah, I had Bleach: Dark Souls. DS hasn't got the power for the thing I mean, but all of the PS2 Bleach games were bad.

  • But Bleach is fucking garbage, just like you.

  • o_o Okay ...

  • Glad to see we're all in agreement.

  • Why do you hate Bleach so much? =D

  • I hate a lot of things that suck.

  • Bleach is too long.

  • No I'm not saying I dislike bleach. I just won't watch it since most animes I watch usually have to be under 50 episodes....I made an exception for Hayate no Gotoku's first season though..

  • Ah, right. I can forgive it because I was watching it when it was like 10 episodes, so I've just been watching 1 a week (well, 19 pages a week, seeing as I read the manga over watching the anime).

  • Best drawing style in manga?? What!!! have you seen Sayonara Zetsubou sensei Or Bokurano??

  • I don't know about Bokurano, but I know Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and the drawing style's too childish for me. It's like a more bland version of Soul Eater, or a detailed version of FLCL.

  • lol, jabbed the robot at 1:30

  • It was something like this

Nirvana: HEEEEY RAGNA! Come over here and give me lots of KISS!

    *SMACK*

    Ragna: Shut up, bitch.

  • so damn funny i went back just to check it ... and started lauhing sooo hard xD thumbs up lol

  • lmao

  • Dio as in THE Ronnie James Dio??

  • I'm trying to main Carl and I have to say it is way harder than it looks.

You'd have to pay attention to Nirvana every time, since Carl alone is a bad fighter. This includes knowing when she's down or when someone hit her/canceled out her attack.

The only thing I'm doing which lets me win most of the time is Carl's aerial throw, I just keep doing that, but that's just on CPUs and I dont think it'd work on a human.

This is probably the same situation with Testament's shadow or Bridget's yoyo.

  • Er, I mean Eddie's, my bad.

  • Carl is totally low-tier and is said to be the hardest character in the game to master. Which is why Dio has so much respect.

  • hey Emill is there a video somewhere that shows everyone's special, or distortion drives I think their called, I'd really appreciate it.

  • Carl definitely looks like the dhalsim in this game. Hes an awesome character, but he takes a extremely skilled player to make full use of him. Otherwise, he is low tier for sure.

  • Dhalsim does not require extreme skill, just knowledge of his pokes and how to use them. Any half intelligent player can use Dhalsim with some effectiveness, but Carl not quite.

  • "Street Fighter doesn't require much more than qcf+p..."

    You know NOTHING.

  • OK, OK, I admit it. There's ALSO the shoryuken.

  • ...Use a gun and remove yourself from the gene pool. It will make us all sleep easier at night knowing that your idiocy is gone.

  • Don't get all asshurt because a game you masturbate to is a boring as fuck spamfest.

Now why don't you take that gun you're talking about, stick it up your asshole and pull the trigger.

  • LOL, if you think it is a spamfest either you suck or the person who is playing against you is so much better than you that they don't need anything else to beat you. Have you not watched any of the insane comebacks by Daigo in SF4, the pwnage of Boss in SF3 or the ZOMG awesome of Yuki Otoko in SF3? Sure you can use a QCF+P but against any player who has a simplistic grasp on the game that would be suicide. Oh and I don't masturbate to SF, I play it and learn about the game before dissing it.

  • And what makes you think I haven't played SF4? Because I don't think it's a good game? At its best moments, it's OK.

And you're not fooling anybody. We know you wank it to the cover.

  • I never said you haven't played SF4, I was implying that you didn't play after you kept getting owned by a fireball game. That's fine, most n00bs quit after someone beats them repeatedly with a fireball game and then they bitch about how its cheap, it can be spammed and all that. Look at higher level play and you will notice that the fireball game is rare because any good player can get around it without getting hurt. And insulting someone just proves that you have no logical base to stand on.

  • Eh, not sure how you can say the fireball game is rare. Every match you see of Daigo(or any other Ryu), and/or Sagat players will have lots of fireball games implemented.

  • I never said a fireball was rare, but the way the person I am responding to makes it sound like it is the only thing used. There is also a lot shoryukens, tigher knees, tiger uppercuts, supers, ultras, EX's, crossups, throws, Focus Attacks and hurricane kicks (using the examples of Ryu and Sagat). Any good player uses fireballs to control space but they do not use it exclusively; what I would refer to as a fireball game would be only fireballs being used.

  • I've seen higher level play. You know what I see there? Fireball spam.

  • And who where you watching? If you could prove that there is a pro/skilled player that only uses fireballs and ignores EX's, shoryukens, huriccane kicks, throws, focus attacks, supers, ultras and crossups then I will gladly concede to you that you found ONE player who does that. Though that is ONE out the the many who play and use more than that. You are just apparently blinded by your rage at someone kid in the arcade being able to beat you like that to even analyze what pros do in comparison.

  • Spamming fireballs doesn't mean it's the only thing used. Just because you choose to interpret it as being absolutely nothing but fireballs until the match is over is a matter of semantics, in which case we're done talking.

  • o god every pro match is just facking fireballs screeching there way across the damn screen i mean by god that seems to be the key component to this game chip away the health with spam so there screwed thank god i wasn't the only one that saw this

  • Clearly you don't know the purpose of the fireballs. Unless you're O Sagat in ST where spam can be beneficial (and chip damage is fairly large), fireballs have many other uses in pro matches that you clearly aren't seeing.

Did you ever think that fireballs weren't intended to actually connect but rather to force the opponent to make an action that you can counter on reaction?

  • lol at this ss4 guy. so the fireball game isnt part of pro play? thats pretty much all of sf2 and sf4. watch daigos sf2 and sf4 shit along with other players like Ino (dhalsims fireballs). the only one that doesnt have much is sf 3 because zoning is not part of the game. theres barely any space plus parries make it pointless.

and yes, sf4 is a snoozefest. this coming from an sf fan for years.

  • But is it the only thing you see? That is what the whole debate is based on. I never said that there wasn't fireball usage by pros, I just said that they do more than that and that was what the argument is about. Honestly the offer stands, show me a pro game where ONLY fireballs are used, as the retard who started this whole thing claims, and I will concede that it happens in some games. Yes SF4, is boring but I never claimed otherwise, I only was stating that there is more than just fireballs.

  • I totally agree with you fireballs are part of the game otherwise there wouldn't be any fireballs at all in the game. Fireballs are a way to put pressure on the enemy and to force him to block/jump, and to take advantage of that reaction.

Its sad that SF4 was so boring i was expecting more, perhaps Capcom has lost its magic touch with fighting games?.

  • damn right.

  • LOL @ 1:32

  • hahahahhaa

i love at 1:32 when the doll type thing (which is really creepy btw) gets ready to hit him he just like taps it and it stops like

"hey... no mister... you stop that"

    "ok...."

    lol

  • Lol that is pretty awesome.

Seen it happen many times before but in that situation its like kaqn didn't notice it happening and just reacted really fast.

  • Finally! I've been looking for a decent match with Carl in it! He looks like fun.

Now, if only Game Chariot could record these in widescreen, at the very least.

@ BakChiJai: I heard someone else say the same thing. Honestly, this looks faster than GG to me. I'm not seeing how it's slower at all.

  • Oh, and in stereo; whenever I click on "watch in high quality", the sound is mainly in the right speaker. Kinda like some of Joybox's videos...

  • @ CrimsonZanpakuto

if you watch top GGAC matches (especially those of ogawa's, hurhurhur)---they are much faster and brutal den blazblue

And these are top blazblue players. Regular play rarely gets this fast (by blazblue standards)

  • it true that it is slower in play. But BB is much more brutal due to it highly aggressive style. many people have move to BB due to it more aggressive than GG

  • It's hard to believe that. GG is so much faster and more aggressive than BB. BB is the watered down version of GG in terms of gameplay, characters, and style. Don't get me wrong; I'll be buying it, but lets not kid ourselves when making a comparison to GG.

  • Yeah you know nothing about GG then. BB is basically the brawl of GG, much easier and user friendly. admittedly, characters like rachel and carl are very hard to learn and comparing this to brawl and melee is a stretch. however, BB is for the most part easier and designed to be friendlier and slower than GG. its part of the reason FRC's were taken out.

  • and in the gg you couldn't no where as close as to bb. The FRC's was to add more options for the advance players, but this made a huge gap for new players to the advance players. But with bb you can get the 80% health damage without the frc's. So the beginners can be just as aggressive as the advance. Know nothing about it, I only played it since the beginning. Plus everone has an overhead attacks which you can punish the usually low blocker.

  • yeah. everyone in gg had at least one overhead. it was called a dust. most chars have either another overhead or a command throw for mixups. aggressive does not mean fast. just watch a match. bb is noticeably slower than gg. perhaps you can be aggressive, but do not mistake that as meaning bb is as fast.

oh fyi, there are 80% comboes in gg without frc's. shows what you know about the game.

  • mann I don't know.. for some reason. it seems slow to me compared to guilty gear or is it just me?

  • I don't know about being Carl being top tier. DUstloop says he's doing bridgette like damage.

  • he does bridget damage and takes damage like bridget

  • Not to mention he is not very fast.

  • it just his long tech frame when you get hit by him. Dio came out of no where with the carl play and it had people down for a while. But now people have caught on to carl play.1

  • what the bloody hell. Is carl suppose to be top tier or something?

  • Good stuff. I'm learnin to use Carl. It's so funny to see people get freaked out by the doll.......

  • good carl, I plan to man him

  • Guilty Gear players have moved on :P

  • Great Fight.

  • Dio as in Dio who plays AbA?

  • Sure.

    Kaqn vs DIO

    Sol vs ABA

    Ragna vs Carl
